if I could give no stars I would. This company has been nothing but rude and provided overpriced crappy service for internet and tv. When I have to tell their tech how to do their job than you sure don't deserve my business. When had their service it was always in and out (2 different houses - so it wasn't location). no resolution ever. Billing was never the same even though no changes were ever done to the account. We were even set up on auto pay and they drafted one month but didn't draft the correct amount when they changed the billing system and then tried to charge us a late fee. Their website also is not secure. PLEASE DON'T PUT Your CREDIT CARD OR BANKING INFORMATION with them. I actually had to file a police report locally since Grande Communications were taking money out of the account that they were authorized to. read more

I've had a number of cable providers in different parts of the country, including Comcast locally, and have been mostly pleased with Grande Communications. Their tech support is generally worlds better than other companies' support. You'll never find a company where every time you call, the person you speak with knows their job 100%, but these guys are better than most. They used to be inexpensive compared with other options, but that's sadly not true any longer. I'm considering other options just because of the rising costs. I also like the fact that Grande Comm isn't a giant national conglomerate, but a more local company. The biggest problems we've had have been with inconsistent quality with their installers. Some are great, and others don't seem to have a clue. Unfortunately, some things require an installer, even things as simple as getting a Grande branded Tivo box. I honestly don't understand the complaints I've read here about Internet service quality, because that's one of the reasons we're still with them. We've had Grande for about 7 years, and have had far fewer issues with their service as an ISP than any other provider I've ever had for broadband, going back to the late 90s. I'm in the industry, and when I call and tell them that I think there's a problem with one of their DNS servers, and list the reasons why, they say thanks, that they'll pass that up the line. I have to think that they are, because when I've reported problems like that, with the troubleshooting I've done, it seems to get resolved fairly quickly. Other ISPs just respond with, "we haven't been told about a problem," to which I have to try to get them to understand that I'm trying to report the problem, not ask if there is one. read more

Terrifically slow internet speeds! Grande also punishes loyal customers with an ascending price plan. Does this make any kind of business sense to anyone else but a company with a monopoly on certain areas of Austin? The first six months, you get speedy internet for $29/m. After that, you get a reduced speed for an increased price of $59/m. Grande customer service is like a battering ram of idiocy and vitriol. I am actually glad to have Grande instead of Time Warner or ATT. I agree with those who talked about their pricing structure. It is the same evil program as every other company. However, we have had good service. Maybe it is because of our location in the downtown area, but we have seldom had Internet problems and are happy with the TV. We have not had to deal with their customer support people/system. The other reason I am glad is that Grande is a Local Provider and I am involved with a Child Development Center in east Austin that each year has received generous donations from them at Christmas time that have really helped the families and kids. I am pretty sure that would not happen with ATT or TimeWarner. read more

Extremely unhappy customer of 8 years, wish there was a no stars rating for this review. I provide internet to my tenants of my rental home as a perk for renting with me. My current tenant works from home and we had an interruption in service today and my tenant missed out on almost 4 hours of work that she is now not getting paid for and seeking reimbursement from me. I called in to Grande to see if I could get reimbursed the funds I was out for paying my tenant and I got a flat out no. They told me they would give me $5 for the day of service we are out. At this point it is not about the money but the principal. I pay my monthly bill on time every month and hold up my end of the bargain, grande has an outage and is unwilling to pay the $50 I paid to my tenant. It got escalated to a supervisor after 45 minutes of waiting, which tells me there are a lot of escalations and very unhappy customers with Grande. I am going to be switching my internet provider as soon as possible because i know that if I run into any issues in the future..Grande is unwilling to assist, as they have "policies" in place they have to abide by, regardless of what the circumstance is. I am a business owner myself and understand policies are in place for a reason, but also understand there are extenuating circumstances where exceptions need to be made to hold up your end of the bargain as a business owner or company. My mother has been a customer for 8-10 years. Like many people, she wants to support local businesses.... But we can't take it anymore!! Their Internet sucks-- it goes down frequently and it is an absolute pain to resolve issues-every issue requires a 45 minute to 1 hour phone call and then a service person has to be scheduled to come over, which requires a 4 to 6 hour window!!! Who has time for this??!!??! We have had over 6 Internet issues so far this year alone. A service person was out just two days ago to fix the latest problem- he was nice and helpful and got us back on line. The internet went down again today, however, and the phone tech guy (who you have to go thru in order to schedule a home service) was condescending and so unhelpful that I had to terminate the call. Still no Internet. My mother is switching over to Time Warner this weekend. I don't get it!!!!! read more

