I'm not going to say which condo we stayed in cause I don't want ya'll to rent the heck out of it. It was really updated and had a nice view off the deck. The one and only complaint is that there were other guests that allowed their children to run up and down the outside corridors well past midnight yelling. Chose this place because it was a great central location for us but not so crowded which we liked. It's right next to the beach and has a great pool that goes 8ft deep. They also have charcoal grills that we used twice during our week long stay. The property has 2 and 3 bedroom condos. We stayed in a 2 bedroom one. Check in was easy as they use a key pad with a passcode to check into your room. I will say though that the key pad lock was VERY tricky to open and probably needs to be switched out. I booked directly with Anchorage online but I've seen other owners put their condos on airbnb. The pictures online for the condo I booked had a major filter on it because in real person it looked really outdated. Also when I walked in it smelled like old. I don't really know how to explain it but like maybe as if nobody had opened the door in a while to let fresh air in. It had a beachy vibe and decor which I like in vacation rentals however as stated before the decor was outdated. It also felt like a lot of clutter. There was something on every wall and in every corner, it was just overkill in my opinion. My room also had terrible lighting. It was full of lamps however they didn't do much. It wasn't very well lit inside unless I opened the screen door. Not all the condos at Anchorage ll are the same though. Some are a lot nicer but I guess that just depends on the owners. My friend stayed right next to mines but you could tell there were a lot of updates made to that one and was just better maintained. Overall I enjoyed my stay but next time I will definitely book another room read more

We live in Florida and Hurricane Ian had us under a Hurricane Watch, luckily we only experienced 65mph gusts and minor damage. After Ian passed us in Florida, the projected path was putting the storm between us and Myrtle Beach and the storm eventually hit Myrtle Beach during our booked dates. I contacted the property about the situation to see about cancelling. They would not allow me to cancel and would not refund me at all. I have lost nearly $1000 to them and never stayed a night at their property. We are hard working people and it's hard to watch $1000 go up in smoke. I don't understand why they would not compromise to some degree considering the situation. If you are reading this review I hope you decide to stay somewhere else due to the way that Anchorage treats it's customers. Hurricane Ian is/was a massive natural disaster and it's the only reason we were not able to travel to Myrtle Beach. I guess it would have been really cool to get hit by Ian in Florida and then travel to Myrtle Beach to enjoy it a second time. Maybe we will consider doing that next time........just kidding!!! We recently stayed at the Anchorage II for a week long spring break. the condo was lovely with an ocean front view. what wasn't lovely was the walls are paper thin and the unit above us stomped their feet and walked back and forth all night and opened and shut their patio slider constantly and loudly. I understand movement but this was like a herd of elephants. They opened and slammed the patio door every morning by 6 and one morning we were awoken at 4:30. The rooms are beautiful and the outside is too and it has a good view of the ocean but this specific room me and my family got ruined our vacation... So its room 311 the room is beautiful it has 2 floors 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. But the AC was messed up. So we were supposed to stay at the room for a week but we only stayed 5 days because on the 4th day around 11 PM it got extremely hot like the heat was rising every minute. No matter how much we turned the air down it stayed in the 80° section. The next day it was in the 90° area so me and my mom and sister went to the pool they have to cool off then we went to the ocean and while we were there my dad was at the room with these guys to work on the AC. They said that the AC couldnt be fixed and that they had to fix it once in 2018 too and once the week before we were there and they didnt even tell us that on the description of the room. Been going for years. I am scheduled for the week of June 7, 2020. With all the riots going on, I asked to reschedule-with a firm no from them. I will be traveling alone and my sister is traveling from Atlanta and flat out refuses to come. They asked if I could get someone to come with me--their solution. Have been holding family reunions every other year at the Anchorage II since 1989. Each year the number of units we rent grows and this year we were at 15 condos. Hands down a fantastic location, very quiet and the beach is just 100 feet away. Beach is great, private for Anchorage II guests and the ocean is always warm. Nice private pool when you get too hot at the ocean or just need a relaxing dip.The N. 57th street location is perfect to go south into busy Myrtle Beach or north to North Myrtle Beach. Most units are nice and have been undated over the years with new kitchens and baths. What you see on their web site is an example of a nice condo. However, there are still a few units that are original and have had little or no upgrades like condo unit 304. They charge the same price for 304 as they do for a nice unit. I would highly suggest asking about the condo quality and what upgrades have been made over the years because if not you will pay the same for lesser quality. The only other issue our family had was the WiFi didn't work very well and I am being kind. You could connect but not be able to get web pages to come up or if they did if would take a few minutes like you were back in the 1990's. It is my understanding they are trying to get this corrected. Overall a great place to bring your family. I would provide a 4 or 5 stars but every 2 years we seem to get a few condo units that are lower quality than the rest. The Foster's who handle the rentals are very nice people and provide good service. However, they continue to handle a few condo's that don't meet the quality they advertise. Enjoy! read more

