Beautiful and spacious three-bedroom two two-bath condos. The main bedroom and living room have balcony access. The kitchen has a fridge/stove/microwave/toaster/coffee maker/washer/dryer, pans, dishes, and utensils. There are also three TVs. The condo is well-maintained, nicely decorated, clean, and easily accessible, Parking is free. Only two vehicles per condo are allowed. Atalaya has both an inside and outside pool. You will be satisfied booking this condo. It is convenient and comfortable; Just steps to the beach and close to the Garden City pier. The staff is friendly and helpful. Me and my family loved this place!!! We got a condo off of AIRBNB. The staff their was amazing made you feel right at home! One elevator was down, but they let you know ahead of time plus it wasn't a huge deal due to hospitality they show their guest. Plenty of parking. We will definitely be back next year!! read more

My wife and I have stayed at the Atalaya Towers for a few years now on long term stays over the winter months. We absolutely love our time there and the staff have been consistent and we enjoy seeing them every year, they are like extended family. Jason has been great working with us through our long term stays, Andrea is a great addition. Al is always cheerful and helpful to us and gets things done. We also enjoy Mark and John who promptly and courteously take care of any maintenance issues quickly. My grand daughter has been coming down to visit us over that past few winters and she actually learned to swim in the Atalaya swimming pool (she's 5 years old now). Great place, great staff, great facility!!!!!! My wife and I are looking forward to our next stay in January. read more

Let's start from the beginning shall we?? Upon check in we were informed that the number of towels and such were all we would get. We were a party of 8 and we got 6 towels. They suggested we just keep washing them. We received one roll of tp in each bathroom and were told to go buy more if we needed it. We were also informed that if the dishes and furniture are not all put away when we leave that we would be charged a $50 fine. The room honestly looked like someone's drunk friend who does construction "on the side" was the one working on updates. The tile was crooked, the walls moved when we touched them, the headboard fell off the wall when we sat on the bed, and the walls had dark smudges all over them. Atalaya Towers is located in a perfect spot to a lot of great restaurants. The workers are all helpful and friendly. The rooms are very spacious with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and a nice large kitchen. We enjoyed sitting on the beach front balcony watching dolphins passing by. They have both outside and inside clean pools. We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub. There is nothing bad I can say about atalaya. We will definitely be returning this summer!! read more

This isn't a bad little hotel room joint thing. They have clean linen and towels on your bed so you know they are new and no one had funky called Madinna on them. Glad I was in Army so I know how to make my bed. The joint is clean. Parking suck, bunch of sidewinders with golf carts. The elevators are fast. Tons of hot chicks. I would bring your own pillow, theirs suck; kind of flimsy needs Viagra. The balcony is nice. The place is COVID19 sensitive and acceptances. read more

Stayed here (Condo 1606) for Spring-break 2022 and couldn't ask for a better place and price. We rented through Garden City Realty. The staff at Atalaya are SUPER nice and helpful, which played a huge part of our stay. The staff and manager at Garden City Realty were amazing also! Next time I visit the area I will definitely look into staying here! I didn't want to leave! Rooms were spotless. Beds are comfortable. Great ocean front view. We always arrive to Atalaya Towers to find clean rooms. The beds are made, linens crisp, and rooms inviting. We've been visiting this location for years and were very happy with the upgraded elevators this year. The pool is kept clean and we thoroughly enjoy the beach facing sun deck. They work to make improvements every year and we appreciate them. Since the condo has a full kitchen, we plan and enjoy a few meals in during our stay. The property also has 2 gas grills. They could use some maintenance/replacement but we are thrilled to have them available. With both an indoor pool and outdoor pool, there is plenty of swim space for everyone staying at Atalaya towers. We'd love to see some umbrellas or sun shades added to the outdoor pool, but the water is still incredibly refreshing after a hot day on the beach. Every staff member is pleasant and helpful and we count down the days to our return each year. Highly recommend this property. read more