Grande prevails in the Austin market simply by being the better of two evils (see: Warner, Time). Granted, no internet/cable provider is going to be flawless, particularly one as large as Grande, but that still doesn't forgive a few of their more egregious flaws. Grande's customer service - though occasionally helpful - is an absolute pain. You'd better have a half hour or so reserved specifically for contacting them, because they will keep you on hold for an eternity (and play the worst music possible in the process). Their online bill-payment process is equally frustrating and occasionally confusing for even the most tech savvy user. At the end of the day, Grande is what it is....a company with no personal relationship with its customers that provides capable service at average-to-pricey rates. read more

For a long time I lived in a part of Austin not (yet) covered Grande, and I was so jealous of my friends in their service area. Grande was a promise that a telecommunications company could be local, personable, and affordable. When I finally moved someplace in their area, I was so thrilled to finally be on the phone with them that I let them seduce me into a service bundle including internet, a hard-line phone and cable television with a DVR. As with so many crushes, the real-life relationship turned out to be more difficult, and the crush-object more fallible, than I imagined. I've never had a problem with my internet or phone service (all I ask out of the latter, though, is a dial tone, in case I ever need to call 911) but the cable & DVR combo was never quite right. My first DVR only held 30 hours of material, even though I was told at sign-up that I'd be getting one with 40-hour capacity. A moot issue, I thought, since I didn't see myself needing 30 full hours of DVR space, anyway. I don't remember why this one had to be replaced, but I was still flushed with affection for Grande and quickly forgave the indiscretion. My second and third DVRs needed to be re-set frequently, either manually by me or remotely from Grande's tech support center in San Marcos. They each had a habit of arbitrarily deciding not to record things I'd programmed. Every once in a while they would also completely die for a couple hours, making it impossible not just to record but to even watch TV in real time. And, of course, when I had to exchange the second DVR for the third, I lost several weeks' worth of recordings. The breaking point for me was when my third DVR completely died for the hour and a half that included the season premiere of 30 Rock. To be clear, Grande's customer support is quite good. Every time I called, I was on the phone with an actual human being within minutes. For the most part, too, the human beings were very helpful and/or sympathetic. I just wish I hadn't had to get so familiar with the tech support process. I've scaled back my relationship with Grande. I canceled my cable but they continue to provide me with internet and the dial tone (no problems with either). We're still pretty good friends. And, for the amount of TV I actually watch, I think I'm better off with an extra $40 each month and just waiting to get my shows and movies from Hulu, iTunes or Netflix. read more

I was with my fiancee at her prior residence and went through her experiences with her and then heard more stories from her about her experiences from before we met. My personal experience was brutal. They call and if you don't answer the phone, they cancel. Let that sink in for a minute. You are at work or on a conference call, or tending to your kids or whatever and they call. IF you don't drop whatever is going on in YOUR life to respond to THEM right then, they cancel the appointment and YOU must call to reschedule because they aren't coming - ever. The technical staff that shows up for the repair (often required because it goes out very frequently) sometimes can't fix the problem and it requires another appointment and you are back EXACTLY where you were prior to the failed appointment. No service and at square 1. Oddly, they are often the ONLY choice in a neighborhood for internet service. I'm not sure how that happens, but it is frequently the case. I told my fiancee that i will never live in a place that only offers Grande Communications. My words were tested recently. We were looking at moving to the Robson Ranch Community just outside of Fort Worth, TX. We Loved the place it has golf courses, restaurants, fantastic houses and more! We were talking to the sales guy and we asked a bunch of questions about the infrastructure and commute times and the utility providers..... da da duuuummmmmm The words were crushing. We use Grande. I asked if there were other options. The answer was NO. This is Denton County and they pretty much have a monopoly out here. It now makes sense to me why the customer service is so bad. They are the only show in town. If you want internet service and they have the area locked up somehow, you MUST go with them or go without. I said, "Damn! I'm out... i will NEVER, EVER use Grande! Good luck in selling the rest of the community - i wish you well. Please let me know if you open the community to other providers. But, i'm out!" They will just never be part of my life and i will continue to look for another place. Grande 'High' Speed Internet is horrible. Every single day my internet goes out for a period of time. Did I say everyday? Just want that part to be clear. Now compound that with their customer service. When I call they tell me I'm good because my internet is working now. But they fail too understand that I just dont want it to go out every day and the fact that I'm calling them from my IP phone by default means its working now. So I get transferred to tech 'help', and they add no value because they tell me the internet is working. (No duh). Again they fail to understand I just want it to not go out each day. So they transfer me to customer service, and they tell me I need to speak with Tech for the internet to not go out. So I explain I did speak with them, and I'm responded with ' I cannot do anything'. So apparently everytime I call, no one can do anything about preventing my internet from going out. Never had these issues with AT&T and Time Warner Internet. read more

