I got a transmission overhaul for my 90s Honda Accord here and everything was reasonably priced, fast, and efficient. It took their mechanics less than a week to set everything straight, which was great because I was borrowing a family member's car to go to work. Additionally, they kept me updated (over the phone) regarding the process and additional services that came up as they worked on my car. They don't move forward with anything without approval. I went to go have my transmission checked out on 05.01.2025, (Mazda Miata 2010) and saw the reviews on HD Auto Transmission on Hesperia in Victorville, and the reviews are right, this is a 5 star company. First, I was impressed with how well the place was clean and organized for an auto shop (they don't have a lot of old cars and stuff all over the place). I always say that if the floors are clean, then the rest of the management is organized. I met Ethan, Nathan, and the rest of his crew. Everyone was very nice to speak to and explained everything that needed to be done and /or advised you to do it. You can tell that they take pride in the work that they do. My issue on the transmission is minor, but I was advised that they would need to open the transmission to fix it. So they recommended a workaround to stop the oil drip and stated that if that didn't stop it, then I would need to have the transmission opened to repair. I really like that because it gave me options, and I felt like they weren't trying to take advantage of the situation. I chose the workaround fix, and if that doesn't work, then I will definitely feel comfortable in taking it back to them to get it repaired (and by the way, the Mazda dealership would not touch it because they said the car was too old, although the car is still in showcase condition and is always garaged with still low miles...but I understand). So, with that said, if you are looking for a 5 star transmission auto place, I would highly recommend taking your car to HD Auto Transmissions and the prices were reasonable. I usually drive down to orange county to get my car taken care but after battery issues with aaa telling me its an alternator issue, i messaged HD auto and they were able to get me in within a couple of hours. I didn't want to drive all the way down there, just in case. I have trust issues with mechanics. HUGE trust issues with mechanics, but im so glad with the people of yelp, i was able to find someone who would keep me from driving all the way down to oc. It wasn't an alternator issue, and they were able to assist with every little thing i kept asking for. The patience and time given by Ethan and the lady helping up front made me feel comfortable. (I didn't get the ladys name) I had them change 8 spark plugs, oil change, and air filter since i was already there. He told me the belts still looked good. Gave me an estimate of how much life i have on my brakes and tires, made sure to tell my fluids were topped off, etc. Very thorough and just overall patient and helpful. I appreciated everything they did and the amount of time given to me. Im talking nearly 30 minutes of me and my questions and them taking the time to explain, not mansplain. I would definitely recommend hd Auto for anyone uncomfortable with mechanics! Also, pay cash, and you save 3.8% from processing fees! (Or some sort of fee) still saved some money! read more

I have requested a transmission fluid flush. Ethan did a wonderful job in reassuring that the flush for my 2013 Kia Sorento would be easy. He gave two quotes that explained the details for each one and what that meant for the car. I mentioned the cabin air filter and he gave me a quote and added it to the work order. He also changed the air filter. They showed me the cabin filter and it was super dirty.Pricing was reasonable based on the work that was done. It took about 4-5 hours for them to complete the work. Recently had to have my transmission rebuilt, after 5 minutes talking to Ethan we agreed and I took the transmission to them.( Bench job). Five days later I went back and picked it up. Reinstalled the transmission and took it to them the next day per Ethan's request, On the test drive Ethan said it was shifting in hard and going into lockout. Next day I dropped it off and they had it fixed by 4.They changed the second gear spring and a new solenoid/ not working and found a mass vacuum , Ethan repaired, picked up the truck and noticed right away it was shifting like it was new.. My poor little 2007 RAV4, we would drive and it would shift into all gears until I got warm. It would no longer allow us to go into any gear. We had our vehicle towed to HD auto transmissions. The people were very polite. Seem to be very knowledgeable. We drop the car off and they informed me that the filter is clogged. Vehicle does have high mileage. At this time I could not see rebuilding it, they gave me multiple options. I chose to just have the filter replaced, knowing if the filters clogged that there's damage inside the transmission. But they were completely upfront with me. Transmission last for little while longer, then it went completely out. Took a transmission back to them and have them rebuild it. Cost me a little extra because I chose just to change the filter the first time. So I paid for the first service and then paid for the rebuilding. But I'm still happy with them. They do excellent work. This was about a month ago or more. Would recommend them if you have transmission repairs. read more

Dealership was going to charge $250 for a CVT fluid change. Originally told them they could do it so I wouldn't have to deal with it later. Stealership forgot to do it and offered to do it the next day. Negative- had the chance to take my money and they apparently didn't want it bad enough. Looked through yelp to hopefully find a local shop to support. Ethan quoted me $60 if I brought in certified Subaru fluid. Fluid cost about $130 total and the total still came in $60 less than the dealership, and about the same as what my coworker paid for his automatic. Good mechanics are about 50 in 100. Honest and fair mechanics are 1 in a million. These guys will have to open another shop to keep up with demand if they keep up the honest work. read more

So a family member who drives our F150 is about to start a 30 hour trip to another state, but we discovered a leaking rear differential. We were in a bit of a crunch for time due to the sudden discovery. It was almost 10pm on a Sunday night and I was researching local transmission shops via Yelp. I came upon HD Auto Transmissions, they had good reviews and I saw that I could message them via Yelp. I sent a message and wow, within about a couple of minutes, I got a response from Ethan. I totally expected that I wouldn't hear anything until morning. Ethan gave me an approximate quote for the repair and was able to get our truck in on a day that worked for us. Ethan recontacted me the next morning to give me a more exact quote which was fair. I was able to bring the truck to them the day before and they had room to store it it inside.