My parents rented a condo here for the month of March and invited us down where we ended up staying for about two weeks. There are definite pluses and minuses about this place, though of course I can only comment on our specific condo (though I'm guessing since most of the building is likely rentals, the same type of problems likely exist throughout). PROS: - Every staff member we've run into has been nice. - All the guests/residents we've run into have been nice. - The pool is warm and the hot tub is hot. - The condo is really close to the beach (from our view on the 15th floor it looks like we might be on a cruise ship). - Free wi-fi (full bars on phone and laptop) - Our condo had decent carpet that looked fairly new, nice water pressure in the shower, medicine cabinets in the bathrooms, a nice and clean balcony, and decent amounts of storage (clothes dressers, closets). CONS: - The sign for the condo is in a horrible font and is very hard to read--and hence drive right by. - The second elevator wasn't working during our entire two-week stay. - The washer and dryer are in the kitchen. - Our condo had lots of minor annoyances like painted-shut drawers, precariously-hung blinds (that came crashing down when you tried to open/close them), broken and missing refrigerator shelves, one bathtub that couldn't be used because there was no tab to close the drain, some light switches that don't do anything, and most outlets that were somehow too loose to keep anything plugged in, etc., and lots of little things just look older and run-down. I recommend a corner unit if you're going to be staying any length of time, as you get more windows and will have less of a closed-in hotel-room feeling (we have a window above the sink, next to the dining room table, and in one of the bedrooms). Overall we had a nice stay and the place was definitely livable...just as long as you aren't expecting a five-star place. read more

My sister and I stayed at Atalaya from Nov. 23-27, 2021. I had a 3 bedroom in case anyone else wanted to have Thanksgiving at the beach. Several days prior to the reservation, someone from the resort called to confirm the reservation and give me the code as I would be a late check-in. We arrived around 10:30 p.m. on the 23rd. I tried the code in the front door several times. Alas, fortunately, a lady who was in the pool let us in. I looked everywhere for the lock box - only to discover that it's quite nondescript and outside. NO signage was anywhere to guide the way. I called Atalaya and the RCI 800 number - all to no avail. Instead of having an on-call person, all I got was a recording. I left messages, and they called back - 12 HOURS LATER!! Not a good start. There are signs all over about all sorts of stuff - but NOTHING to guide you to the lockbox! After accidentally locating the lock box and retrieving the keys, we went up. The good - the location is excellent - directly ON the beach. The condo was spacious, clean and had a good size balcony overlooking the ocean. There is also a nice ground-level deck area so you can sit outside. Plenty of closet and dresser space. The less than good. There are no ceiling fans in any of the bedrooms nor can you open ANY of the windows in the unit - not even a smidge - they are totally glued shut. The sliding glass door in the master and the living room open - that's the ONLY fresh air possible. So, if you're in the other 2 bedrooms, you have no circulation and kind of suffocate while sleeping. Also, there is no television in the 3rdbedroom. The appliances are fairly new; however, the dishwasher doesn't fit properly, and you can clearly see all sides as the installer just slid it in. The trim finishing work is completely missing. The welcome coffee packets were non-existent. No bathrobe hooks are in the bathrooms. Shampoo is provided, but no conditioner or lotion. The vanity must have come from a children's store - it's WAY TOO SHORT. Instead of placing the dish soap under the sink, it was wrapped in a plastic bag with towels, etc., and it leaked everywhere - so all of that was useless. Also, NO blankets provided - in NOVEMBER. Glad I brought my own for the road trip. Except the view, I was really disappointed with just about everything at Atalaya. Their theme must be "as cheap as possible." read more

This place is HORRIBLE!!!! Been a owner for over 30 years and has gone downhill every year! For example; when we walked into the lobby area, smells, dirty windows, pool filthy, elevator always broken, staff is rude and NO BEACH ACCESS (due to hurricane last year! That's just the lobby! Now entering the condo; smells like cheap bar soap, giant hair ball in masters bath shower, bed sheets feel like a pound of sand is sleeping with you!! Shall I go on???? This condo could be a star on Waccamaw, but needs lots of work. Unit was clean but very dated. Elevators and reception area need complete overhaul. Windows on ground level need to be washed. Our unit was comfortable with furniture but floors and walls needed cleaning. Just some sprucing up would make this a really nice place to rent. read more

