I am still dealing with issues from December 2025! Do not step foot in this store, and absolutely do not work with Jordan. What was supposed to be a standard phone promotion turned into a total scam. I fell for so many hidden fees disguised as promotions that I'm now paying for monthly!! I was told accessories were "free" if I spent over $85, and that I only had to pay the tax. That was a lie! I am now stuck making monthly finance payments on them. He added an entirely new line to my account, disguising the extra charge as a new "turbo service". Supposed to boost my signal and I wasn't going to have to pay for it. Most frustratingly, my trade-in phone, valued at over $1,000, was never applied to my bill. I have been calling AT&T customer service for over a year. It has been an endless loop of case after case with zero resolution. This store completely takes advantage of its customers. After reading all the nightmare experiences reported by others, I was a bit apprehensive about coming to this location. Since it's only a mile from my house, I decided I would give it a try and walk out if anything didn't seem right. Thankfully, I'm pleased to say that I didn't end up having the same experience as many others have reported having in their reviews. My daughter and I came in about a half hour before closing and were greeted right away by Natty who was the only employee there. We needed to do a simple phone upgrade. She was helpful and knowledgeable and addressed our needs ensuring we ended up paying as little out of pocket as possible. I returned the very next day to turn in my daughter's old phone after setting up her new one, and again had a great experience. This time the store was busier and there were several employees working. Natty was busy with another customer so Daniel and another associate helped me with my trade in. Both were helpful and polite and made the process easy. I got top dollar for my trade in as promised, and was on my way in no time. Husband went to this store to do it, and they would not cancel it--and then they refused to document that we tried to go into the store to cancel so I could refute the charge with AT&T Customer Service. I didn't notice until my next bill showed up with charges I couldn't explain. When I called AT&T customer service to get it fixed, I was told I had "agreed" to the line -- which is simply not true. To make things worse, I was told I'm stuck paying for this line for three months before I'm even allowed to remove it. I've called multiple times hoping someone would actually listen and correct the error, but instead I keep getting the same scripted response. This feels like a deliberate upsell tactic disguised as a "mistake," and now I'm being forced to pay for a service I never wanted or authorized. Horrible customer service. The first red flag i should have realized was we were not even greeted or acknowledged when we entered the store. We understand the employees were attending other customers, so we waited patiently near the entrance. 30 minutes go by and when we finally are attended to by Xavier. Our situation is we would like to explore opening a business account and without much effort, Xavier tells us we need to call their corporate line at 611. Long story short, we call 611 and they tell us we need to go into one of their corporate stores which this store was recommended! We explain we just came from there and we were instructed to call 611. This brings me back to the lack of effort of this store. I am writing this review while on the phone with an AT&T representative who informed me that the Ladera Ranch store is an authorized reseller but not a corporate store, and as such, AT&T has little to no control over policy or the manner in which they are selling, fraudulent, unethical, or not, which is concerning. I was also advised that the policy is stated on receipts AFTER the transaction, and if there is an issue, you can invoke buyer's remorse; however, that needs to be addressed at a corporate AT&T location, which in my area is located at 23842 El Toro Road. Here's why I am giving zero to 1 star: We went into the Ladera Ranch store to look at the iPhone 17 Pro. At the time, we repeatedly shared that we were not interested in a contract as we had AT&T for over 25 years, contracts lapsed years ago, our plan was fine even though connectivity can be spotty, and not interested. We were assured that if we traded in our existing iPhones, we would not only receive credit but, being long-standing customers with AT&T, would not be forced into a contract, etc. I kept seeing the contract clause or odd fees or credits on my invoice, last month I was told it was in error, this month, I learned all of the above but that we are in a contract for 3 years and that if I cancelled my contract, I would actually be paying $1300 plus my $250 trade ($1550) in value for a phone that sells at Apple for $1099. Having purchased all other iPhones directly from Apple, I never had these issues, even with an AT&T subscription. I tried to obtain an email address to