Negative stars if I could. Avoid Grande at all costs. Expensive equipment and service. Poor channel line up. Signal pauses and digitizes often. My last comment was the result of a $10 increase last month. I begrudgingly paid that bill. This month I am greeted with an additional $30 increase. $40 in 2 months. So at Brie's (Grande) recommendation I called Cust Svc. I was greeted with "we appreciate your being a good customer". So we delve into the $40 increase. 22% service increase + equipment and fees increase. Again, no changes on my end. Nice lady starts into her 2 price increases per year schpiel. Pass thru charges, etc. So I ask her to improve on my bill. Nothing she can do. So I ask her to match new customer pricing. Nothing she can do. States "the system no longer allows them to make those type of changes". So having built these types of systems in the past, I question this statement. I then ask if there was anyone there up to the CEO who could override the system. "Not even the CEO could override or had the authority to improve my rate." So I ended the conversation. Now I am looking for ways to cut costs/services to lower my bill. I will pay my newly enhanced bill. But rest assured, I will not pay that bill 2 months in a row. Y'all, don't be fooled, this is the worst internet service provider in Austin. They should call themselves pequeño. Like you, I wanted to know what the best internet service is upon moving to Austin and everyone I spoke with recommended Grande. I'm not sure if it's the name that draws people to the service or the illusion that they're local and therefore helpful and you get the warm fuzzies for supporting a local company or what, but I fell for it, you're probably about to fall for it. Today my internet speed is 6mbps. SIX. Not 300, not 12, 6. I cannot run a business on 6, especially when I'm paying for 300. Oh I've called, and they've come, one day I waited seven hours and they didn't show up, then they rescheduled for the following day and got to my house early, I wasn't home because I don't know, I work and stuff so when I got home they were leaving and they said they found the problem and fixed it! Hallelujah! I silently screamed to myself. But no, they fixed nothing and they left and it was all the same and now I'm writing this as I wait for another technician to come to my home, and I better not miss the phone call because then they'll cancel my appointment because no one ever misses a freaking phone call in 2018, but I digress. They also overcharged me for six months and it was a shitshow to get that fixed. I requested a credit to my account because I'm not getting what I pay for and haven't been getting it forever and they told me no, that they only issue credits for outages. What kind of business doesn't give you what they sold you and then refuses to make it right? Not a business I'm going to deal with and certainly one I'll Yelp about and dissuade my friends and family from consorting with. I'm going to give this technician a chance today and if he can somehow fix the issue I'll update this post, but like I said, I've literally been dealing with this for months and I suspect Grande is throttling speeds because they are probably paying too much for their infrastructure and cannot compete with the pricing of other companies. Internet connection is not stable. Currently have not had internet for 4 days, and I work remote. I had to go to a neighbors house to work today , they have spectrum. A Tech was sent out today and said it was an outage in the area and it would be fixed by end of day. I called later today to check on the outage and was told there wasn't one. And that they don't know what is wrong so they will send another tech out. Outages happen about once a quarter. We finally have spectrum in my area and all my neighbors have started to switch. read more

