Seated, we are presented with warm rolls and our waitress Molly who has reminded us of the definition of exceptional service. From the wine suggestion, to our apps, entree and dessert, her recommendations were spot on (more on that to come). We wanted to sample as much as feasibly possible, so we started with stuffed mushrooms and calamari. The calamari was fine - just the right chew with a delicate fry coating. But the mushrooms... seriously. Five cremini caps with a perfect balance of crab filling topped with what appears to be a dual purpose spinach dip, in all the best ways. To enjoy both, go for the mushrooms. Entrees: my hubs order much spaghetti and meatballs, which was lovely. But. I ordered the Veal Romona, at the approval of Molly and proved to be absolutely delightful on So... Many.. Levels. Beautifully cooked fried veal cutlet I could cut with my butter knife, lovely tomato-cream sauce with a perfect spice, onion, pepper balance. Tears tickled the corners on my eyes as I just had to take it all in, even before I made my way into the angel hair. Since we drove over from AL and still have the trip back after our meal (and a couple of glasses Sauvignon Blanc) Inasked about dessert and coffee. Molly came through again... you definitely to do what I did and order the cheesecake with caramel-chocolate drizzle... make sure to order the "cheesecake - Molly-fied". This has been a long standing establishment in a previous location but only recently acquired the current space within the past couple of months, locally owned, and absolutely exceptional in every way in this day and age where eating out in this economy is hit-or-miss. You will NOT miss by choosing here... again, rarely does a place hit all five stars for me - atmosphere, hospital vibe as if being a welcomed guest in someone's home, locally owned, superb wait staff, and food quality. Bread was brought to my table right before my food came out, which I appreciated. The portions are pretty big, so I took the rest of the meal home with me. They are button mushrooms that have been and white ones and other spices and they were fantastic. On to the main course. My wife and I shared the seafood paella for dinner. And my in-laws shared the pan bronzed redfish. They were both exceptional. We will definitely be returning both for dinner and the occasional tapas and cocktails. PS. Valencia, near downtown Covington, is a stylish, contemporary presence featuring tapas and traditional Spanish cuisine, with a respectful nod to the local culture. Service was friendly and attentive today, with Dara providing valuable info on menu offerings and taking excellent care of us. Today we enjoyed their specialty tapas; a Valencia roll, fried calamari, and a brand new offering - fried chicken pesto flatbread. All were excellent, with the roll having a sumptuous glaze and the calamari packing a tasty jalapeño punch. The flatbread, which we found out that we were the first to try, may have been the star of the show; generously portioned, with a thin crust, moist chicken and a zesty , but not overpowering, pesto finish. Although we were too full for dessert, several appealing ones were available. A number of specialty cocktails were also featured. We enjoyed their sangria. We look forward to returning to Valencia!

She is not only welcoming and knowledgeable but the food she serves, especially the soups, is next-level delicious. Every single soup I've tried has been a hit -- absolutely flavorful and comforting, with the crawfish pepper jack being a standout favorite. It's rich, perfectly spiced, and completely addictive. The chef at this location is clearly talented -- the steaks are amazing, and I honestly don't think I've had a single item I didn't love. Whether it's red beans, fish specials, or her daily creations, everything has been consistently delicious. Bottom line: don't sleep on Bridget's soups. Don't let this place fool you because it is small, "quaint" and local, or because of other star ratings.
