After being a loyal customer for over 20 years, AT&T would not let me cancel after I lost my password information. This speaks volumes about the integrity of the company. They then sent me to collections after I cut them out of my bank account. Their corporate office is embarrassment. read more

Although I have a "no solicitors" sign clearly marked on my property, I was in my garage repairing my lawn equipment. An ATT U-verse rep named LAWSON came up to me on my property and asked if he could talk to me about ATT. As it was a hot day and I was in the middle of a project, I asked him if I could finish what I am doing. He said, just because you are a RACIST, you don't have to cop that rude attitude you WHITE DEVIL. I told him I taught at DUNBAR HS (an inner city school) that I was not a racist. Mr Lawson said, that school SUCKS so you must have been a bad teacher. I tried to take a photo of his ID tag, but he kept using his clipboard to hide it. Once I lowered the phone camera from my eyes he lowered his clipboard. My phone still had the camera AAPP on so I was able to get his name from the photo of his ID tag. I called ATT customer service only to speak to the automated :What is the name of your account. After about ten minutes, I gave up and tried another approach..... I finally called pretending to be a prospective ATT customer and eventually spoke to a real person. Hanna was very pleasant and said that a supervisor would be contacting me. Use anyone else but AT&T. Wanted DIRECTV with AT&T internet.......well signing up was easy......but from then on....sheer hell. I ended up canceling the whole thing mostly due to AT&T. Worst customer service EVER!! You will talk to endless call centers all over the world and never get satisfaction to questions. Even when they say they've done something......they haven't. After canceling, they still had the audacity to call me and ask what day was good to set up service!!!! REALLY??? I CANCELED!!!!! ROBBED by AT&T uVerse and Direct TV Purchased internet & Direct TV at AT&T store on 03/05/2016 and installation was scheduled for 03/12/2016 and was assured the internet service could match my existing Time Warner for speed and consistency. AT&T failed to install internet when Direct TV was installed on 03/12/2016. Found out the Direct TV installer cut my Time Warner cables terminating my current internet service. I was assured (in person and over the phone) that Direct TV would come out on Monday and reconnect my internet. Direct TV failed to come out or call on Monday, 03/14/2016 to reconnect Time Warner internet and I missed work all day. When I complained, Direct TV wanted to come out on Tuesday 03/15/2016 to reconnect Time Warner internet which required me missing work. AT&T assured me they would install internet on Wednesday 03/16/2016 that required missing work. Rather than miss 3 days of work, I opted to wait until AT&T installed the internet on 03/16/2016 and not have Direct TV reconnect Time Warner Internet. When AT&T installed internet, I found out that only DSL was available and DSL does not handle my internet needs. I missed work on Friday, 03/18/2016 to immediately cancel the AT&T internet and Direct TV. At that time Direct TV informed me they were charging me a $480 early termination fee and that I was a satisfied customer because I did not miss work on Tuesday 03/15/2016 to have them fix my Time Warner internet. You would have thought they screwed me enough without charging me $480 for less that 7 days service! I will be telling everyone about my nightmare of an experience with AT&T and Direct TV. I will not fail to mention the rude and inconsiderate treatment of me (the CUSTOMER). read more