contact corporate, but that, too, is elusive. There's nothing he knew that could be of a problem with it that I was gonna buy a new phone, but we didn't even get that far because he was beyond rude. We stopped by this location the day after Thanksgiving to switch our personal phone plan over to a business account. I understand it was a busy day, and there were quite a few customers waiting, but no one acknowledged us when we walked in--not even a quick "we'll be right with you," which would've gone a long way. When we finally spoke with an associate, we were told we needed to call the 611 number for help. We were a little confused since we were already in the store hoping to speak with someone directly. Unfortunately the interaction felt a bit dismissive, and when we did call 611, they actually told us we needed to go in-store for this type of account change. We decided to try another AT&T location (the San Clemente store at the outlets), and the experience there was completely different--in the best way. They understood exactly what we needed and helped us right away. If you're looking for knowledgeable and friendly service, definitely ask for Nelly at the San Clemente store! This was on Saturday, October 19th at about 2pm. I came to this store as it was the only one around that had the phone I wanted, in stock, for the kid. DO NOT COME HERE, BUT IF YOU INSIST, MAKE SURE YOU ASK IF THEY ARE RIPPING YOU OFF BEFORE YOU CHECK OUT. As you can see from other reviews I am not alone in the experience I had with this store. Same as others have said, after purchasing a phone I was informed by AT&T via text that "I had signed up" for Next Up and Device Insurance, before I even pulled out of the parking lot! Absolutely not. I went back into the very busy store and stood by the person who had helped me check out. The first person to help me and then passed me on to the second person saw me and came over to me to ask me if there was an issue. Much to the chagrin of waiting customers in line who obviously thought they were next and really were, I stood there as I wanted help immediately for this nonsense. When the guy came up to me, I told him that I received a text from ATT that I had signed up for the Next Up program and the Device Insurance. He told me that these were automatically added to new phones when purchased. I told him that was surprising, since I just got myself a new phone recently and these were not added automatically. He said the only way to change it would be in the App or by calling ATT customer service. In the car I looked around the app and could not figure out where to cancel both, so I left. Almost home, since it was a drive for me to get an in-stock phone in Ladera Ranch, I stopped at my local ATT store (an ATT corporate store, see note below). Thankfully they were not busy. I spoke to a sales person to see if he could help me. After explaining the situation, he said I needed to have the manager of the Ladera store do the change or call into customer service. The ATT sales person went on to say that "the Ladera store sales person was outright lying, as these programs are not added automatically." He then recommended that I skip calling the store manager and call directly into customer service, have the plans cancelled and then log a complaint for "Unauthorized Account Changes". The ATT sales guy at my local store apologized profusely and of course I told him, I was not holding this against him or even ATT. As you can see from the reviews, this is a store scam promoted or accepted by the store management. What a waste of my time calling into ATT customer service to work this out. The protection insurance was removed right away, but I have to wait 14 days and then remember to call back in to have the Next Up removed. What a hassle and what a waste of my time as a result of some actions by crooks. Time spent on the phone with customer service and then time to fill out the complaint form and now righting this lengthy, warning to potential victims out there. Just a note that was mentioned in another review and I verified, this place is an "authorized dealer", not an ATT corporately owned store. So, even with my complaint to ATT, likely there is nothing that will be done. I guess that's why so many complaints and no action from ATT. On the ATT site you can search for stores and you should use the filter, "Company Owned Stores". Don't Go. Run. Run the other way!!! Just as I was about to submit this review I received update from ATT's Fraud Dept and I had a conversation with Customer Service: + Fraud Dept - stated that this was not fraud and they are closing the case. WHAT? It is the definition of fraud. Guess they don't care that their stores are "fraudulently" adding services without customer permission. This is the reason that this store continues to do this to their customers. + Customer Service - cancelled the device insurance, but the Next Up service cannot be cancelled for 14 days for the "buyer's remorse" period. BUYER BEWARE! They are crooks! My poor dad got scammed into adding