If Pier 1 and TJ Maxx (furniture/decor area) shared a place to store their goodies it might be called At Home. Wow! Literally a warehouse full of purdy things to decorate your home! You can find patio furniture, rows and rows of bar/counter stools, occasional chairs, plants, art, rugs, mirrors, holiday decor, nicknacks, lamp shades...you have to come and check it out for yourself too many things to name. I came in to look for barstools and rugs but I didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I did walk out with a modern Ghost Chair which I love and a much needed lampshade! So you never know what treasure you might find. Service here on the floor is literally nonexistent but maybe that's what keeps prices so low? This is my husbands worst nightmare but my fav place to 'adult'. The only downside is the time spent. You can make an effort to shave off less time. Make a list beforehand, don't grab a cart so you don't purchase too much, and go on a week day before 5:00 to avoid the never ending lines. Unfortunately, this only works for me half the time. The other half, I'm crawling out of there 3 hours later like an extra in The Walking Dead. I find myself wondering into At Home during the Christmas season. Knowing that I will receive, at least, four candles and two packages of perfume (which I can't wear), this is where I come to find UNIQUE presents for all of my friends and family. Kitchen supplies, neat wall hangings, aisle of decorative boxes and hollow books, lampshades, rugs, and fake plants as far as the eye can see ~~~ It is very easy to find something that calls out to you, "Aunt Mary would love me! Buy me right now!" And Aunt Mary did love her gift. She always does. The other two reviews are correct: There are no workers walking around to help with questions or safety hazards. Once I found a broken picture frame on the floor and had to wonder all the way to the front cashiers to let them know. I went in for the first time, last Saturday. It was a beautiful day so I thought shoppers would be out and about. I walked in, saw a cute display, helped another customer try and find a price on the item she was looking at, never could, so we both went on our way. When I walked in, I remembered how big the place was going to be because it used to be Garden Ridge Pottery. A quick stop in the restroom and I was disgusted. It was filthy to say the least. Leaving, I stopped at the picture frame aisle near the restrooms. These were not really large, but they did have a nice selection and as long as you check the item carefully for damage, you could find a nice gift frame. I looked at 50% off Halloween, and Christmas pillows. The price sign was misleading or maybe just confusing to me and two others who were shopping. Truthfully, I felt so overwhelmed, there was absolutely no help on the floor to ask questions to anywhere in site, except at the cash registers. It was not worth it to try and navigate alone. On my way out, I noticed a big sign that showed the various departments, but no hand held map to carry which is a great item to have in such a large store. I will probably return to finish visiting the aisles, just not certain when. They need assistants on the floor that's for certain. read more

He finally found an employee. No uniforms just name tag. Truly cranky dude who just about snapped at him. We wanted to know if they can hold a couple of big paintings since we can't fit all of them in the car. He asked us if we were paying for it. Well duh ! Of course, we just can't fit 8 paintings/wall art into a regular sized Audi. Goodness, like we were asking for a layaway. Giving us attitude like we're beneath them. If I can find prints, paintings and decor somewhere else, I would rather not come back here. I feel awful dropping $600 worth of our hard earned money after receiving such bad service. At home is the 1,000lbs gorilla of home-decorating stores. No, seriously, they should hand out maps at the front, and have little "you are here" signs so you can find your way around. This store is GIGANTIC. Literally hundreds and hundreds of rows of items, with more options than you could ever know what to choose. While I'm all for having options, I think that At Home actually crosses the line into "not helpful" simply because it's terribly hard to make a decision, there's so many options! During Christmas time about half the store turns into a Christmas wonderland, with everything from stockings and wrapping paper to trees and yard decorations. Again, finding something specific is nearly impossible, as there are not many employees available to assist, and the sheer size of the store means you'll need about an hour of browsing to find what you're looking for (if you ever find it!). Unless you've spent a lot of time here previously, I wouldn't count on being able to "run in a grab one item real quick". You'd have to put on blinders not to be distracted by all the shimmery lights and glitter literally surrounding you. Their wares aren't expensive, making them a great place for folks on a budget. However, if time is important to you or you like assistance finding things, then you might want to skip this place and check out some smaller home décor stores. read more

However I'm going to rate them a 3 simply because when I got to the checkout there were only 3 cashiers and I guess management called two more to the check out to help ring out customers. Well those two didn't look happy at all. They didn't make eye contact with the customers, didn't smile or thank anyone for shopping with them. I was a manager for over 20 years. If I was managing that store, I would quickly have a meeting and let my employees know that they need to smile, greet and make eye contact with every customer and after they ring them out they need to thank them for their business. read more

They have a bi polar stock manager who can openly barrage you with questions and attitude before you get in the door and after 3 reports I got fired for infractions that haven't stopped them from firing anyone else. I got fed up when I got in trouble for doing something I was told and when questioning it got in trouble. I normally go during the week and there is almost no line but I can't say what the line is like on the weekend. I wish they offered an ad so you could see where the sales were. Another reason for the missing star is that multiple sections are a jumbled mess where you have to dig through items to see what they have. The only reason they got two stars is because they have a pretty good Halloween selection right now. And Halloween Is My Jam. But I actually went to the store today for throw pillows. I don't mind digging through the selection because there is a big selection. Unfortunately today the store was a mess most of the selection was on the floor, but at the end of each aisle there was a clearance bin full of pillows. I will dig for clearance. So I dig through these clearance bins and I find four pillows that I like, all matchy-matchy, and I go to have them scanned. Turns out none of them are on clearance. I'm told that anything on clearance will have a sticker or a red line through the price tag. So I go back to the clearance bins and I start looking through all of them and not one pillow had a red line or clearance sticker. I could have pressed the issue and argued that per the law I had a realistic expectation as all these matching pillows were in those bins marked 50% off that they had to give them to me for that price but instead I just put them back and left with nothing. I don't have the time to waste looking for an employee or a manager who's not at the cash register in this store. They are non-existent. Im sick of this sort of crap. read more

Not a bad place to grab some everyday decorations for your home or even some holiday/seasonal items. They really have almost everything you'd need; dishes, cookware, patio furniture, rugs, tables, lamps, wall art and everything in between for decoration purposes. The displays and whatnot can be a bit disheveled, it's still presentable, but be prepared to dig through shelving and piles to move stuff around. It's definitely a pretty big warehouse, so I hope you aren't wearing uncomfortable shoes if you came to browse. The associates are really nice, but few and far between. The checkout process is a bit slow since they usually have just one, maybe two cashiers, but the associates work as quickly as possible. I'm definitely a regular shopper here since they constantly get in new items. I never know what I'm going to find! read more

Perhaps if you have big bucks and can afford to shop in The Woodlands, you might find this store lacking class -- but for bargain hunters like me, the place is a treasure trove!! Yes, it may be a bit short on sales personnel, but that helps to keep their prices reasonable. This store is HUGE, so wear comfortable shoes, know your prices, and plan on spending a considerable amount of time just wandering around doing hands-on browsing. "Shopping" as entertainment has almost disappeared with the arrival of the internet. In my day (I'm pushing 80), people would go cruising from store to store, "just looking" at new styles, getting decorating ideas, seeing what's trending, etc. Now they do all that online with their fingers, supposedly saving time and money -- which will then be spent on a gym membership. At Home combines exercise with entertainment. You walk, you pan through some gravel....until there it is....a gold nugget! That spells F-U-N in my book. I think this is a GREAT place!! read more
