We reserved the VIP section and service started off great but as the night went on it went down hill. I had to order my drink twice and waited 40 minutes. I also asked for a menu twice and NEVER got one so I didn't get to eat and was very hungry. I asked my friends The next day and they said the same thing. Started of great but went down hill. The cocktails are watered down. If I had 4 at other places I'd definitely feel it but absolutely nothing. Their wine selection was not great and very expensive for drinks. If you leave a drink that half consumed to go dance it may not be there when you return! That was very disappointing. Now the band was AMAZING and the only reason to go but be preferred to drop some cash for drinks. My first impression is that this place sucks. We wanted to come and see Annika and the Earthlings but had a horrible time trying to find out any information about the shows at the Asylum. After about 30 minutes I found out that the shows start at 9:30. I didn't realize that you needed reservations. I thought it was a night club. Just a restaurant with unfriendly staff. The band is great as is the sound system. Maybe after a few dances I'll like this place better and update my opinion. My friend points out that it is our fault for not knowing the rules. My point is they should have more information on the establishment on their website. I'm back an hour later. Trevor the bartender is the nicest person! Extra star for Trevor. Three hours later. Huge and neat place to enjoy with friends or for a good meal, located in the heart of hard rock casino. Sunday - Thursday opens at 11 am to 1am Friday- Saturday 11am- 2 am. They offer regular and late night happy hour options. my favorite happy hour is the one that chicken wings is cheap. A restaurant with a party services, larger group can call and left message to their voice mail for details and reservation, big place that can house 100 heads instantly. Noise level is more than average due to large TV monitors that air games and live music, and always consider that the place is inside a casino. Wheelchair accessible. I tried the following dishes and I enjoyed every bite..... CHICKEN WINGS- It comes with two flavors the one I got is just the salt and pepper with honey garlic sauce. a pound and I finish all of them what a finger licking food.... THE BIG SALAD- Grilled chicken, egg, avocado, cucumber, grape tomatoes, prosciutto ,feta, crisp onion and creamy mustard buttermilk dressing, this one really suits its name HUGE serving...delish and healthy. DEEP FRIED PICKLES- Spicy and crunchy dill fried into perfection, it goes well wit an ice coke or an alcoholic beverages. SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS- With this dish I found nothing special, well still it tasted good but just ordinary, huge portion as well. Accept cash/debit and credit and if you have the rewards card where you can easily apply at the casino lobby or information you will always get a 10% off all the time in all restaurants inside casino in BC. Never ate here, just stopped in to grab a drink. I really loved the lighting this place has! It's very warm and welcoming. It's located right in the Hard Rock Casino, just look for the big ASYLUM sign. I wanted a frozen cocktail ( as always ) but was told they didn't have a blender. My husband jokingly asked, if he could bring his own for next time ! I decided on a cider, they only had Strongbow. I only like Strongbow if it's on tap - which it was so we both got a pint of it. I think it came to around 18$ for the two drinks. Oddly, this one drink really gave me a buzz, which doesn't happen very often ( I don't drink enough to get one ) it was a fun surprise : ) read more

We attended the Asylum Lounge this evening as a large party of 25. Considering the size of our party the service was good, friendly and helpful staff. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The menu was not super varied, although that did work for our party. read more

Reserved a table for a birthday party for 20 people weeks in advance, required a $600 credit card hold. Arrived minutes before our reserved time, many in the group arrived in a Limo and lo and behold our table had been given away! The reserved name was even on our table/area still. The acting manager on duty who was referred to as a "supervisor" by his subordinates could only offer an apology with no explanation for the incompetence that had taken place. If you've ever been to the Asylum you know there's an elevated area for massive gatherings which was the area reserved. The only solution offered were a bunch of high tops pushed together which still wouldn't have accommodated the 20 of us. One of the waitresses who appeared rather inebriated engaged us and actually started using cuss words, certainly the furthest thing from professional. The insanity at the insane Asylum was far from over though! Some in our group became rather distraught and for good reason, most of us have kids and planning an event for 20 adults is a lot of work! Security was called and "Bill" who was head of security assured he would take good care of us, Well I can assure you not one person was comped a beverage, food or anything for that matter. We ended up eating in the food court just outside the Asylum. The insane Asylum and the Soft Rock Casino were a classic reenactment of the Seinfeld episode when Jerry reserves a car yet the car has been given away. the $600 dollar hold still hasn't been removed on the credit card, I will update if it is removed. read more

Nice classy show lounge in the corner of the Hard Rock Casino. As with the rest of the casino complex, parking is available in the large open lot next to the casino, as well as the parkade. The view of the stage is quite clear from anywhere in the floor, as the venue is basically a large circular room. The cover band when we went was quite good, covering songs from Guns N' Roses and Sublime. Good times. There's even a small little area for dancing in front of the stage. Beers are reasonable at $5 a glass. We also ordered the nachos. They weren't bad, but to be honest, I've had better elsewhere. The toppings were decent, but they weren't mixed too well. Also the layering wasn't done too well. The chips were glued to one another as a result. read more

Went there Sunday April 24th for their Steak & Lobster deal. First off the service was not good, slow and inattentive! Didn't check on us at all until we were finished eating. The meal itself was ok, they over cooked the steak on everyone's meal. Very disappointed. read more

We bought a gift card through a charity auction. Was told $100 would be taken off our bill entirely. Got our bill and told alcohol could not be removed, even though guest relations and the gift card did not indicate that was the case. Told to sit and wait for management- waited for 1 HOUR. They refused the comp the full credit. Annoyed to pay the alcohol bill, more annoyed to wait an hour to have it confirmed they refused to honour the certificate. Food was fine, server good - never returning based on the hour wait and refusal to honour the certificate or compensate the hour lost. read more

We had a fun night at the Asylum. We were with a big group and we had made reservations. I think it is a good venue to host a party as it is big and they have live music later in the evening and a small dance floor by the stage. The music was lively and both the band and the DJ did an excellent of job of playing the music. Demographic wise, it is more of an older crowd (30s and over). I ordered the salad and my hubby ordered the turkey club with fries. Both dishes were good and the prices were fair. With 1 appy, 2 entrees and 2 drinks, it came to about $60. The service was actually pretty good considering we were with a big group. The servers were on top of things and knew who ordered what and kept a good track of everyone's tabs. Come see come saw. The place had maybe 8 people at the tables and a line of 4-10 standing waiting for their turn at the bar. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with yam fries. The chipotle mayo was pretty damn good. Can't say much about the fries as they taste the same anywhere you have them. The sandwich was good too but it wasn't mind blowing. Now for the bad part. I ordered a whiskey sour and it was not made with the listed ingredients on the menu. She [bartender] made it the cheap/lazy way and used sour mix and lime. No egg no lemon no simple sugar. What a blast. went to battle of the bands and it was so cool. of course disappointed that the rocking hair band was not the winner, Red Thieves just rocked it out and the band Rev was awesome and one of the two should have won. but had fun just the same. great music, good food (except for Stake restaurant, don't go there if you want to eat hot good food) dancing.
