Apparently I previously gave a 5 star review. I've had to…read moredowngrade to a 1 star review because of fraudulent activity. They denied a 2 day voucher return from a tablet bought in Crawley because the product was too damaged. The damage in question was a hairline scratch on the side frame of the tablet. They confirmed that my receipt said it was bought in Grade B condition. Apparently a scratch that isn't even on the screen, and requires a strong light source to be visible, is too damaged for them to accept. According to a young man who refused to give his name but claimed to be the manager, that wouldn't be sold in his store at all, not even as grade C. This is a scam performed because the tablet in question is difficult to sell as it has an out of date OS that can't install apps or use the internet anymore. Individual franchisees protect themselves by refusing returns from other franchisees as they don't want to eat the cost of stocking something they never wanted to sell or having to pay to ship the item back to its original store. The idea that CeX acts as a monolith chain is fiction. Treat each store as an individual store and don't expect a promise from one store to be upheld by another. I would like to add that their behaviour was professional, but the blank faced lying about the condition being too poor to accept for return means what seemed to be professional behavior was actually blatant trolling. Oh and I did get my return. I went back to the original store, Crawley, that I bought it from. Purchased a more appropriate tablet and it was quick and painless. Prices are also pretty reasonable, especially on CDs which are sold as 2 for 1 on anything. However, actually finding something you'd like to buy is slightly more of a challenge, as there doesn't seem to have been much organisation other than tenuous genres. Is Alien a horror or a Sci-fi? Either way, it may be here for a very good price for all I know, but I couldn't afford to spend two hours looking... There's a... unique and possibly pleasant vibe about the place too, with whoever is working here watching a film or two on a portable DVD player while you browse around, meaning you often overhear familiar lines from old films while you search the shelves.

Still, you might find a buried treasure in here, and I do mean buried: everything is piled on top of each other in a rather hodge-podge manner, and the filing system can, at best, be described as 'lazy'. The location has two massive stories of wall-to-wall geeky joy. Books, action figures, art, video gaming goodness; it's got it all. I appreciated how everything was very well organized (largely by pop culture features/brands). It was so well organized that I didn't need to actually ask for any directions or help finding stuff.

Came for prices, left due to shoddy customer service. Part of my order showed up almost a month…read morelate, another part was cancelled without them even informing me. Worst part though was the truly useless customer service when I contacted them to find out where the heck my stuff was. Confrontational, blame shifting and unable to even muster an apology or read my emails properly. I've spent €1,000s here in the past but they won't be getting a penny more from me. I know their discount is tempting but there are other retailers with similar discounts and WAY better attitudes.

This is a little gem. Although it is a games shop where you can buy playstation and various other…read moregames it is also a great place for a birthday party. I have an 8 year old who wanted a party there. Basically for £15 a head you get 10 children maximum that take over the shop - they shut the shop for this two hour period and you get to play on all the playstations, wii, xbox, etc and then there is a fun football challenge at the end with a prize for the over all winner. You get sausage and chips or something similar from the chip shop next door and the kids love it. The man who owns the shop is lovely and the guys he has working there are really helpful. The kids had a great time and that is the main thing.

I was told on the phone that it would take two days and very straight forward. when I dropped it off it soon became known to me that he takes them to someone else to fix. This took a week unlike told on the phone two days. I collected it after a week and took it home. The HDMI was fixed, however it was now not playing discs as it had been the night before, I took it back to the shop. Richard would not take responsibility and even accused my son of not telling me it was originally broke. I had seen my son with my own eyes playing and he had received a trophy on the game the night before. Richard tried to say that you can play without a disk (anyone with a brain would know this is not possible because the game was not downloaded on the console). Due to me being female he tried to tell me that it is possible to play a game without the disc! Richard refused to fix the problem he had made and said I had to pay another £50 for it to be fixed. In total this cost me £125 for taking the console to this CON-ARTIST!!! When I got this home tonight my son noticed there have been three games used on his computer that he does not own! Richard was very rude on the phone and even tried to accuse my partner of being racist on the phone to him, unknown to him my partner is the same race and when i pointed this out he went very quiet. I have now found a reliable man who will fix your HDMI port for less money, less stress and guarantee not breaking it anymore. I just wish i had known about him before. He is situated at Mayplace, called Mathew and his contact number is 01322 522267. I would not recommend this man or shop for anything as he is capable of stealing parts from you console or using it in his shop while you think it is still being repaired. I have reported this to trading standards who are looking into this matter. please report to them if you have had similar experiences. I have since heard that this man does not have a good reputation and is known for never being open or returning calls. I would be very aware if you book a party and have to hand over a deposit. In case he is just not there on the day and your child like mine is left disappointed!!!