DirectTv everything was cool it's just that every time it rains signal goes out. We switch to Grande and now the signal is just out every time you look around, and it doesn't even have to be raining. At least with Direct you knew when you weren't getting TV. So my change was from OK service with DirectTV to BAD with Grande Com. I should have updated this months ago. After cancelling with the "super helpful" rep who promised to send someone out to pick up the equipment, no one ever showed up to pick it up. I tried the chat (not working as usual), and called them after waiting at home all day. The rep stated they had no record of an equipment pickup, but would schedule one for two days later. She explained that she couldn't give a better window of time than "between 9 and 6." I waited at home all day again, and no one showed up. I tried the chat again (this time it worked!!!! First time in a year!), and the rep assured me that someone would be coming. No one came. I called that night, and was told that it is not Grande's policy to pick up equipment, but they would, for a 75 dollar fee. No way! I dropped it off the next day, received a receipt, and was happy to be done with them. Not so fast.....they invoiced me almost $600.00 for the equipment. It took hours on hold, a report to the Better Business Bureau to get it resolved. Stay away! Grande is not worth the trouble or terrible customer service just to try to stay "local." I've had an on and off love affair with Grande. I've used them for TV and for internet, but primarily for internet. TV is just background noise, and I've never really noticed it. I could go days, maybe weeks without noticing if it gets shut off. However, if I lose my internet-well, there's gonna be problems. For me. I'll start sweating, getting nauseous and generally feeling powerless against a cruel uncaring world. When I had the relatively basic package, it would periodically do this. Or it would flicker off to a point where I got dialup speeds. Since I've switched to the larger pipe, it's been solid. I'm suspicious this might be on purpose. Support has been ok. I have to explain to the techs that my vocation is fixing networks. Sometimes they understand this, other times they don't. I try not to talk over them, but sometimes I need to. (I've done support before, I know how it goes) Everything else has been great. Customer service is good, and the field techs have always been professional and polite(even when the dogs get out and cornered the poor installer in the backyard.) But most importantly, they beat the pants off the other cable company in town. So, they win by default. read more

I live in a brand new high-rise in dt Austin and I thought they are a good local company. I do not have cable but was paying $100mo for the fastest wifi possible because I kept calling to bump it up. It is so slow on a new apple desktop and I scheduled an appointment for a guy to come today. When I phoned yesterday the guy cut my bill in 1/2 without me even asking him to because he said I was getting like the worst deal ever. I got a vm yesterday just after I made the appointment that says I do not need to confirm but If I want to cancel call this #. My time was 5-7 Monday. At 7:30 I phoned and they said it was canceled because I didn't confirm and they didn't consider the 20 minutes I spent on the phone as a confirmation. The manager was clueless when I read him the dictation word for word of the vm left that said no confirmation necessary. I work an hour away and took an afternoon off to be here on time. They then said that the tech was here but nobody was at front desk. I live in the Seaholm residences, the newest high-rise in dt Austin with a 24 hour concierge who might be gone if they are in the bathroom for two minutes. My iPhone that gets perfect reception did not log a phone call from the tech at all saying he was downstairs. The manager offered me nothing after he understood my frustrations. Not even a $5 discount only to reschedule. I mean he had zero authority. Sad a local company is treating locals this way. not even an apology, I am not kidding, no sympathy, its like he does this literally all day. Just got service and enjoying it so far. I was pleasantly surprised on a number of fronts: 1. Speed and price- Got the 50 MB up and 5 MB down for $45/month. Compared to other vendors, this is a pretty great value. 2. Actually getting advertised speeds- I generally find I get 5-10 MB less than the plan I buy, depending on the time of time. So far, I'm getting the full 50/5 even during peak hours. 3. Reasonable/non-existent fees- The install fee was waived for me, but I think it was only about $20. In general, it seems like fees are actually worth the service you're getting, as opposed to competitors where they are simply price gouging. 4. No year long contract- Very pleased I didn't have to sign a year-long contract to receive a reasonable price. If the quality of service continues, I'll have no reason to switch, but it is nice to not be locked in. read more

I've been a Grande customer since they came into our neighborhood (appx 12 yrs ago). I used them for internet, and tv. At one point our cable (from the pole to the house) actually burst into flame.. I, of course, disconnected the cable before the house caught fire and over the next 2-3 weeks, fought with techs that came to our house , about the cause. After many unsuccessful attempts to repair the problem, one tech actually just cut our cable and said "There, no you won't have any more problems", and left.. I decided to drop our cable for tv and just kept internet.. (odd, no more fires) Since May of 2018, our internet is out, more than it works. I call everyday and get a different excuse. I even traded modems to solve the problem, then was told, "we have a power outage in your part of Austin"... Yeah, like I believe that!!! We are going in to the 2nd month with flakey at best internet.. I end up using my cell phone as a hot spot most days. I'm supposed to have 200 mg speed but it's never that.. When I called to complain, I'm told "80% is considered full service". What a joke Grande is !!! I certainly won't recommend them to my friends of tenants! read more

