I enjoyed our 6 night stay at Sun Outdoors. We were on the older side as there was still gravel in lot A-79 and A-80 the only downfall is that it tracked dirt inside the RV so I would encourage booking closer to the splash pads. I used the fitness center often while there and enjoyed the options. My husband used the laundry area which was convenient as we didn't have to travel back home with dirty laundry. Nightly activities felt a bit dry but still enjoyed the variety of music. We enjoyed the Italian ice, pizza and mini donuts. Trash pick-up was super convenient as it was daily! Highly recommend booking this RV resort.

Nice park but the reservation process is ridiculous unless you pay an extra $40 to reserve a specific site. Ocean lakes or Pirate Land do not require this. We first booked sites across from each other but they "optimized" sites and stuck us in A area and our daughter back in D area. Best part is that both sites we booked remained open all weekend. So I guess optimization means for us to drive back and forth from the front of the park to the back and add traffic unnecessarily.

Our second year visiting Sun outdoors Myrtle beach. The WiFi was much better this year. Our kids love this place and perfect for families that love the outdoors. Pickleball, volleyball, cornhole, mini golf, heated pools, hot tubs, basketball, and more - so much to do. It's a clean park, staff are friendly and helpful. Rules are not enforced but we always felt safe. On site prices are a little steep but not outside the normal for tourist prices.

The absolute best RV resort I've ever been to. It's hard to believe that you're in Myrtle Beach with all of the amenities, you feel like you are on a tropical island. Make sure you see Ashley at the bar who makes a mean Pina Colada and Orange Crush. She's the best! We will definitely be back!

Favorite campground ever!! Been coming for a few years now, amazing to watch it expand. Resturant is amazing, serves actual resturant-quality food. Themed weekend are high quality, on weekdays they have scheduled events that keep the fun going. Extremely clean, organized, and professional. Was here during tropical storm debby. They worked hard to keep us updated on safety concerns, whilst still moving activities indoors, and creating special deals for thos who st

My wife and I have recently retired. We have an RV and decided to go south for the winter months. The decision to stay at CP was an absolute great experience. The staff there were 5 stars, so when we decided to book again, Jodi ,a staff members and Anthony help us find the perfect spot. They were so accommodating. I want to thank them both for assisting us in our process. We are looking forward to seeing them and spending another winter at CP's.

Secondly, this was previously a KOA and is not a newer campground. I visited in a 40 ft motorhome and was placed in one of the smaller spots from what I can see walking around as many sites were of nice size. The site picnic tables are concrete so unable to move them and mine was placed at the very front of my site making it useless unless you want to be roadside attraction. It didn't take me long to understand why when I wanted to put my awning out and bring out my chairs I would be sitting on top of my neighbors sewer and electrical box, yes, they were right beside my camper on the passenger side making no room for a picnic table. Therefore, no sitting outside on this trip unfortunately. As far as the "resort"......not even close. They offer no resort amenities. No concrete pads, no food service, no planned activities for the kids, a very small pool was closed for the season. So we are clear on my expectations and experiences at a true "RV Resort" they have a restaurant on property, they have concrete pads, they most often have a year round pool or hot tub, they have spacious sites, the property is well maintained, they have places around the campground you can sit and relax or have family activities. This place offered none of this but yet the price we paid during off season was more than what we pay at ocean front resorts in NC. This campground is more of a community of long term or permanent campers. Some sites need to be reeled in by the owner as they look look like a collection point of recycling. A camper at one particular sites was circled by debris doing this place no favors. The place was full of RVs, but yet we saw only about 3-5 people over a 3 day stay. The customer service over the phone was great. Very friendly and helpful. They do have a limited offering of supplies in the office. The price point from my experiences here would be more realistic at $30-40 off season and 50-60 during peak. We paid $80 off season. This will not happen again as there are choices in the area where the prices are more balanced with offerings for a visit with family who live in the area.

Since it was December I only booked a few weeks before but I'm sure during peak season you'll have to book earlier. There are 100+ sites that have a concrete pad with a picnic table and fire pit. Check-in was simple but know there are two entrances and one is locked until you get a code. Devon at the front desk was very friendly. She shared some area activities and restaurants. The park was clean, well organized and there was a lot of large RV's. It has a beautiful view of the intracoastal with decks, a trail around a small pond, kayak rentals, dog park and activities hall. We missed all their Christmas events but enjoyed walking around and hanging out at our site. We used the fire pit every night for dinner. They also have a bathhouse with separate bathrooms which was nice but could use a little refreshing. The staff was awesome cleaning the grounds and they even had daily trash pickup from your site. We will definitely come back to this park.

