I greatly depend on the reviews on yelp to help me determine a service or product l'm in the market for. I came across the phenomenal reviews on ATech to service my 2007 GMC Yukon. I arrived 9am with my two young children & he said it was going to be a couple of hours. I planned accordingly & brought activities for my kids to do. After about an hour & a half my kids were becoming restless & asked if they can shuttle us home. At that time, my vehicle had not been inspected yet. I was surprised by Paul's extremely rude tone & demeanor. His response was, "I CANNOT provide a shuttle for you. IT'S NOT WORTH MY TIME! I have several guys doing other things. You have to arrive here (ATech) at 8am in order to receive shorter service". I don't have that convenience to arrive that early as he adamantly suggested. Paul lacks interpersonal customer communication as he displayed extreme rudeness & hostility when asked for shuttle in exchange for my business. Based on my experience, I do not recommend ATech service. If he's a jerk now & doesn't care about customer satisfaction, how much more when he works on my vehicle? It seemed at one point he offered exceptional service, but from my experience he's one of the worst. So I left & will search elsewhere for a good auto mechanic. read more

Once again, the transmission of our 06 Pathfinder was acting up and our mechanic's diagnosis was to rebuild due to metal found in the pan. Without hesitation, we contacted John and Paul at A-Tech. The module had been replaced a few years ago in their shop. They went out of their way to drive the car to their shop and after diagnosis, recommended a rebuild. Unfortunately, the replaced module was useless and the rebuild quote increased but their communication was excellent. They were pushing to finish the job by Friday or Saturday but when that didn't happen, they offered to pay for an auto rental. We had to rent on Saturday from Enterprise since they aren't open on Sunday and given the snow forecast in Big Bear, we needed a reliable vehicle for a scheduled dental surgery in Los Angeles on Monday. A-Tech went above and beyond by reimbursing for the car rental. That is superior service and why we won't go anywhere else. Thank you, John and Paul. read more

So came in with an 04 civic hybrid. Car had transmission issues and we came in to buy a rebuilt one for roughly spending 2800 on the old part. From the first repair car ran off the lot great smooth gears and could tell the work was done pretty well so far...... later in the week I noticed the gears starting to slip again. I took it into the shop and his guys said it's how the car runs. Sure enough I continue to drive the car and end up stuck 45 min away from home at night nearly being hit by 3 cars on the freeway exit. I take the car back in and they agree "yes transmission is bad" keep in mind I only have a 3 month warranty on the part. They replace the transmission again and same issue I drive off the lot and the car sounds and drives just as bad as it did when I first brought it back. After two weeks of driving the car (around 1month and half ) the car again begins to slip gears I take it back and they say it's the car everything's fine. It's been since February since I left there shop I'm not only 2800 in the gutter on a transmission now I'm without a vehicle. From the car defaulting again!!! DO NOT GO TO THE GUYS THEY CANT BACK UP THERE WORK. They pushed me off multiple times for something they said was normal and wasn't. read more

Took my truck in to get a shift selinoid replaced they diagnosed it charged me 700 told me to bring it in early to get it done that day so I did so this is my daily took them 3 days to get it back but I was fine with that two days after I got it back maybe put 30 miles on it and boom stops shifting like before check engine light on for tranny code take it in they have it for 2 whole weeks and say the couldn't duplicate the problem so I go get it back because I have no way to get to work first day having it back and what do you know check engine light on and no shifting I'm extremely un satisfied because I could have gotten this job done for much cheaper somewhere else but came here because I here they are good at what they do I regret the decision read more

Theses guys did a great job on my durango. I took it to victorville motors first for tranny issues and they said my trans need to either be rebuild or replaced. Rebuilding it was going to cost 3300 or replacing it was going to be 5800. So I towed it from there over to Atech. 5 days later I have my truck back it was a solenoid block cosy 810 dollars to replace. Glad I came here. read more

It took two tries to get a diagnosis that I definitely needed work on my mobility van. He could have been dishonest and made us get work done on the first try. He drove it 18 miles, had no problems, so he told us he recommended that we take it home without work. If it had problems after we got it back, call him to look again. I appreciate his honesty. They rebuilt the transmission and installed a billet torque converter with a lower stall RPM, and had it done when they said they would! When it turned out that my motor was not comfortable with as low of a stall as we installed, they were right there and installed another, higher stall torque converter, free of charge, and just said, 'We want you to be happy with our work." The scene: College Tours - SF Bay, to San Diego, to Riverside, to Reno. All is well until we leave Riverside. 1.5 hours south of Temecula on 395, just about into nowhere land... CLUNK, CLUNK, GRIND,CLUNK, GRIND! It's my transmission. Figuring I'd find nothing close I Yelped and found ATech about 10 miles away. I called and explained incident, and said I had children aboard. It was about 3 pm. They said bring it in, so I limped it there. They fired up my truck, put it in gear... Front transfer case shot. Within the next hour they worked diligently to find anew transfer case; not even the dealer had one. It was gonna take at least a day. They offered to drive me to a hotel. After thinking a bit while they worked on finding a transfer case I asked if there was a rental car business... BAM! The old style contact book came out, and with a few flips of the page we had a plan. They drove me to get my rental. We pressed on to Reno, and then back to the bay. I got the call on the way home, they found a transfer case that next day, and I could trek back out to pick up my truck (after dropping kids off home). The reviews for ATech, as good as they are, don't begin to speak to the level of service & professionalism I experienced. The counter guys were awesome as they worked the phones and computers to find me a transfer case, and this while helping a few other customers. The shop crew were polite & respectful, as we needed to grab things out of the truck. They demonstrated good citizenship and concern for our safety while in the shop. With over 400 miles to get back, I wasn't the bit concerned about the work done, and the cost was fair. A trip that could've been disastrous turned into a nice little adventure, in great part due to ATech! I would be doing them a disservice by not reviewing my experience. Fred F read more

