inconsistent service quality depending on the individual employee you interact with would be the line with this place including the GM. unfortunately they really arent able to help you with anything outside the basics. I have been in management for 13 years and I would never try to resolve a complaint the way in which these employees go about it. insulting a customers opinion and then reporting it is a he said she said when the verizon employee was more than inappropriate would never be the route to go with a long term customer. Running out of data for the 3rd row in a month, so stopped in. Rep was very nice, and after looking at my account, told me I had a soecial offer to upgrade to unlimited data for $5 a month. That's a no brainer. Also, phone is older but don't want to deal with learning another and he offered an upgrade but wasnt pushy. That's priceless. My phone wouldn't turn on this morning, after working fine last night. I had charged it overnight. Went to this N. KY store because they opened at 9:00 A.M. 82 Carothers Rd. Newport, KY 41071 I walked in and was greeted and seated by Zach. He determined that it was charged and did a simple reboot of the phone. Everything came back and he noted that an overnight Apple update was likely the culprite. Left about 15 minutes after I arrived as one happy customer. No sales job or cost. I will be back. I really hope someone sees this review and saves themselves hours and hours of frustration and money! The service I received at this store is an absolutely disgusting, completely pathetic display of incompetence...and it cost us a ton of money. Crooks, liars, and thieves. I recently went in to the store to purchase a new iPhone and iPad for myself, along with an iPhone and iPad for my mother. In addition, a friend went with us to purchase a new iPhone and iPad as well. Yes, 3 phones and 3 iPads. First, they ordered the wrong iPad for me. No problem, they ordered a new one. We picked up all the devices and went on our way. Little did we know, our first bill came and it was $444. That's right. $444 thanks to non-disclosed "upgrade" charges. We even received a $40 upgrade charge for the iPad THEY ordered incorrectly. We called Verizon corporate to get these charges removed but they said we had to call this store in order to remove them. Verizon said, "They will tell you they can't remove them, but they can. They just don't want to." Wonderful. I called the local store to get the charge/charges removed and of course they said they can't. And the ping pong phone calls began...for hours and hours. Now, I'm spending New Years Day trying to get the charges removed. Charges for an iPad THEY incorrectly ordered. Please do yourself a favor and drive 15 minutes north to the Kenwood corporate store to save yourself hours and hours of time, and a pile of money. I look forward to taking the next several weeks to spread the word about your horrifically incompetent and disgusting customer service...just after I switch to T-Mobile. read more

Good bunch of folks - way more professionally dressed than required. They should probably put a sign outside suggesting a dress code for customers so that we don't just go in in our shorts and t-shirts. Having said that, quite friendly in general. Occasionally, we came across 1-2 rude guys who weren't even courteous enough to ask us to sit when addressing our requirements - nonetheless, we pulled a chair ourselves eventually. TAT is quite good though - we have hardly had any long wait time even during busy hours. They are able to solve issues quite fast and provide a satisfying solution. read more

I purchased a hi speed phone charger card less than a year ago. It costed nearly 50 dollars. At time of purchase, I informed salesman my previous cord was chewed by my dog. He promised me the cord would be covered for any type damage up to one year. I returned today w a chewed cord but no coverage. The sales person looked as if I was lying and took no time to validate my claim. With this type service, I will never ever use Verizon again. read more

Yikes... This was a totally normal experience at a Verizon that could have easily been a 4/5 star review, but unfortunately service fell short. I popped in with my brother as I was moving my line onto his plan to save money. In addition, he was upgrading his phone. When we arrived, Jon greeted us and directed us to his desk. He informed us that our plan was outdated and that we would be better to update it to one of the newer plans and pointed us to the wall where the prices were listed next to the respective plans. It was only after we left and spoke to verizon support on the phone that we learned that the prices we were provided were only for plans with 4+ lines on them (and the prices that were going to pay were ~double). I knew things sounded too-good-to-be-true when we were at the Verizon store, but the service felt genuine and I didn't question it until later. A trip back to the Verizon store had the same representative saying "whoops, yeah sorry I didn't mention that." It was disingenuous and just blatant bad service. It has often felt like something is always going to be tacked onto your bill when you're at Verizon.... and sure enough, this visit was no exception. The worst part, had transparency just been provided from the beginning, it wouldn't have been an issue. I'm totally fine with paying a fair price, but companies need to be upfront about what they are charging. Dishonesty and a lack of transparency is nothing short of shameful. read more

I want to just express how refreshing it was to deal with a salesperson who truly cared about his customer and took the time to explain in detail everything about the phones I purchased. Kevin at the Newport KY location was fantastic and I urge anyone who frequents that store to search him out. He was extremely helpful and really knew his products. Kevin even followed up 3 weeks after the sale with a courtesy call to make sure we were satisfied. You don't see that kind of follow up anymore and it was very much appreciated. read more

I have been to this Verizon store twice and both times they were no help. Both times they did not attempt to resolve my problem at all. They basically just told me that I needed to buy a new phone. Even though I have an extended warranty and can have my phone replaced for free. If I were you I would go to the Kenwood location where they are a lot more accommodating and friendly. The only reason why I didn't give this location a 1 star is because the store is clean, in good condition, and in a nice neighborhood. read more