extra phone lines that have never been used. They use sales manipulation tactics that are dishonest and unjust! My father come here thinking they will help him and are working in his best interest , and they took advantage of him. This is elderly abuse. Based on all the reviews of this store, you would think AT&T would do something as they are horrible representatives of the brand. All I have to say is that if an employee whose name begins with an X and ends with an R is helping you here, run. We had purchased my wife a new iphone online and were instructed to pick up the phone at this location. All we had to do was show up with our ID and it would be ready. Should have known something was up when as soon as we were done online we get a phone call and a text from this employee at the store urging us to come in because he departs at 7pm even though the store is open till 8pm. When we arrive, he begins to inform my wife that he was going to have to cancel our online order, issue a credit, run a credit check and sell us the phone all over. When asked why, he came up with the excuse that their online system was down and he was just doing us a favor so we could get the phone immediately. He then proceeds to tell my wife that her plan is an old plan and in order to get the phone, she was going to have to change her plan to a more current one. At which point we left. I went to the San Clemente store to pick up my iphone I ordered at the same time and was directed there. Walked in, gave ID, walked out with the phone. Easy. Went back to the Ladera store one hour after leaving to deal with this employee. His associate actually greeted me, asked X****r if he was helping me at which point X****r acted like he didn't know me. This new associate took my ID, walked to the back room, came out with the phone and everything was done. Easy. I feel bad for anyone that X****r has unethically screwed over with his bait and switch tactic to get him some kind of commission. Funny enough, the San Clemente store knew of Ladera's reputation when we told them so this is a common issue. AT&T needs to address this. read more

I am writing to file a SERIOUS COMPLAINT regarding my recent experience at the AT&T retail store in LADERA RANCH CA , December 2025 involving an employee representative named XAVIER! What occurred goes far beyond poor customer service and rises to the level of fraudulent, deceptive, and unethical conduct. During my visit, Xavier misrepresented pricing, added unauthorized add-ons, and fraudulently opened a new line on my account without my permission or misinformed consent. I was explicitly lied to about the charges, the services being added, and the actions being taken on my account. At no point did I authorize these additional services or the opening of a new line without needed all due Xavier focuses on his commission. To make matters worse, another existing line on my account was manipulated or misused specifically to justify opening a new line for his benefit to increase his monthly December 2925 commission again without my approval. This appears to be a deliberate act intended to inflate sales numbers at my expense. When I later confronted him twice in the store in ladera ranch - XAVIER about these unauthorized changes, he completely denied taking any of these actions, despite clear evidence on my account showing otherwise. Instead of offering help or accountability, I was given the runaround, met with gaslighting, and repeatedly told things that were demonstrably untrue. At no point did XAVIER take responsibility, offer a resolution, or make any genuine attempt to correct the situation. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disturbing. Being lied to directly, SO DECEITFUL EMPLOYEE having services added without consent, and then being gaslit when trying to resolve the issue is unacceptable and completely undermines trust in AT&T as a company. RUN! I should have looked at the YELP reviews before walking into this store. Stupid ME! After the aggravation of the last 15 days I am compelled to write this review. I would give ZERO stars if I could. I had met Lucas, the manager of this location, at the San Juan Capo location about eight weeks ago. I was initially impressed by his demeanor and thought of him to be a stand-up guy. My husband and I decided to buy two new Iphones and change to a plan that better suited our needs. We really thought he was telling us the truth about what we were receiving, but he was not at all truthful. After seeing our bill had TRIPLED, we went in a couple of hours later so he could help explain why the estimate was so high. It turns out that he was spun the situation to placate us so we would believe all the details of services were accurate on uur account (Per Lucas, he said he wanted to help us out as he was not allowed to sell and put the order under a "Mario"). It turn out that there were add-on's such as insurance for 4 lines (we only have ever had two lines) that we did not authorize (it was never presented to us) and a Next Up Plan that we did