I was driving through the desert when all of the sudden my car started giving me strange error codes then the engine light (not the check engine light) started flashing. I lost power and was stuck on the side of HWY 395. Waiting for a tow truck and being far from home I went to Yelp to find a mechanic and yet again Yelp did not let me down. Hundreds of 5 star reviews, for good reason. I called and Jeremy picked up right away, was courteous, professional and told me to have the tow truck bring it down and they will prioritize it bc im a traveller, he said he'll having me up and going in no time, unless it was a catastrophic failure. So even though id be passing by many other shops on the way in I knew this is the place I had to go. I was met by Brett with a smile and a firm handshake at the shop and immediately he grabbed his scan tools and said lets go check it out! Wow! Long story short, his expertise immediately led him to the culprit, a loose battery terminal! To think, all this caused by such a seemingly innocuous problem. How many techs would have solved that issue so quickly I thought, and what would they cost me in time and money to solve it. He told me to drive around a bit, and see if the issue came back, and if not, take care and safe travels! I tried to follow him into the building and pay him for his time and expertise, I was truly thankful. He told me not to worry about it, if I knew people from the area to send them their way. I then tried to offer to buy them lunch and he replied they just had lunch but thank you for the offer. What else can be said? 5 star business, 5 star human beings, God Bless these gentleman and their business. read more

Highly recommend Freedom Auto! I was in a pinch, having to travel to Laughlin during a heatwave and A/C quit on my 2016, 2500 GMC Talked with Jeremy and he got me scheduled, repaired and back on the road quick. Can't say enough good things about Freedom Auto so here's some highlights. Honest, good pricing without sacrificing quality, quick turnaround times, well educated, down to earth communication, honest recommendations without the upsales, I can keep going. Jeremy and Bret at Freedom Auto are just some good on the level people. Glad I found them and now have a place I can bring my vehicle and know that i'm in good hands. So if you are still scanning for someone to bring your vehicle to STOP, give theses guys a call. I couldn't be happier with there service from start to finish. Keep it up guys! You are definitely doing it right. Joe G read more

I chose Freedom Auto Repair because of its excellent reputation and specifically sought an independent shop to objectively diagnose persistent front suspension noises on my 2018 Chevrolet Malibu after extensive suspension work had already been completed elsewhere. Before my appointment, I completed their online intake form with a detailed description of the symptoms and my request for a comprehensive diagnosis. My appointment was on June 29, 2026. Jeremy, the owner, rode with me during a test drive, and together we identified multiple distinct noises coming from the front suspension, including an unusual noise that could be felt and heard through the brake pedal. Before I left the vehicle with them, I understood that all of those concerns would be diagnosed and repaired. Freedom Auto Repair kept my vehicle from June 29 until July 21. During that time, they contacted me several times to thank me for my patience, which I appreciated. When I was notified the vehicle was ready, I asked to test drive it before paying. During that drive, it became apparent that while some of the noises had been eliminated, several of the original noises were still present. I calmly explained that this wasn't consistent with my original service request or with my understanding of what we had discussed before I left the vehicle. Unfortunately, that conversation took an unexpected turn. Jeremy immediately disputed my recollection of our initial discussion and insisted we had never discussed eliminating all of the noises. That was not how I remembered our conversation. He became increasingly frustrated, stated that he was "through with this car," and after I questioned his version of events, he told me, "get out of my shop" and "don't you ever step foot in it again." At no point did I refuse to pay for the work. In fact, I had cash in my hand and intended to pay after confirming the repairs addressed the issues we had discussed. Instead, Jeremy returned my keys and refused payment. While I ultimately wasn't charged for the work, this experience wasn't about the money. It was about the way I was treated as a customer. After waiting more than three weeks for the vehicle, I expected to have a professional discussion about the remaining concerns. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, dismissed, and unwelcome simply for questioning whether the repairs fully addressed the problems I brought the vehicle in for. Every repair shop can encounter a difficult diagnosis. What distinguishes a great shop is how it communicates with customers when expectations differ. Unfortunately, my experience fell well short of the professionalism I expected based on Freedom Auto Repair's reputation. I cannot recommend the shop based on the way this situation was handled. UPDATE AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE BELOW After reading Jeremy's response, I want to clarify several points. First, I did not refuse to pay. I had just come from the ATM and arrived with cash in hand. Such is easily verified with a simple review of his in-store surveillance. Jeremy and I agreed at drop-off that I would test drive the vehicle before payment, so my request to do so was exactly what we had discussed. Second, this has never been about what was or wasn't written on the repair order. During our initial road test, Jeremy and I identified multiple suspension noises, including the brake pedal noise, and my understanding was that these concerns would be diagnosed and resolved. Several of those same noises remained when I picked up the vehicle. Third, Jeremy says I insulted him. I did not call him names or use profanity. I told him, "You are being dishonest and twisting yourself into a pretzel to rewrite the nature of our discussion when I dropped the vehicle off." Readers can decide whether that was a personal insult or my frustration after being told a conversation I clearly remember never happened. Finally, Jeremy states he performed "three weeks of work" while also claiming the approved repair was simply replacing both lower control arms. My vehicle remained there from June 29 to July 21. I'll let readers draw their own conclusions on whether that makes sense or not. read more

Jeremy was professional, fair, and went out of his way to accommodate my rather hectic pickup schedule. I will return!