I have been with AT&T for nearly a year now. I had no issue with automatic payment like some but the customer service is the worst I've ever experienced! I'm planning to move away for college and needed to choose a disconnect and re installation date. I did not know how to do this alone so I used their chat application online. The idiot put the wrong disconnect date, shutting my internet off two weeks early! Normally, this would not be an issue but I have a roommate in summer courses who needs it for school work. I called the number, expecting a quick resolution but nope! They had the audacity to say, " I'm going to give it to you straight, you did this not us". However, I had to forcibly MAKE them look into the order, where they found there was an error on their part. I was livid. Not only that but they are "unable to reconnect it" and even had the audacity to ask me "can't you go two weeks without?" I told them no, I pay $80 a month and I'm not even using it for half that because of your mistake! They eventually got it sort of sorted out and were supposed to reinstall it this afternoon, the idiots sent the installation man to my NEW ADDRESS, where I won't be moving to for another TWO weeks. I don't feel like spending another 2 1/2 hours on the phone with imbeciles so I'm just leaving it. Absolutely terrible. Considering moving on to a new provider. Called to get TV and internet service and was on the phone 2 hours the first time. Two days later called again because it didn't seem right and couldn't understand the girl on the phone. Which it wasn't they had me set up with 2 companies. Well at that point I was on the phone again for 2 hours, finally talked to a supervisor and she said they would be out around 4 pm March 13th since I didn't get home from work till then. Well I got a call from the technician at 1:30 pm. He was rude and said he would have to call his boss. Never have heard anything back it is 5 30 pm . This company is ran by monkeys as far as I am concerned . I don't know what the heck is going on there but I will never bother again with them. Horrible customer service. I guess they don't need business. So hopefully we will get a better company in our area. So sad had companies are ran these days. Wasted so much of my time!!! AT&T U-verse, Direct TV. RUN AWAY! It's hard to believe that this company was once one of the most respected and admired companies in the world. If AT&T is not at the very BOTTOM in every category of BAD in customer service, product quality, and innovation, they are certainly right there with the worst of the worst. I have only been plagued by this ridiculous, inept, apathetic company for TWO months, and it already feels like forever. I was lured into their snare at a local home show, and promised great service, better programming, high speed internet, blah, blah, blah. Since we were not pleased with our Time Warner Cable service, we thought "it can only get better, right?". Wrong. Time Warner has it's problems, but NOTHING compared to the complete IDIOCY of AT&T. From the very beginning, when they failed to include requested phone service, which I NEED to run my business from my home (and AT&T finally managed to get worked out THREE WEEKS LATER), to the sloppy, third grader quality installation (one of the splitters RIGHT BY my front door dangling by a crooked screw installed about a quarter of an inch, and a lovely unsecured black coaxial cable draping down across our bedroom wall from a closet door), to the TV reception that doesn't work AT ALL if it's raining, snowing, wind is blowing, etc., to the slowest internet connection you'll probably ever witness, unless of course you travel back in time 25 or 30 years. Then there's the customer service drones, who will ask you the same question over and over until you're ready to crawl through the phone line to find them and violently shake them by their necks, only to be told you'll need to call ANOTHER number. And don't bother asking to speak to a Supervisor. That causes them to go into an endless recorded loop of "My Supervisor won't be able to help you with this. You'll need to call ..." Finally, if you DO decide to sign onto the "AT&T Torture Tour", like most people, you'll probably put your account on 'AutoPay'. I did. It didn't matter. My internet turned off unexpectedly one morning (everything ELSE still worked, strangely enough). After an hour and a half of dealing with these STUPID, STUPID PEOPLE at AT&T, I finally found this little tidbit that NO ONE at AT&T tells you about: "If you have enrolled in Automatic Bill Pay within the past 60 ( yes, SIXTY) days, it could be that enrollment has not completely processed." So, in this age of instantaneous banking, where you can take a picture of a check, and it processes to your account in a nano-second, AT&T takes TWO MONTHS to process an online payment option. If you really want to test yourself, to see JUST HOW MUCH aggravation you're able to handle, if you've decided that you want to "go off the grid" ,forsaking all electronic communications and conveniences, or if you just can't believe how BAD bad can be, go ahead, roll the dice and sign your soul over to arguably the WORST COMPANY IN AMERICA, AT&T. But, don't say that no one warned you. read more

Dublin/Hilliard OH area. So I signed up for U-verse and internet which was supposed to be installed on July 11th between 9am and 11 am. Time passes and I call AT&T to come to find out there is a problem with "outside services" and my install would have to be delayed. So far, no big deal. So over the next week I call daily to find out when my install will happen only to have to wait on hold and repeatedly give my phone number to which my account is linked. I am told AT&T will get back to me when the problem has been resolved and told by different people 3 to 5 days to undetermined. I got so frustrated calling I started to "chat" with reps online only to be given the same story. I then talk to a friend of mine who is an installer for AT&T and he said there are no issues in the area where I live. On one occasion when I called a rep asked me if I would be interested in changing to AT&T cell service...after being on hold for 30 minutes with not only no resolution to the issue but no real time line. So I will now proceed to cancel my install and move on to another service provider. read more