Every customer service experience I have had with this company has been 5 stars. They are always so attentive, and I feel like I might be their only customer. Their internet service is fast and reliable. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the cable service. (It's been over a year since I used their cable) but, when we had it, the tv guide aspect was not that intuitive, and not the best graphically designed. This is the worst internet provider. I have recently used. First they have a internet box in the closet. And I had to buy a extender in 0rder to use the internet. Then even though my internet bill was current. I recently relocated within the apartment complex due to certain circumstances. So the internet box was left in the apartment, that I recently moved from. The internet box was more hard wired than I have experienced With other internet providers. I would be able to take the equipment with me to my new apartment . Not the case. So I called the customer service department and I was surprised because I asked for a technical support so I can get my internet box. But instead I was linked to the customer service. What a nightmare. First she could not find my account number. Then I was told by her that my service was canceled. So my internet box was given to the new owner and new tenant. And in order for me to get me another box. I would have to make my bill current. Sub standard service, sub standard customer service. The technician done his job to do the installation. The speed of what I was paying for was not what I wanted. I can't believe how a business can operate, like this. So I am going to make my account current and I am going to cancel it. There's nothing anyone can do to change my mind. And I'm not sorry what I said and I am a real person. I am not going to post anything picture to prove who I am. I've been using Grande for about 3 or 4 years now. I used to love these guys, but ever since I upgraded to the 300mbps package, I've had issue with the router/modem combo unit they provided. It has a nasty habit of forgetting the settings for the reserved IP table in the router setup. I have been dealing with this issue for approaching six months now. The first tech found a work around for the problem, but didn't address the base issue, which was that the equipment was not working properly. The second time, my issue got conflated with some outside line trouble and this particular issue didn't get addressed. This issue cropped up again today when I was away from the house and now I can't remote in when I need to. I just got off the phone again who didn't seem to know the difference between the external dynamic IP and an intranet's internal routing tables or a reserved internal IP, and couldn't really do anything to help me since I wasn't 'at the modem', even though I know they can log in remotely and take a look at it, as they've done this on the phone with me before. I'm so entirely frustrated. All I wanted for them to do is swap out the equipment with equipment that doesn't forget its settings on a whim. Instead, I think I'm going to be forced to go out and buy my own equipment, and most likely still pay rental fees for their equipment. This sort of thing is making me very eager to try out Google when it becomes available in my area. If you've got your own gear, these guys are affordable and the internet seems pretty dependable. If you're renting it from them, beware. They seem to be very adverse to replacing equipment for any other reason than a non-functioning modem. read more

My last bill with Grande was 171.04. I paid them on March 18, 2018. In April, I was reported to the credit bureaus for this already paid bill. The debt collection agency won't take the charge off of my credit report until they get a letter from Grande starting it was already paid but after all this time they have failed to do so. Grande is AMAZINGLY IMPRESSIVE!!!! AT&T KNOWINGLY, WILLFULLY, REPEATEDLY has CHOSEN to leave my mother, who is 73 years old, post-stroke, lives alone, and currently has emphysema, without phone service or ANY form of emergency contact for MULTIPLE DAYS - REPEATEDLY. (Post stroke, a cell phone is not an option.) This past Tue, her phone line was disconnected AGAIN by AT&T - PURPOSELY, but MISTAKENLY and WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION or Reason and "could not" be reconnected until Fri! I repeatedly said leaving an elderly woman (again!) with NO emergency contact capabilities for 4 days (Tue - Fri) was unacceptable! Fri. was still the soonest, and no higher supervisor was "available". From the time I called Grande for New Service until the time a tech was sent to install a New Line for my mother was LESS than THREE HOURS!! AT&T refused to CORRECT their OWN MISTAKE in less than four days!! But Grande SOLVED the PROBLEM AT&T had CAUSED - IN LESS THAN THREE HOURS!!! Grande is our HERO!! PLUS - Cindy and Penny were both INTELLIGENT, HELPFUL, UNDERSTANDING, EFFICIENT, EFFECTIVE, and got ALL of the information CORRECT the first time!!! Bad customer service. You have to take off A WHOLE DAY because they refuse to give you a time slot for when someone will come to repair the issue. Bad connectivity issues with the ISP. This is constant in Austin. Billing $30 as late fee is a rip-off considering their ISP service is $28 monthly. Go with Time Warner..... read more