not authorize, nor presented, either. We went back TWICE and he lied to our faces, saying that AT&T automatically adds these on immediately and that he checks on the credits once a month. He says he received emails for his customers to check on things. Those statements were lies! It was not AT&T who adds on these fees; it was Lucas who did this using Mario's tablet. AT&T Mobility and Cancellation advised us that what happened to us was wrong. There is never protocol that of checking for credits to our account at a retail location on a monthly basis! I have been around long enough to know when your gut is screaming that I needed to listen to it. The statements that Lucas was telling me ("don't open up your email or you will be charged, watch out for the texts- don't open them to you'll be charged, etc... LIES!) still didn't sit well with me. I called AT&T Mobility Loyalty and Cancellation. I have spoke to five different reps and they each told me that authorized dealers (not corporate stores) do this all the time (adding services and insurance). It should be noted that I have been with AT&T since they took over LA Cellular and Cingular Service over 20 years ago. Never has a problem until now. This has got to be the worst experience I have ever had! I feel like a dumb*** because I gave Lucas $20 to buy lunch for himself thinking he was a good guy. Boy, was I wrong! Guess he needs the commission so badly for this location. That $20 is gone but the stain, aggravation, hassle factor, and friction is permanent. Originally I would have given this store no stars. I purchased an iPhone 16 in May during a special where if you trade in your iPhone 14 you get $1,000 but unfortunately the store incorrectly sent in my iPhone 14 without the correct documentation so its been months of hours on the phone with AT&T trying to correct this. Not was it until I met with Seth, that I felt that I had help and stuff began to move in the right direction. Seth was the first person willing and able to help. He truly worked with me and was apologetic for the miscommunication, and communicated with me at each step which made all the difference. It was a nightmare experience but Seth was the bright light at the end of the tunnel. He was able to work through multiple channels to get this resolved and I'm so grateful. Seth went above and beyond and was truly invaluable and the reason I was able to get my rightful credit. Thank you so much, Seth! This store has two employees commenting faurd on my account. I went in with an minor issue with my phone. With in 15 minutes, they added a second line and a warranty and changed my plan. They made a few mistakes and and it popped up on my account. From a $48 month to a $265 bill. I contacted AT&T to report this. I eventually went to the store to as for assistance to correct the billing. This store let me set there for over 2 hr without the supervisor not wanting to assistance. While sitting there, another senior man, told me someone added a second line to his account. The employee on the floor refused to assist him. This must me an on going issue going on taking advantage of senior citizens. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS STORE - POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES AND FRAUD! We totally got scammed by this store. First, we ordered a phone through AT&T at the end of December 2025 - it was a free upgrade to be picked up at the store - we learned later that this store is an authorized retailer but not actually AT&T. The store employee canceled the order without our consent, claiming "computer issues". We then went to the store in early January 2026 to acquire the upgrade directly so we didn't have to wait for the phone to be shipped to our house. The store employee was very aware that this was solely for an upgrade, and signed us up for a NEW phone and NEW line, NOT the upgrade. I called immediately (that day) when a 2nd line was discovered and attempted to reach a manager, and the store employees hung up on me, and despite trying other stores to communicate my issue and need for assistance, no manager returned my call. We filed a complaint directly with AT&T's loyalty department who told us that they would resolve the issue and cancel the 2nd line. I have called AT&T several times on this issue. We are now 4 months in on this issue, the 2nd line is not canceled and we are still being billed by AT&T - including significant over charges for international phone usage for 2 lines! I was told on January 9, 2026 by AT&T's loyalty department who took my complaint against the store that the issue would be resolved, and today I am being told that if AT&T cancels the unapproved line, they will charge us for the phone. This was never communicated by AT&T. This is unbelievable. Hours wasted and unapproved charges billed by AT&T to resolve the issue the store employee created, and no resolution. I have tried again to reach a manger or the owner of the Ladera Ranch store to get some help and the phone just rings. It's hard to understand how these companies can stay in business with these poor & fraudulent business practices fraud. We are stuck. We cancel AT&T and AT&T will now charge us hundreds for a phone that was to have been an upgrade. Ridiculous! read more