I don't know who would be more qualified to write a review at the Anchorage II than myself. We have been coming down to the Anchorage for 30 years. We missed a few years in there but our first stay was in 1983. Its now 2013 and we just returned from there again. Let me start with location. Its pretty much in the middle of Myrtle and North Myrtle in the "Ocean Forest" area of Myrtle Beach. You are hidden away from all the chaos Myrtle Beach. Very little traffic and close to everything. The beach is just a walk across the street. The Anchorage has a private beach access with 2 large gazebos. The atmosphere is VERY family oriented. Like i said before, my family has been coming down since i was 6 years old. I now bring my two children down every year. The layout of the condos is in the shape of a U and the pool is in the center. One thing that i find as a major bonus is that there is a lot of grassy areas to play Frisbee or whatever. Parking is never a problem and there are 2 elevators as well as wheelchair accessible ramps. There is about 50-60 units so there isn't a ton of people and some of those units are private and never rented out. The landscaping is beautiful and kept up very well. There is free wireless internet available everywhere, including the pool. The interior of the condos are excellent. Each one is privately owned and has its own decorating style. we have stayed in several different units over the years. The first two floors are 2 bedroom units with 2 full baths. The third floor has 3 bedroom / 2 Bath condos (with a 4th floor loft bedroom with its own balcony). The 3rd bedroom is like a loft. It has half walls so you can look down into the dining area (not very private). Each unit has the standard kitchen, dining area, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and living area with TV (I think most have updated LCD TV mounted on the wall). I believe most of the units have a sofa which folds out into an extra bed. The condo we stayed at had 4 LCD TVs in the family room and bedrooms. One thing to remember, you need to bring dish washing soap, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. Its just like moving into an apartment for a week. There's isn't a restaurant or bar located on the premises, BUT in the Forest Dunes resort (a 60 second walk away) next door has a little place to relax (they even have trivia on Thursday evenings which my family found quite fun). We have walked over there for lunch in the past and the food was pretty decent, plus they have a full bar. Lastly, the price for this condos is excellent compared to what other places charge. we have strayed from the anchorage a few times in the past and nothing in the area compares to this place. Oh, one more thing. Again this depends on the owners of the condo, but most condos have an outside locker where the owners put their own beach chairs and floatation devices (body boards, noodles, skim boards, etc) for guests to use at the beach or pool. I've really enjoyed the convenience of where are room is located and how close it is to the beach! It's so close! I love the location. Close to broadway and everything there is to do! Great location! However while booking we booked a completely different room, the pictures are NOTHING of what they said the room was like. It's very very outdated and I feel like I'm staying at my grandpas house. But not every condo is this way. Most are up to date! But that's really my only complaint. read more

This was our first time to Anchorage ll and we absolutely loved it. The place is clean and it has everything you can possibly need for a wonderful vacation. The kids loved the pool and stayed there from morning to night. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Myrtle Beach. I also loved the fact that it is away from all the craziness of S.Ocean Blvd. The beach is wonderful too with a very nice life guard who sets up the chairs with umbrellas at 7:30am.