It felt like we were asking a dumb question every time we asked something. Charging $100/day for a golf cart rental is wild behavior. Half of the splash pad didn't work and the ground needed a really good pressure wash. The hours of everything is odd - I've never stayed at any campground where the camp store closes at 4pm? Our last KOA 2 weeks ago, it closed at 7pm and their shuttle went until 9:30pm...so having a "shuttle" to the beach that stops at 3:30 in the afternoon is dumb and useless. To be honest I was a little worried based off of some of the negative reviews and moving such a far distance. My experience turned out to be completely different than what some of the reviews stated. We were welcomed by Ruth and she made it very comfortable from the beginning. Keep in mind this a full time RV park and not a campground, so that means everyone around you is living there and not there for the night. They ask is to keep you site clean and presentable, don't cause a ruckus, stay on the gravel lot so you are not tearing up the grass with your vehicle & the most basic of them all is pay your rent on-time. This is all basic neighborly etiquette that you would find anywhere else especially in an HOA. The monthly prices are phenomenal even if you are on a lot where you pay your own electric. We stayed for 4 months and would have stayed longer if we didn't buy a house. I also want to shout out Melissa who was an amazing neighbor and who has recently started working in the office with Ruth. She has been a huge help with any questions we may have had and her family helps ensure the upkeep of the property. One of my favorite things about this place is the amount of property in the community and not having to leave the community to go for long evening walks with the dogs. On my last day I went in to take care of my electric for the month and Ruth had a check for my deposit refund waiting for me. We had a terrible experience at this RV park. On Memorial…read moreDay weekend my children were playing with some children who were staying across the way. A black lab mix dog wandered into the Gathering, and seemed friendly. The kids pet the dog several times. The dog then wandered over to where the other family was preparing food, and began growling. They shooed the dog away. As the dog walked down the road and back through the area where the kids were playing, my three-year-old daughter was behind the dog. She was not particularly close, or going after the dog, she was just playing with the kids. Suddenly the dog whipped around and lunged at her face. Luckily the dog did not break skin because my daughter fell to the ground. The dog did not continue to try to attack. However, my daughter was left with a large bruise in the center of her forehead. My husband grabbed the dog by the collar and returned him to his owner, told him he needed to keep his animal on leash and that the dog had bitten my daughter. He also made the RV park owner aware and that's where things really started to go south. Earl didn't seem very concerned about the fact that the dog had been wandering loose, but told my husband to let him know if we saw it happen again. When we did a few weeks later, filmed the dog, and went to Earl, Earl got angry with my husband and told him that the dog had an electronic shock collar on and that that was good enough for him. My husband stopped by the office a few days later and spoke with the female owner Barbara when it was time for us to pay our next month's rent. She accepted the rent from us, and my husband had a conversation with her apologizing for being a little hot-headed when he spoke to Earl this last time, in which Barbara discovered that the dog was being allowed to wander loose and was not pleased- because then the dog could poop anywhere and the owner would not pick it up. My husband went back to our camper. Shortly thereafter Earl came knocking at our door trying to return our rent money. He said he didn't like us telling him how to run his business. (In other words, his wife had probably lit into him about this whole fiasco and he wasn't happy with us for telling on him) My husband talked to him and calmed things down and left that conversation thinking everything was all good. Things were uneventful til mid-month when we had to haul our trailer out and take it to the RV dealership for repairs. When we left we told Barbara that we would call them shortly to let them know when the trailer would be finished and if we would like another month, She said that was fine. A little over a week ago our trailer was finished being repaired and I called Barbara from Raleigh to let her know we would like to pay for another month. She asked me to hold on a moment, at which point she sat the phone down and I could hear muffled conversation. She then disconnected the call. I called back over 25 times in the next two days, and my calls were never picked up. We also left a voice message. We came back into town, and dropped the RV at my parents driveway. The next morning my husband went to the RV park with cash in hand to pay the rent and secure our space for the next month. At that point Earl told him that they weren't going to allow us to rent another month because he did not like people telling him how to run his business. My husband said that's not what he was trying to do, but Earl continued to be aggressive with so he turned to walk back to his truck, and did say to Earl as he was going, "You know what, you're an asshole." At this point Earl ran up behind my husband and punched him in the back of the head with a closed fist. My husband is a disabled veteran that has had two previous head injuries. After being struck, my husband decided it was the right time to call the police. As he went to his truck and tried to dial nine-one-one Earl came up inches from his face and began screaming and yelling at him and continuing to threaten him. My husband got into his truck and drove off to wait for the sheriff at the Walmart parking lot. We have since filed a charge for Simple Assult with a court date in Mid September. In addition, the second site they moved us to was low lying. In full disclosure, we have had a crazy unusual amount of rain this season, but slot 39C and the slots beside it have sewage backup issues. The black water backed up multiple times during our stay and there were literal turds in our "backyard". Yuck. Tl;Dr: Don't stay here. A dog allowed to run unattended with the park owner's knowledge bit my daughter and they didn't care, the black water backs up with too much rain, and the owner physically assaulted my husband.

I wish I had gotten the representative's name because I was trying to purchase my Fast Pass. Unfortunately, because my reservation was now only 12 days away instead of 14, the price had increased from $12 per day to $15 per day. My primary reason for calling was that one of our vehicles would not be on the property for the entire stay, and I did not want to pay for days it would not be used. I will admit that I was very upset and not as pleasant as I normally would have been. After months of trying to reach the reservation line, dealing with the loss of a family member, and then learning I had to pay more because I had been unable to get through sooner, my frustration got the best of me. What pushed me over the edge was being told, "Well, you could have called in June when the reservation was sent." I did. Even so, I do not believe hanging up on a customer is ever an appropriate way to handle a situation. Every customer deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect, even during a difficult conversation. I had not visited Ocean Lakes for several years because of previous issues, including having items stolen while staying on the property. I decided to give it another chance, hoping things had improved. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced me that after this stay, I will not be returning. It does not matter whether a business is family-owned or corporate-owned--no customer should ever be treated this way. Good customer service means listening, showing respect, and making a genuine effort to resolve concerns. A good rule to live by is to treat every customer the way you would want your own grandparents to be treated. If that level of care and respect is not being shown, then something needs to change. Sadly, Ocean Lakes is not what it used to be. It now seems to be more focused on maximizing revenue than providing the family-friendly atmosphere and caring customer service that once made it such a special place. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that future guests do not have a similar experience. While I cannot change what happened, I believe there is an opportunity for Ocean Lakes to improve its communication, customer service, and reservation process.