The building is shabby and in desperate need of updating. Elevators work well but look like a battle was fought in them. Foyer is not welcoming and disorganized. There's an old bookcase with piles on it. The condo has a great view and is basically clean with good furniture but bathrooms are worn and I could list lots of little dirty areas. The condo needs to be detailed the way one would a car. Pool water looks clean but glass wall is filthy. I just get the sense the place is unkempt. We won't return here. I have been renting condo's at Atalaya Towers from Dunes Realty for the last 7-8 years. I have always had a good experience with Dunes Realty that is why I have used them for the last 12 years. But something was just not right this year and I felt I needed to voice my experience.This is not something I normally do but I think it's time that I speak out. The first thing I'd like to point out is that while checking in at Dunes Realty I was very disappointed I have always had very very good customer service from all the ladies that work there. On the particular morning of April 30th when I checked in there was a young guy at the front desk. He and I made contact at least three times and he ignored me each time even though I said hello and also smiled at him. Another gentleman walked in and he promptly greeted him and called a lady from the back to come and assist the customer. After I've laughed out loud he then looks my way and says oh can I help you, I said yes I'd like to check in he called one of the ladies from the back to help me and never apologize to me for looking over me the whole time that I stood there. I don't know if he was new there but he was a young Caucasian with short curly hair he had on a white shirt and grey slacks. Maybe he worked in the back so he felt he was above helping customers I don't know. Now that that's out of the way onto my review of Atalaya towers the units here are very well maintained I've never had any issues that were not resolved immediately. On one occasion in 2013 the owner of the condo kept coming knocking on my door every day asking if everything was okay and even took the liberty of coming inside while we were away to look around. I feel that the condos should be off limits for the owners if they are being rented. He kept pretending he had to come in to do work when there was really nothing that needed to be done other than an AC filter changed. This year we are staying in unit 405 it looks very nice on the internet everything looks upgraded hence the reason I chose this one. Upon arrival my granddaughter sat at one of the bar stools and put her foot on the side and the bar fell off. After looking closer we were able to see that it had been glued with what looked to be white glue that did not hold wood same thing happened with one of the kitchen chairs when I sat in it myself it was just shoved back in the hole and had Nails put around it and it also fell out. So at that point there are 6 of us at the table with only 4 chairs and one bar stool that is too tall for the table so much for their family dinners but that's okay. It would seem that the owner would invest a few dollars with as much as they charge to rent these places to buy some new chairs. Also they have pictures of their children in the condo which I don't care to see while I'm on vacation it really makes it feel like you're visiting and not at home for the week or two weeks that you stay here. All the beds in the bedrooms are very comfortable with the exception of the frames. The frame in the master bedroom sounds like you're killing someone when you lay in the bed or even sit on the bed. There is also a huge Rubbermaid storage container sitting in the master bedroom makes you wonder what's in it, it's kind of eerie to have to sleep in the bedroom with a storage container with a huge lock on it something that should clearly be outside. Also the hall bathroom the bar inside the bathtub it's just stuck there could have been a disaster had my daughter not caught herself when she grabbed on the bar to get out of the bathtub. Even after all this we enjoyed your condo but please take care of the little issues I'm sure future renters would enjoy it much more. One last thing the staff at aAtalaya Towers in the office and all the maintenance people are top-notch KUDOS TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM. We have owned a timeshare at this condo since it opened in the 1980s. The beach is clean and water beautiful and a much better and quite location compared to myrtle beach. The units are very basic but have all the amenities necessary for an adequate stay. We wish the mattresses were newer and better quality and the lobby and common areas cleaner. All in all, if you don't expect a high end stay it's a great getaway and a place we have wonderful memories. read more
