Gamestar then does something that bigger chains like Game don't do. They sell great games, from many eras at damned decent prices. I picked up a completely unscratched copy of Okami for £10 here, which is practically unheard of! There's plenty of more modern "hardcore" games here to sleight your thirst with, as well as more one off fun purchases. And Gamestar buy back games too, so you could get some extra cash towards your purchases... But if your anything like me, then you'll probably be happier seeing your collection grow ever larger rather than yo-yo with the days of the week. Of course, prices range hugely across the titles and systems, but with buy back deals that can be as little as £1 a night (honestly!), and some seriously cheap gems to be uncovered, you should definitely swing by and see if you can bag yourself a retro/ cult bargain. They also sell gaming accessories and some other items such as Pacman belt buckles and Mario badges etc. The store is quite small and cluttered, which can be part of its charm, but often means that it can end up quite busy, and during peak times such as Christmas it can be very difficult to find any room inside the store at all. The music played in the store is usually theme music from games, and sometimes this is interspersed with Japanese artists, which is pleasant enough but definitely appeals to a certain sort of gamer. The bargains to be had here are sometimes considerable though, considering there is rarely anything wrong with preowned games the prices can come down significantly. I have noticed occasionally they have had sale stickers on items that have in fact only been reduced by a penny though, so I would be wary about assuming something is going to be a good deal just because there is a sale sticker. The staff are helpful and friendly, and seem genuinely knowledgeable about the products that they sell.
