It's only been open several years. The pool was clean and relaxing, and the staff made us feel very welcome. It has one of the best designed traffic flows I have seen. You drive to the back, find your row, take a left and pull into your slot. Look on their web site if this doesn't make sense. It's super easy. Every site is a very flat concrete pad with plenty of room. All roads are asphalt and are in perfect condition. It's the easiest place to get into and out of that I have seen. They have all the expected connections at every site. No cable, but there are more than two dozen channels available via antenna. They pick up your trash. Super nice pool. Golf carts for rent. Places for kids and dogs. The grass is very nicely maintained. The place is secure with a real gate that they give you a card to open. Everything here is first rate. The staff was super nice. We got an Amazon delivery but we're off at Bald Head Island near closing time they called us about it and we said just leave it by the door... someone took the time to bring it to our site! While you are there, definitely take the ferry out to Bald Head Island. It's not far. I definitely recommend this place and honestly will say that it deserves more than five stars.

The lady on the phone said only do 2 weeks because if our house closes earlier we can't get a refund if we leave early. We checked in and asked to stay in the same spot and was told no so we had to move 14 days in. We moved to the other end of the park with a lot of open spots. Not sure I understand the move especially with all the open spots around our old one and new one. WiFi- HORRIBLE! Not sure if we have watched 1 show in 30 days without it buffering and pausing. Don't expect the wifi to hold if you have any work to do!!!! Mail/Amazon - they don't accept any deliveries. I understand that with this large of a park that's hiring a new person yet guests who stay for an extended period of time it would be nice to get something if needed. Security at front gate - some just wave you through and never look for the tag. Came in 3 times with tag on front seat and they waved me in. Printing / Community Computer - yes we are in a special situation and in need of something printed for closing. I asked if they could print off something for me and was no and to go down the street. C'mon, print something off and charge $.10 or $.25. Weekday speed traps - security sits on the road with a radar gun getting your speed. It's a little funny when it's 10MPH. Overall I still give our stay a 4 and yes I can only imagine this place is packed during the summer yet there are a few things that could change.

Very hard review due to the mixed feelings I have about this place. My first impression was over…read morethe phone when I asked about check in time I was told it is 3pm and if you want to check in before it is an additional 25 dollar fee, seriously? yes even if the site is available, ok so what do I do if my GPS takes me there and arrive at 2:40 and she said you still have to pay the 25 dollar fee or you can wait at a nearby Walmart. Gave me the impression that is not a customer friendly campground. I wasn't given the discount because I didn't ask for it, no refunds after the site has been reserved, no credits either. Upon arrival we were waiting to be checked in behind a Class A rig by the gate house and due to the size of the Class A I could not read the tiny sign indicating that if there was nobody at the gate to come inside, finally when that rig moved I realized I had to go inside, another 5 or six minutes wasted after 3pm no big deal but it adds up to my initial disconformity. The place is huge! I have never been to a campground with over 1000 sites not one hundred but one thousand! Very hard water but that is not their fault, city water. Got to our site and it looks ok but but but it is not concrete and it is not gravel, it is a combination of dirt sand and leaves. That tells me the site may have been vacant for several days and the 25 dollar fee is not even justified because I am not rushing employees to clean up the site that just became available the day of my arrival. Dirt and sand, no problem as long as there is no rain because I brought my 14 X 14 rug but guess what it rained all day the day before our departure and it was a bit of a mess even if we take our shoes off inside the coach. We didn't partake in any of the amenities available like the water park and the corn hole etc because of the convention we were attending here and BTW the facility we were given was very nice to accommodate about 80 plus of us. I take one star for the fact that my site wasn't quite level and for the dirt, it is not even gravel for goodness sake. I wouldn't call it a resort unless every site was concrete Would I come back? Yes just because the beach right there a few feet from the sites that are closest to the Information Center where we gather every day for our conference. It turns out they give a discount but they won't offer it to you unless you ASK for it and because I didn't ask at the time I booked they refused to refund because it is run by a corporation with dozens and tens of dozens of employees. Inclined to take two stars but because I had a great time with our new friends at the convention I am leaving this place very happy and wishing to come back when it is not raining ALL DAY with a bloody mess on my shoes with all the dirt and sand. Water park inside for the youngins but the dirt and sand prevents me from calling a five star resort but a four star campground

Renting one is pricey . We walked everywhere, but that do have bikes that you can use.

It was super easy to book online and they called right after to confirm and share details before we arrived. Since it was December I only booked a few weeks before but I'm sure during peak season you'll have to book earlier. There are 100+ sites that have a concrete pad with a picnic table and fire pit. Check-in was simple but know there are two entrances and one is locked until you get a code. Devon at the front desk was very friendly. She shared some area activities and restaurants. The park was clean, well organized and there was a lot of large RV's. It has a beautiful view of the intracoastal with decks, a trail around a small pond, kayak rentals, dog park and activities hall. We missed all their Christmas events but enjoyed walking around and hanging out at our site. We used the fire pit every night for dinner. They also have a bathhouse with separate bathrooms which was nice but could use a little refreshing. The staff was awesome cleaning the grounds and they even had daily trash pickup from your site. We will definitely come back to this park.

The only problem I ran into was trying to find the site itself. There are two roads named Pirateland Blvd and I drove on the wrong one about 6 times before asking for help. Since they've sold over half of the property, the laundromat is now owned and run by Carolina Shores as is the lazy river and pool. They do rent golf carts, but those are very expensive at around $75 / day. I would stay here again as I really enjoyed the beach.

Roads are very narrow and is hard to park an RV and get out with one. The amenities were too far to walk to unless you wanted to rent an overpriced golf cart rental. The WIFI kept going in and out and was not steady. So many rules; I read every one of them on the website and it felt like reading a book. The only good things were an easy walk to the beach and the helpful neighbor. With the other things listed, I would not recommend.

They make you pay in full up front and if you don't cancel more than 14 days out you lose half your money. So for 3 nights we lost over $150. Imagine if you book a week or more how much you would lose. Not worth it. How could we cancel in time with the Nor Easter as no one knew that far in advance. Worse yet is when we cancelled we asked them to pass our dissatisfaction on to the owners and they said this is the most common complaint and the owners DON'T CARE! Will never consider this campground again.

To be honest I was a little worried based off of some of the negative reviews and moving such a far distance. My experience turned out to be completely different than what some of the reviews stated. We were welcomed by Ruth and she made it very comfortable from the beginning. Keep in mind this a full time RV park and not a campground, so that means everyone around you is living there and not there for the night. They ask is to keep you site clean and presentable, don't cause a ruckus, stay on the gravel lot so you are not tearing up the grass with your vehicle & the most basic of them all is pay your rent on-time. This is all basic neighborly etiquette that you would find anywhere else especially in an HOA. The monthly prices are phenomenal even if you are on a lot where you pay your own electric. We stayed for 4 months and would have stayed longer if we didn't buy a house. I also want to shout out Melissa who was an amazing neighbor and who has recently started working in the office with Ruth. She has been a huge help with any questions we may have had and her family helps ensure the upkeep of the property. One of my favorite things about this place is the amount of property in the community and not having to leave the community to go for long evening walks with the dogs. On my last day I went in to take care of my electric for the month and Ruth had a check for my deposit refund waiting for me.