I recently opened an account with Verizon in California. I want to start off by saying up until yesterday I've had an amazing experience with Verizon and the stores I've been to. This is by far one of the most unprofessional locations I've been to. I simply wanted to purchased an iPad and add a cellular plan to the iPad. I already have an iPad on my account on top of my cellular phone. I explained that I wanted to purchase the iPad outright and just add the $20/mo service to it. The rep was all about it until I refused to finance it with them, they told me they had to finance something so they insisted on trying to finance $1 of the iPad on my account. At this point is was extremely obvious this had everything to do with getting a commission by adding the financing to my account...it gets even worse from here. My rep went over and spoke with another rep which seemed to be the manager over the deal, the "manager" came over and told me he couldn't sell me the iPad because I was from out of state. He explained to me it had to do with fraudulent activities on iPads but I explained why i was out here and provided my ID, two credit cards, and even my business license to verify who I was. Unfortunately the manager asked for my social security card, which to me was extremely over the top. I asked if we could call customer service and use that to verify and push my order through. The "manager" said he could not and that my best option was to go to target and buy an iPad there. I was completely stumped at this point, I provided everything they asked for, was willing to purchase the iPad or android table outright so nothing had to be financed, and they completely refused service. They said my best option would be to go to a target or Best Buy and come back. I asked if this "policy" was just in this store or if I was going to deal with this at all stores since I'm out of state and the manager told me that I would deal with this at all stores. I run a small business and use iPads for our point of sales system so not being able to purchase them was a hit on my behalf. Here's the worst part and why I reviewed them so low, I just called customer service and verified that 1. They are able to sell me iPads outright without financing 2. There was no reason for them to finance the products at all 3. They get commissions based on opening new lines and financing products 4. They could have easily called customer service to verify who I was and helped me place an online order 5. I'm at another store getting my iPad setup without any issue Lastly I called them today anonymously to talk with the "manager" and the rep told me they don't have a manager. So i asked for anyone that is a decision maker and he again repeated that there were none but insisted on how he could help. These guys are flat out bullys, I believe I was profiled for being young and tattooed. If anyone from corporate or the "manager" ever takes the time to read the reviews I would highly encourage them to find employees that genuinely love their job and want to help customers instead of refusing service and lying about policy. I pity all the workers that messed this up yesterday, I wake up and fall asleep happy because I pursued my dreams and it worked out extremely well for me. Verizon on Glenway. We had a terrible experience yesterday at Verizon. My wife's I phone 6 died and we went in to upgrade. I'm not I Phone savvy, and my wife had ideas of what she wanted but really isn't savvy either, but the account is in my name and it was truly a 2 person job. We were met outside the door by 3 employees and tried to explain what we needed. They informed us that they had a strict policy of only 1 person per account allowed in the store. We explained our reasons for needing to discuss the options together, to no avail. One of our problems had to do with government software she had which would not transfer to a new phone. They insisted that only one of us was allowed, so I finally agreed that I would wait outside then we would switch places and they could talk to me. When she went in and they closed the door on me, she was waited on by 3 employees. The store was not busy, there were only 2 other customers. I was able to read the sign on the door which stated the true Verizon policy of only 1 customer per employee. They could easily have had 2 employees serve us to keep the proper ratio! I politely opened the door to point this out while remaining on the sidewalk and immediately 3 employees made it clear that their policy was 1 customer only. It was then I started to raise my voice only slightly to question why. I was asked to leave their store immediately, I said I was not in the store, but by holding the door open they said same thing and they would call the police. I said go ahead and they told my wife to get out as well. As he started his call we walked to the car and he opened the door and said have a nice day. We went to the smaller Verizon store in Delhi where we were waited on promptly and efficiently. I think Glenway is corporately owned and Delhi is independent. They don't have all the display crap as Glenway, but they have everything to fill your needs. read more

I've been into this "Verizon Authorized Retailer" a handful of times now for little things with my phone. If you ever need anything with your phone fixed, or accessories for you phone I would just run over here. Everyone who works here is really cool and helpful. They never try to sell me crap I don't need and every time I'm in here I'm in and out in ten minutes. There is never a line like every time you go to a normal Verizon retail store. Two weeks ago I went in here to buy a really nice phone charger since mine died. I had the charger that I bought for two weeks, and then last night it started acting weird and wasn't really charging my phone. I took it in today with the container it came in and they tested my charger, figured out it was a faulty cord, and just gave me a new chord and sent me on my way. In and out. I was grateful for that since I was busy and running around. No B.S., I got what I needed and was on my way. read more

Every time I need to go to Verizon I DREAD it. Today, I stopped at Newport Verizon after smashing my phone earlier in the morning. I was quickly greeted by a gentleman Jake Karr. Jake was super personable and got me in and out of the door quicker than several of my previous visits combined. He wasn't out to try and sell me the store but simply get me a new working phone and the best price. Kudos to Jake, I'll definitely be making Newport my new store. read more

Took over three hours for them to get our stuff switched over even though all our phone numbers were released from the company and phones are unlocked. They also did not let me know about all these extra fees and charges after everything was already switched over even though I asked what was the full price of the first bill which ended up being $500 compared to the 150 they had told me before they started anything they were very rude about everything at the end stated so well you can return everything, but I think they should do a better explanation about what the final price is when it's due and all the installation fees they mentioned nothing about this until after you've already purchased everything and got numbers switch from the other company, which in turn would suck to switch back especially when they knew we were coming from multiple different companies. The staff was not very informed in there own fees or what anything cost unless they are staring right at it. I also heard other customers getting a better deal even though we were activating 5 likes and I even asked about an Apple Watch which they never got me the info about even when I asked about it more than 5 times. If your just trying to pay a bill then this place is great for you, if your trying to switch or start a plan go to a different Verizon retailer.
