Run from AT&T if you value your time and if you think honesty matters. I purchased a bundle from them about a month ago. Direct TV showed up on the day that they said and have been wonderful with any help that was needed. The other side of the package (AT&T internet) has been nothing but painful. It is over three weeks after service should have begun at my home, and there is nothing. Thankfully, I haven't cut off my other provider. I was here on the date in the middle of June when no one showed. They had mailed me a yellow and green cable. They asked if I had wireless, which I did with my Netgear box. They never asked me about a modem. I decided since the activation date had passed and they said that it would work by 8:00pm on June 16th that I would just set it up myself. I, then, noticed their failure to include their modem for their system. I also found an email that said they would stop all service if I didn't contact them in 12 days. Of course, you can't reply to that email(dead address), and they didn't note that they didn't bother to show. I called and Heinrich told me he was a technician (that is the number on the email) and he turned me over to Tim. There was so much silence with Tim that I asked him what he was doing. He said the order had not been submitted. I asked for the supervisor. She assured me that they would arrive on Saturday July 2nd and that she had given me a discounted rate for my trouble. I called on June 30th (two days later) to narrow the 12 hour window of the tech's arrival. That is when Omar told me that there was no tech was scheduled to come to my home on Saturday. I spent 1 hour 25 minutes on the phone. Omar tried to do what he could (Case #1-426-468-9679). He transferred me to one girl who he said could help. She couldn't. She switched me to another girl, but she couldn't place the order either. After 1 hour and 25 minutes, I hung up the phone. Called back two days (7/2) later and got Raquel after two transfers and much waiting. She was very nice and said she would take care of it. She saw Omar's notes. She scheduled service for Wednesday the 6th from 8-12. She said she would call back at 1:00 to help me set it up. I was on the phone with her around 45 minutes. She told me she would send me a modem, but it might not get there in time. Yes, I had to go and buy one for $109 dollars. They were suppose to send me a $100 Visa card, but of course that is no where to be found either. When I looked online Wednesday morn, they sent me another email about not being home on Tuesday. My appointment was on Wednesday. I called this morning (Wed. 7/6) and spoke with Billy who actually did send me an email at the end of the call. Amazing. You could actually respond to it, but the techs still didn't show and nothing is working, even though I was on the phone with Billy for 43 minutes this morning and he assured me they were coming today. I was on the phone with John this afternoon after waiting 15 minutes to even get someone. He told me that registration was not completed and that was why it wouldn't work. Somehow, they couldn't get that done. I was on that call around 30 minutes and told him I would have to leave at 3:00. He told me that someone would call this evening. Surprisingly, I did get a call and was on the phone another 31 minutes. The supervisor, Teo, said that there was no way to activate today (7/6). Tech should have come. He left several times to see why he didn't come. He said at first that tech didn't have available time and then said that he just didn't show up for some reason. I would have to wait until tomorrow (7/7) to have a tech show up. I will believe it when I hear a knock at the door. We will see what tomorrow holds. AT&T has had lousy customer service and cannot even get a new customer connected. One call center has no idea what another call center is doing - total chaos and a waste of time. read more