Not surprised to see the reviews here... just created a new wireless and home internet plan over the phone which included moving a line from Verizon, creating a new line for my iPad, and lastly trying to move my line from my fathers AT&T account to my new account. To move my line the rep on the phone told me I must visit a store. The employee on 3/3/26 at 3pm first did not greet me and then when I asked for help he didn't have the curtesy to look up from the computer. He said under his breath "we don't do that here" and I need to do it online. I said well I was told I have to come in to the store when transferring from an ATT account to another ATT account. I was sent on my way and wasted a trip/time as he simply didn't want to help or is incompetent. Now I need to go to another store to help because when switching a line from account to account it is not as simple as requesting a release and getting a pin.. More impressive than the store, the people. Manager Justin was polite enough to assist me in a kind and caring manner, hearing me out and answering my questions even though I was (I thought) likely to head to Costco to make the additions (I didn't). Kudos to Fallon as well. Once I made the purchase, rather than a hard sell on add ons, she discussed the value in adding one particular option (a screen protector guaranteed for life) and after hearing her thoughts, I was convinced. Not by a hard sell, rather, a consultative approach. People are the difference makers in the world we live in today. Never visiting again...on my first visit I added service for my sons Apple Watch and the next day I noticed on my bill that they added insurance which is the same price as the service monthly... without asking me. I visited again on Saturday with my brother who upgraded his phone...once again a few days later we realize they added insurance as well as the Next Up service WITHOUT asking for our permission or even asking if we wanted these services. Is this a normal process at AT&T? Not sure how this acceptable. And this is the last time I will visit this store. read more

Absolute worst location I've been to I don't know what is wrong with AT&T and why the representatives just don't help the customers. I just switched over to AT&T and honestly it was the worst decision I've ever made. I used to be with Verizon and I had no complaints about the service with Verizon. Everything was good. The only reason I switched over was for the promotion for a trade-in and they'll pay off my remaining balance. I've come into this store because the other store on La Paz hasn't been really helping me. I came in to apply for the gift card and to trade in my phone because I had the new phone shipped to me. The white guy who is a Manager tall light brown hair greeted me at the door and he said we'll be right with you. I sat down and waited an hour then the brunette girl that's short and white with her hair tied back in a bun helped three people before me and I even said excuse me I was here before him and she said yeah, but we wanna help him really quick with his problems because he's just shipping out a phone. IT DOESN'T MATTER I WAS HERE BEFORE HIM and then when she finally got to me, I was on the phone with my doctor for two minutes to try to make an appointment for my surgery Because it took so long and before the office closed because I didn't have time earlier because again I just got off of work and In the meantime while I wait, I could get something done.she finally told me she could help me And I was trying to do two things at once because I didn't wanna lose my spot. She said it's OK. You can finish your phone call. It literally ended 30 seconds after she said that and then walked away and started helping someone else after I've already been waiting an hour and she helped three people after I already walked in ridiculous I honestly said thanks so much. Have a good day and walked out and they didn't even hear me. They disregard the customers and the employees have no care in the world for their customers is ridiculous. I do not recommend this location at all retrain the employees or just shut down the shop because there's honestly no point I'm wasting all of my gas from driving around from location to location on a Friday after work. read more

Warning! Don't go to this store! The workers must get commissions so they charge you for things you don't ask for or approve. I took my niece to this store to get her cell phone switched to AT&T to put her on our family plan. We got the bill and they charged us for two new lines! two activation fees! and insurance for her phone! I don't even know how they could make that big of a mistake, we only had one phone to activate and we did not ask for insurance. I just had to waste a hour on the phone with AT&T getting all the extra charges removed. read more
