    Hockey burger

I like coming to this friendly neighborhood pub on hockey's nights to watch the game. I'm not sure why, but this place is never that busy so if you are looking for a less crowded place to watch the game then this is it. They have amazing drinks and my favorites are the Charlie's Fabulous Ceasar and the Charlie's Fabulous Bellini, Their Ceasar has a special lemon pepper salt rim on the glass and tastes delicious! The Bellini is one of the best I've ever had. I think it is blended with canned peaches... which surprisingly makes it taste really good. On hockey nights they offer a hockey burger on special for around $6.50 and it comes with a side salad or fries. If the Canucks score, then they offer hockey beer for $1 a cup! Definitely recommend coming here if you are looking for good drinks and food and reasonable prices.

    Drinks long gone.

It's been quite a few years since I had been to the John B but I'm glad I had a chance to go back…read morerecently. I used to live in this neighbourhood so I was a frequent guest and I remember the food being really good back in the day. My friend and I decided to have a quick bite before seeing a movie and the John B was on the way to the theatre, so we stopped in for a quick meal. My friend had a beef dip with a side of "I Can't Believe They're Not Potato Skins" and I had an order of salt and pepper chicken wings. We both had a beer with our food and I was pleased to see they have quite a great beer selection. The patio is enclosed but felt very open and relaxing. Service was a little slow but they were pretty busy when we got there. Very friendly servers, too. Always nice to feel welcome when dining out.

The seating area is actually not as large as it looks from the outside. Fortunately there is a covered (but not enclosed or heated) N facing patio, protected from the street by a pile of shrubbery. Staff are friendly and cheerful. No complaints. The beer pricing is in line with other similar establishments. Somewhat decent selection as well. I didn't try the food this time, but it looked pretty decent as well. Will try next time.

Great place for drinks and hanging out with friends! Really fun, older vibe. There's free parking outside, just register your license plate when you enter the building. I went with 2 other friends on a Saturday night. The place was pretty full but we got lucky and only had wait a few minutes for a table. It was decently loud inside but it was still easy to have a conversation. The waitress we got was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. I'm also super envious of her memory because there's no way I can remember who had which drink without writing it down for so many tables throughout the night!!! My friend also asked for a drink recommendation for the last round and she gave a great one. There's a lot of selection for drinks, as well as food. I really like their shared plates of finger food like tater tots and onion rings. My fish and chips were also very good. The table beside us ordered nachos and it looked huge and very delicious.

Aside from the time warp location, the food is easily 4*s, and honestly, I'd say it's better than White Spot as a comparable. The clubhouse sandwich contained actual turkey breast, not the deli turkey breast slices a lot of places use. That's an easy win right there. Very reasonable pricing to boot! It's basically a sports bar/pub grub menu set up. Pool tables as well. Lighting is on the darker side, with friendly and courteous service. They chat with you since they're curious as to how you know about the place. It's definitely not on too many peoples' radar for sure. They seem to like their hockey, as there are a couple of jerseys hanging. Guy Lafleur, Paul Henderson's autographed jersey from the Summit Series 1972, and a couple of others. Located in the basement of the Lougheed Village Mall, which is literally the Land that Time Forgot. I'm not exaggerating. Come and have a look for yourself. Free validated parking if you eat here. Recommend that you go for a stroll in the upper and lower levels and the courtyard whilst you're here. Maybe come in the evening during Halloween. You won't need to spook yourself out at a graveyard. This mall will suffice you plenty.