Paul said bring it in and they will look at it right away but Dodge did not have the parts in stock so John took my trailer to his house and one of the workers took my family to a hotel and helped get a discount and the room, WOW good service! They fixed my truck the next day picked up my trailer for me and got us on the road at 2:00 to Mammoth, saved the trip. Paul was straight up about what he can and can not do. No beating around the bush. Told me servicing transmissions were on a first come bases, and if you can't make it by 8am chances are they may not get to it and gave me the reason why. Totally understood. I was second in line for service and it took approximately an hour and a half to do the person in front of me in my car. His estimate of time for repair was almost exactly what he quoted me. I hate taking my car to transmission shops, just like anyone else. I know they're always going to tell me that I need a new transmission or a total rebuild...no matter what the truth really is about my car...and the problem is that I own a nice BMW 7 series and the usually smack me just because they think I can afford it...but I can't. I've taken my car to A Tech twice now and this has not been the case. Not only did they fix my problem at a more than reasonable price...but I had to sit in their lobby both times and listen to how they handle business with other people. Time after time I heard them deal with transmission problems that didn't require a total rebuild. They were always helping the customer get out of there as cheap as possible and a lot of people came in who had taken their own transmissions out and just wanted someone to rebuild it. To my amazement they seemed to want that type of business. Their prices were low to me and they handled a lot of volume. I would go in early and hear them talking about how late some of the employees worked...like 8am to 9pm...the same hours I worked on my way up in my youth. This means they are getting the jobs done, not leaving at 5 in the middle of work...I highly recommend A Tech...it is the BEST transmission shop that I have dealt with in my 54 year life...BMW would have wanted $8000 and that is a fact...A Tech fixed my trans for under $500...and that is a fact also...you can trust them...and that is rare in a transmission shop! read more

They take forever to get work done. Once I finally got my car back it was messed up again within a couple of weeks and the second time around they take even longer fixing it. I'm sure they are taking care of their paying customers first and their mistake is way on the back burner. When you call you don't get any answers, they just say we'll see if we can get it tomorrow. These guys are the best! My son's transfer case was making a loud sound. After checking the transfer case it was trashed. Based on the age and mileage of the car the recommendation was a low mile used unit. Get in and installed and next day there was a leak. They ordered a new seal, pulled the unit out again and replaced the seal at no cost. Honest, friendly and stand by their work. A+. read more

If I could do a negative star I would. Thought the owner was a nice guy and backed his business. Had my transmission serviced there and after two days it started leaking. I've tried to call and contact him via email from their website and phone calls but no reply. Finally went under the truck myself and every single bolt on the trans pan was loose. Leaked all over my exhaust. Luckily it didn't catch on fire. I wouldn't recommend going anywhere near this business. Went in for a full service, etc. all seals, gaskets, filter and fluid change. All I got was a leaking trans and maybe a wipe down to look like they serviced it. Never going back again and will never recommend anyone to go there either. read more

I brought my 72 elcamino to Atech trans. I had them rebuild a turbo hydramatic 350. This is the one of the most common transmissions in the United States. I am disabled mechanic. The transmission had less than ten thousand miles, and was out of warranty per management. I never raced the car or even drove it hard. Because I hardly drive the car, it only had less than ten thousand miles. Atech said they could repair it for a flat cost of $300. The next day my engine had no oil pressure. When Atech took the transmission out they broke the oil line to the guage. There was oil inside and outside of my car. When I looked under the car; there were bolts loose and missing; The transmission cooler lines were loose; they stripped a bolt that held the trans to the block. I have no confidence that the transmission will last any length of time. When I showed all this to the Atech crew / management. It did not phase them.... they just said that they would fix everything. I WILL NEVER LET ATECH TRANSMISSION TOUCH ANY OF MY CARS. I EVEN PAID ANOTHER MECHANIC TO REPAIR THE BUTCHER JOB THEY DID ON MY CAR. iF YOU ARE SMART YOU WILL NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO ATECH TRANSMISSION. ATECH IS EITHER INCOMPETENT, OR THEY JUST DO NOT CARE....... OR BOTH. On one of these sites, one of these managers insulted my looks, and my car. So, if you dont look like a movie star, or do not have a ten thousand dollar paint job on your car; then you had better exercise even more care with these back-stabbing-parasites.
