With Places like "Game Star" and "Games Crib" already rocking the independent, second hand gaming world on the highstreet, Astro has a lot to compete with. You'd think its nice central location in Brightons "alternative highstreet" would help, but sadly, there just isn't much on offer here... Addmittedly, it can take some time to grow a back catalogue of second hand games, and it does require people to sell back their wares for the range of stock to grow, but Astro just doesn't seem to be offering prices that tempt...
I've been in here on numerous occasions, as prices often chop and change, and grabbing that gem requires you to spot it first, but every time I've been, I've left empty handed, and bitterly disappointed. Looking at the majority of games on the shelves here, you could buy them for new for less, get the guarantee of a warranty and enjoy a free gift... Its a bit of a rip off, which is the exact opposite of what a second hand store should be.
Maybe Astro will get better with time, but for now, its nothing to right home about. read more