The level of customer service from start to end during my experience with them was nothing short of amazing. They fit me into their schedule. They explained the entire process to me gave me multiple options and their prices were more than reasonable. The level of communication was unexpected and was such a breath of fresh air. If you are looking for any auto repairs, oil changes, brake changes anything in that category stop looking and just go here you won't be disappointed. Finally a business in the High desert that deserves returning customers and loyalty. read more

Brett and Jeremy were the best! Couldn't have been friendlier. Traveling through with my family towing a travel trailer and we broke down just outside of Hesperia. They were slammed but told me to bring my truck in and they'd take a look. Knowing we were traveling through they stayed after hours to get the work done and got us back on the road. Above and beyond, friendly and knowledgeable. read more

we were on our way back to San Diego in our Pleasureway van when we heard a strange noise and stopped at the next exit, which fortunately was just around the corner from Freedom Auto Repair Hesperia. as two older women, facing the Cajon pass, we were very concerned about the brakes. Brett was fantastic, worked us in on a very busy day, checked everything out and sent us on our way reassured. He even called that evening to be sure we got home safely. I can't recommend this place, and its employees, highly enough. read more

After getting the run around from another shop, I thought I would try Freedom. Jermey jumped into action diagnosing my AC issue on my truck. Literally, knew what the issue was in ten minutes. I asked him if he could do transmission filter and fluid and belt changes while he fixed the AC. He agreed and said, All he needed was a day. He was true to his word. He did it in one day and truck is cold and purring perfectly. I will be using him for every service and be recommending him to anyone that asked. Great work Jermey!!! read more

Hard to find shops like this anymore. Super friendly, honest, and actually trustworthy. They got the work done quickly without cutting corners, and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. They even gave me a free ride home, which most places don't bother with. Communication was solid too--everything was electronic, clear, and easy to understand. No guessing, no surprises on the bill. Best part? No pushy sales tactics. They fix what needs to be fixed and leave it at that. If you want a shop that treats you straight, this is it. read more

Took my 1996 Toyota Tacoma in for air conditioner repair. They quoted me a possible $2300 if needed the whole system replaced. After a few days they called and said that it was a loose bolt at the bottom and it just needed tightened and the refrigerant recharged. They could have charged me a lot more but were honest in their work. I'll not take my autos anywhere else but to Freedom Auto. They are great people. read more

I never post reviews, but this one was necessary. If I could give Freedom Auto Repair 10 stars, I would do it! I was on a road trip had an issue with my truck. I called the shop. Jeremy answered the phone. I told him I was three minutes away and he said come by. We'll put it on the scanner and if we can help you out, we will definitely do it. I got to his shop. They diagnosed my truck and got me back on the road in an hour and a half. Jeremy and his team are amazing and honest. He knew I was on a road trip and he gave me a very fair price and amazing quality of work. Thank you so much for helping me out with Jeremy. I'm grateful for you. read more

We had car trouble on our way to Vegas over the holiday weekend and pulled into Freedom Auto Repair not really knowing what to expect given how busy they clearly were. They couldn't have been more accommodating -- friendly from the first phone call, and genuinely thorough rather than rushing us out the door. Rather than doing a quick patch job, they took the extra time to make sure nothing would leave us stranded further down the road, and even pointed us toward a rental car option while they worked on the car. Really appreciated the honesty and care, especially on a holiday weekend when it would've been easy to just do the bare minimum. Highly recommend! read more

called about dropping a vehicle off for crank no start, i explained all issues to the person i talked to on the phone they estimated 250 to diagnose the problem and directed me to drop it off the following day. i towed the vehicle to the shop and upon arrival i was told they were to busy to take any vehicles and after a quick glance inside the vehicle i was told they will not take the car at all. overall communication sucked and i wasted a tow. read more

Very catering and attentative the tow guy tore off part of my bumper and they made sure to take pictures and videos and called me to tell me

If I could give a '10' I would. Jeremy did a diagnostic of my vehicle and didn't want to charge me since he didn't find anything wrong. What honesty! Gave me some advice about my vehicle which is something I value so much. That's customer service for you! read more

