This is an awesome shop! I have bought many things from over the years here, and they have all been excellent products! Just yesterday I bought myself a Conspiracy Theories book and a crossword book for my mum. The staff are always polite and there are some amazing deals in this shop. It is located in the middle of the The Beacon (arndale) which is extremely helpful. This is an extreme hotspot for kids as The Works sell latest trends and toys. Awesome shop, full of bargains and thinks that never cease to amaze me, or think "wow, I REALLY want that." Only thing I would say is, if you see a bargain then buy it. You can't be sure that it will be there the next time you visit or if they will get any more in. read more

I love this shop ! It has a huge children's section with all their favourite TV characters, puzzle books, annuals, etc and all at really good prices (lots of 5 for a fiver type offers). They also have a big section on arts and crafts stuff, which is great for the kids messy play box ! They don't have all the current best sellers in the adult section (as in books for grown-ups, not top shelf material !!) but the books they do stock will be on promotion. They have a few other lines that could come in handy for gifts - puzzles, calendars, DVDs etc. You have to just come in with an open mind and see what takes your fancy ! read more

Fantastic shop for stationary, books, art supplies and other bits and bobs. Sells a few kids puzzles, craft sets, sticker books etc too. Very good prices, especially the books of which there is a pretty good variety. Polite, friendly staff and quite a good store layout if a little cramped. Don't recommend attempting to push a buggy round the shop as you are highly likely to knock something flying, other than that a really good shop to stop at. Within the Arndale Centre so easy parking which you will have to pay for. read more

This is like an Aladdins cave! Plenty of arty and craft type stuff as well as books puzzles, cards, etc! Good location within the Arndale Centre, has quite alot of various items on display, however is not as good as the one at Brighton Marina, from experience I have found. Good range of items on promotion with some great deals. A handy shop. Staff very helpful. read more

My children love this shop. It is in the Arndale Centre, so easy to find, and has all sorts of bargains. Lots of special deals on books, cards, arts & crafts. The sort of place if you have a good look at it, there is always something you need for a reasonable price. read more