This internet service is the only one that is available to me where I live, and I have some major problems with it, but first let's go over the Pros and why I give it two stars and not one. During Off-Peak hours, 11PM-3PM, the service is acceptable. Ok, now the cons. First, Peak hours, 3PM-11PM, are horrible. Now, if all you do is check your e-mail and read Yahoo, then it should be fine. But even my grandmother uses Netflix, and if you want to watch a streaming video... I don't think so Tim, at least not with any quality. I understand I am a heavy user, and I pay for 80 download with 20 upload speeds, and I understand using Wifi can greatly reduce that speed, so I connect directly into the router and do not use wifi for my computer. That being said, I am unable to keep up with my work and unable to keep up with my play at this "incredible speed" I am paying for. I use Google+ and Skype for conferences, Google Drive and Office 360 for productivity apps, and I use Twitch, Youtube, Netflix, and FoxSports to stream entertainment, but not at Peak times, because I can't. I work from 7AM to 5PM and sleep from 10PM until 6AM, which is similar to most people. This means I do not have access to what I am paying for during the week. I get boggled down by everyone else wanting to use the internet. This means that Grande should get more bandwidth for it's growing users. I have heard the excuse that they are a small company, and that may be true. The problem is, if they are going to advertise these speeds and quality then they should grow with their user base and not stay that same small company trying to output to a large consumer base. Right? I know that advertised speeds are unrealistic, and that Grande can't match that speed. I am not talking about a reduction of speed due to wifi, computer ability, or modem/router. I am talking about the huge speed loss because they cannot support themselves; they have bitten off more than they can chew. And they need to update their system and get more power to be useful during Peak hours of viewing/surfing times. As to their customer service I can only say they will give you the run around, take you step by step through everything you have told them you already have done, and not have an explanation to the problem. They do not talk about Peak hours on their website help page and act like it does not apply to them; it applies to all service providers. The people on the phone are nice enough. I do not expect them to know much about the issues; they are there to follow troubleshooting protocol and take payments, which helps some people. I just want them to acknowledge that they do not have the bandwidth to support all the people they are trying to support and to fix the problem. read more

DO NOT GET WIFI SERVICE WITH THEM. I bought the 'best' gig service, however it is slow as hell. My devices never reach near the speed they claim, and the management is not helpful at all. I called in and told them that the service is slow and not 'gig speed' and the supervisor's response was "your speed is adequate for the things you are trying to do." I can't even play xbox and watch TV in the other room without glitching. When I said I wanted to cancel they tried to make it as inconvenient as possible to do so. There is an all day pick up window they give you or they force you to go to their location. ANY service would be better. THIS SERVICE IS AWFUL AND DO YOURSELF A FAVOR BY NOT GOING WITH THEM. read more

Grande has a monopoly on cable and internet service for apartment complex "The Hendrix" can't get other ISP's in The Hendrix. Prices are WAY WAY to high, call these "Fee's". Grande is charging me 179.00 per month for cable and internet which is outrages. THE MONOPOLY WILL BE STOPPED. I BET THE NEWS MEDIA OUTLETS would cover the story. Very poor management team just gives excuses at every turn. Very disappointed in Grande. read more

Started $19.99, within 2 years it went up to $56(I'm using my equipment) i changed the plan in Dec 2018(they said its faster at same price) after an increase rate. In Jan 2019 i got another $10 increase.(not even 12 months cycle) Non sense. With spectrum you can lock your rate for 2 years. read more

I know everybody hates their cable company. So how is my hate different? Let me count the ways. 1. Half of their customer service is poorly trained and give inaccurate information. The kind of info. that costs you extra money. 2. Fools, such as me, who should have left them, have to phone in ever so often to get the offers, which are given to new customers. 3. Although they thank me for being with them since July of 2007 when I phone in, every problem usually takes at least 3 days and many calls to resolve. I really need to dump them. read more

Beware of Grande's convoluted billing procedures. We two late fees for two months of late payments (which was our fault). We payed for two months ($~80) plus two late fees ($~60). We payed roughly $150 in full to bring our bill to zero (we actually payed it $5.00 over). This month they gave us a late fee. This is very strange because our bill isn't even late yet. It is due in five days. Here is something they don't tell you when you sign up. One month of just internet service is $41.18 plus $2.06 for cable (?). Their late fees are $30. Thats almost a whole month of service! I don't make that much money to be honest, I find a $30 late fee to be fairly extreme punishment. I called the customer service department and the representative kept talking over me, and not stopping to answer my questions. They were very manipulative. The worst part of these big corporate ISPs is that you always lose. If we changed to Time Warner, we would have to forfeit our deposit on our Grande modem for nonpayment. Then we would have to pay for installation and tax on the modem for Time Warner Service. I wish there was a smaller independent broadband ISP that had straighforward billing procedures and a reasonable customer service department. read more