I recently had my oil change at Freedom Auto Repair, and I can't recommend them enough! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They took the time to explain the process to me, which made me feel so much more comfortable--especially as someone who can feel intimidated at car shops. The prices are super reasonable, and I really appreciate their honesty about what services I actually needed. It's refreshing to find a place where you know you're not being upsold or taken advantage of. For anyone who's hesitant about visiting a mechanic, especially my fellow girlies, Freedom Auto Repair is the perfect choice. They treat everyone with respect and genuinely care about their customers. I'll definitely be returning for all my future oil changes! Thank you, Freedom Auto Repair, for making my experience so positive! read more

This year I had a "Check Engine" light right when my smog was due. Freedom Auto Repair fixed the problem and at a good value. When I took it to be smog checked, it failed because of a Permanent Fault Code (new 2019 rule). Vehicles newer than 2010, will fail even without a "Check Engine" light with a Permanent Fault Code. The code just means a problem "once" existed and now the car must run self- system checks to confirm it is fixed. The fault can only be cleared by driving 15 specific drive cycles and logging over 200 miles. In many cases it can take 44 drive cycles before it clears. In my opinion, Freedom Auto Repair's obligation to me ended when they fixed the "Check Engine" light. It's not their responsibility to "fix" the government. Seeing I was in distress they continued to check my car and even drove the cycles for me without charging extra. MY CAR PASSED!!!! These are honest hard-working people who really want to help. Thank you Leville and Jeremy! Thank you again Jeremy! I was on my way to California from Vegas when we started hearing a loud screeching sound. I have my family in the car, including a 7 week old, so naturally I was panicking. No Acura dealers around. Searched for an auto shop nearby that can possibly take a look so I know it's safe to drive but it's 1:45pm on a Friday afternoon and I knew this would be near impossible. I called Freedom Auto and Jeremy answered. I explained the situation and despite having two cars ahead and closing at 3 he offered to take a quick look. He came out and inspected.. did his magic and had us drive around to make sure the sound was gone. We were back on the road in no time. He could have easily (and understandably) said sorry - I don't have any time but he didn't. I cannot thank you enough Jeremy! read more

Jeromi took the time to prioritize my service. He and his team are outstanding! Wonderful and professional team here at Freedom Auto! I can't recommend enough. Great pricing and great quality work. Awesome, thorough, worked quickly to get my A/C fixed the same day for a trip I was leaving on. Very communicative!

Friendly and knowledgable staff and great all around service. We had motor mounts replaced and new brakes. Very satisfied.

Very friendly office staff but prices are expensive. I found them on Yelp and reached out because they were highly rated. I had to bring the car in to get an estimate. All I wanted was my spark plugs changed and maybe my coils if needed. Their quote was insane. My spark plugs are literally on top of my motor and are super easy to get to. Not more than a 30 minute job with the right tools. Anyway, because I put a request on Yelp for estimates, I found another shop not too far that did the exact same job for less than half of what they quoted me. However, the shop was very modernized and their response time was quick. When I got to the shop, I was attended to immediately and given a quote within 15 minutes. Not sure if I will consider them again. read more

I did not get my car serviced. But Jeremey was very responsive and helped me out with my questions. Above and beyond really.

I am so thankful I found this mechanic. I always have the worst time trusting/leaving my car with someone because you never know what they'll tell you when you get back. I took my car in for one thing and he also checked out a few other things as well, but didn't come up with all these irrelevant fixes like other places do. I will 100% be going back here whenever I need car work again. The owner is responsive and keeps in contact to let you know what's going on. Thank you for being who you are! read more

Just got out of Jeremy's shop. Hour and a half was all it took. He saved me from hours and money wasted. I thought an my ac condenser needed replaced. Jeremy found out that it just a loose screw that let the ac clutch out. He could have said that I needed a new compressor and would have believed him. I added a new serpentine belt to add to the maintenance and the total was still half what the dealership would have charged me for the compressor replacement alone. read more

I had been looking for a place to take a Dodge that needed all 4 engine mounts replaced. It is definitely not a cheap fix anywhere you go. I decided on Freedom Auto. It was the best decision I could have made. Jeremy was quick to answer all my questions and came back with a very satisfying quote. Not only that but the entire staff was friendly and thorough. They sent me photos of everything that needed to be dealt with and came back with great quotes on those as well. The car is now driving very well and I have found a great mechanic. I will definitely only be going back to Freedom from here on out. read more

Amazing communication, great pricing and thorough inspections. My AC was recharged by another place.. they said they cleaned out the lines and looked for leaks. I recently used Fredom auto repair after getting frustrated with the ineptitude of Valley Hi Kia. Valley Hi had my car for five days and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Fredom had it for less than 24 hours and found several things causing the performance issues I was having with my vehicle, as well things that could have hurt me further down the road. They fixed my car for a reasonable price in a short time with a good warranty. They were far better than the Kia dealership in Victorville! I will never be going back to that dealership. I will be going to Freedom from now on. The people there are all nice and friendly. I got a more detailed invoice of the work done than I have ever gotten before. read more
