Tranny feeling odd. A-Tech was recommended by Roger at Brake Masters. Talked to Keisha on the phone. She was very friendly and helpful. I went in to have them check on my tranny. Tranny fine, motor mounts not fine. Got a good quote and scheduled service. Was told it would take two days. Went back to Brake Masters for a second opinion. They concurred and gave me about the same price. Since I needed other work from Brake Masters and they said they could do everything in one day, I scheduled with them. Even though I did not have A-Tech service my vehicle, I will go back to them if I need transmission service. I can not recommend this shop enough! Hunter is modest, honest, and reliable. He will help you to the best of his abilities and give you nothing less than his all. After a really bad experience with a mechanic shop messing up my civic and telling me they don't do transmission work, I looked around for a shop and found ATech. Boy did I hit the jackpot. At the first shop my car went in for a timing belt and water pump as preventative maintenance and left with a check engine light and a bad smell when it didn't have neither going in. I gave them a chance to fix it and after paying for a service, the problem wasn't fixed. I stopped by at ATech and spoke to Hunter and Keasha and let them know what was going on. They checked my car out and told me that the car had a bad sensor that was busted by force. They also caught that my power steering pump was falling off and fixed it for me. They ordered the part and got it done the same day the part came. He also gave an inspection of the other things the first mechanic supposedly serviced and some things were never even touched! He let me know that the parts that I got scammed paying for were still in good condition though so there was no need for any service with those parts. I now have a new friend and a mechanic I fully trust. Thank you ATech for the best experience I have ever had with a shop. I am very VERY grateful. I also want to mention that the prices are more than fair for the quality of service, honesty and professionalism that you receive in return, and my sensor was cheap so I also had them change my transmission fluid also since I had expected it to cost more and had the money to take care of it. This place wanted to charge us $2,400 for a rebuilt transmission, without even LOOKING at the car. They had a young mechanic rookie come out to the parking lot and hook up the diagnostic tool to the car. Not looking under the hood, he said "this is a bad code" and we went inside, and the cocky person behind the counter blurted out "$2,400 is the price for a rebuilt transmission, but it will be just like new!" Yeah, for that price, I certainly hope so. Anyway, we went to a mechanic friend of ours, and he looked under the hood, ordered the parts, and charged us $280 labor (the parts were like $250). So, for a little over $500, our car runs like new! I realize that this place is very popular with the locals, but you know what? Let this be a warning to you to shop around and get a second opinion. They were always upfront about the possible costs and maintained complete disclosure regarding their findings, my options, and related costs. After having my son's car checked due to having the engine light on, I was referred to A-Tech by Brake Masters ( I love them as well). I called and explained to the service tech (Paul) the issues and asked for an estimated price. Yes, I needed to see if it was even worth having a rebuilt or new transmission placed into the car. Anyway, Paul stated bring the car in and he'll take care of it. Paul called and stated "come and get your car it's done". REALLY, we didn't discuss price is what I was thinking. Well, he explained the speed odometer sensor was unplugged and everything is good to go. I asked the price and again he stated "come and get your car". I arrived with a box of donuts and a smile. I truly appreciate him and his crew. Should I have transmission problems in the future, I hope not, I will definitely call A-Tech. oh.. you may ask why was the sensor unplugged - we recently had the engine replaced. These people are crooks. My husband and I live in Northern California, but he grew up in Hesperia and had to drive down for his mother's funeral. It is a 500+ mile drive, and on the way he had some transmission issues. To make a long story short, he took the truck to these people and they took our money ($400+) and didn't do the work! They let him leave with no fluid in the transfer case, and the bad seals that caused it! Tim noticed something was fishy right away and spoke to the manager, but he swore he watched his employees do the work. However, he clearly lied. Tim is stuck in Bakersfield waiting for auto parts stores to open so he can put fluid in. It won't stay with those bad seals but at least it may get him to Fresno without frying our poor truck, and from there he can get a tow. I have already spoken with our credit card company, and the Better Business Bureau is next. If you are skeptical of my review, check out their Google reviews. According to those reviews this place has a long history of pulling crap like this. read more
