In reading the reviews of AMG Management, I found it very common to have different kinds of experiences with HOA management companies the same way people have different experiences with construction and other companies...it just happens. Over the years, I have worked with several HOA management companies and all of them had issues at one time or another; for example, some had high employee turnover rates and two other management companies went out of business without telling the Board! As for AMG, I have worked with AMG management company for at least ten years and have found them, overall, to be a great company for the two communities where I served as a Board member. First, the owner, Earl Feuer has been in the HOA management company for many years and has a wealth of knowledge about HOA management in all sizes of communities. He employs a staff that keeps current with all laws and HOA changes that may impact a community. Second, the services he offers, for example, bookkeeping of all HOA finances including past due accounts, HOA web site creation and maintenance, legal resources, monthly meetings, reports, Reserve Study reports, etc., are all provided on a professional and timely basis. In addition, he maintains a lengthy list of vetted local vendors that can be of service on short notice. Furthermore, AMG has the expertise to help a community update aging CCRs. The bottom line is HOA management can be a very messy business with many Board members NOT doing their due diligence with their community issues, acting like children and playing the blame game, specifically, towards management, when something goes wrong. Are there going to be times when things go wrong...definitely, but that happens in all business relationships and playing the blame game only makes difficult issues worse. Only if everyone, including the Board, community members, and management acknowledge their individual responsibilities, and work together to address issues when they arise in a timely, logical, rational, and professional manner, is it a win-win for everyone involved. This was my experience working with AMG in both communities where I was a Board member, and I highly recommend them to any community looking looking to put in the time and effort it takes to create and excellent Board/Management relationship. read more

Association Management Group is superb. We have been working with this company since 2009. The GM, Earl Feuer and his team are responsive and helpful. We recently sold our home in Ventana where this group helps manage the HOA's business. When selling a home there are always lots of items that require attention in order to satisfy the new owners and help meet the closing date. In every area, Earl and his team were both pleasant to work with and responsive. In addition, many of the neighboring HOA's in La Jolla have inquired about having Earl and his team manage their community. I would highly recommend this business. read more

I would like to recognize Association Management Group for their prompt service, especially Vanessa Beebe. Vanessa's aptitude and quick responses helped us obtain an HOA Approval for Sonoma Hills HOA within 3 days!! This is unheard of. Especially as a contractor I know most Management Companies will not deal with the contractor. Vanessa, the resident and myself were all in chain email and this could not have gone any smoother. Thanks again for your excellent service Vanessa especially during these times. Kuddo's to you and your team. read more

Called to have HOA send in the master insurance policy to my home owners insurance company. I was told I had to do that myself after obtaining it myself from them. When I called the loan company the gentleman told me that was AMG's responsibility. He called them directly and added the AMG representative on a conference call. She immediately became hostile and stated she was unwilling to send the information to them. When he stated he was online on a conference call and asked her to send the information and reiterated it was their responsibility if requested she relented and said she would send it. When I asked her why she would not have simply done that weeks ago she refused to answer and ended the call abruptly. In the end I suppose this does not matter because the HOA board was recalled and AMG is now fired although Feuer magically stated he quit 30 days ago. Buyer beware of this company. Look up how many civil suits are outstanding against them and educate yourselves. This is not a company that would serve your community well. read more

they change employees monthly so you never know who is handling your case. they didn't pay our insurance which was then cancelled without our knowledge. we just had a fire and may not have insurance coverage because of them. we willhave to sue. we've been trying by phone and email to get a response for the past 3 months, and nothing. they may be out of business or something. read more

I find AMG is way better than the previous management company. Under the direction of or Board of Directors AMG has completed several large remedial maintenance projects. Several more are in the queue. Is AMG perfect? No, but they are making some good progress. The trend is positive. One issue I have is our contact point does not accept phone calls - But, from my experience e-Mails are responded to in a timely manner. 3 stars for now - I will reevaluate in 2-3 months. read more

***Response to Loan S.*** The issue is not regarding the notice we received but the unprofessional manner in which our response to it was dealt. I'm sure that Earl Feuer can fill you in on the rest of the details, just have him search his emails from September 3, 2014 directed towards me. Originally he had asked me to contact Cheri White but later changed his tone, writing in all capital letters, and telling me not to contact him or her directly. The issue was concerning an Over-the-Air-Reception Device protected by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rule known as OTARD. This rule was mandated by Congress and protects the rights of people to have such devices on their property even in common areas, to include condominium complexes and areas such as balconies, Rawlings and even roofs. In the original installation we found we were entitled to this ruling and even before making the install still requested approval from the HOA at the time, back in July of 2012. Written approval was provided which was later presented to Eric when he DEMANDED it be removed as he childishly proclaimed "Perhaps you don't realize the Association owns the building that the dish is mounted on and WE ARE NOT OK with YOUR dish mounted onto OUR property.". Wow! Glad I don't live where these type of people can harass me anymore. Hope this helps . read more

Earl works closely with our board to maintain our community, manage vendors and handle everyday issues that pop up. His staff is well trained and responds promptly to phone calls and emails. Earl is well versed in new legislation that affects our community and does a good job of keeping the board informed. AMG is by far the best management company we have worked with. read more

I'm President of our HOA and we've had AMG over 20 years. Earl, Robin, Loan and the rest of the team have never let us down. Efficient, responsive and super friendly are only a few ways they do their job. You just don't find this level of attention anymore in business. Highly recommend their services! read more

If I had the appropriate words to describe just how horrendous this experience was with Earl and his team I would write a long review. Just know AMG couldn't be worse if they tried. Earl is unprofessional, rude, dismissive, unresponsive and worst of all emotional when he can't control or doesn't like what homeowners are saying. A leader he is not. At least he wasn't for the years he was hired for our HOA. Thankfully he moved on when he knew he wasn't welcome any longer. Don't judge a book by his cover but the popping gum during HOA Meetings and the three times I witnessed him storm out of meetings cussing and slamming his folders and briefcase among other things was beyond belief. Nice to abruptly end a meeting like that. If you are wondering if something wrong with the way you are treated you are probably right. Other negative reviews ring true. I completely agree with them. The above is my personal opinion and I stand by it. read more

I have lived in my community for over 25 yearend have worked with several management companies and AMG is by far the best we have had! AMG has done a really great job in bringing our community up to code on so many issues and in getting our delinquencies down to almost nothing - since they took over about a year and a half ago we have accomplished SO much. The sidewalks are now safe to walk on with all the trip hazards being ground down. The spark arresters are being replaced with up to code versions. The landscaping is being revamped to drought tolerant plants with new drip sprinkler heads. In the process of installing new light fixtures that are modern and high quality. And this is only a sampling of the things they have accomplished. I urge you take the review left by Michael and Arlene A with a grain of salt. read more

I am a member of my community's HOA Board of Directors and I have found Earl F. and his employees at AMG to be both dedicated and professional. Our HOA meetings are well prepped and well run - the agenda packets always arrive prior to the meetings, and the meetings themselves are run in a very professional and efficient manner. Earl is responsive to the Board's directives and works to quickly implement them. He is also well versed in the laws and regulations governing HOA behavior, and is often essential in keeping the volunteer Board members aware of what they can and cannot do legally. Some of the negative reviews here seem to be based on the personal issues of the reviewers rather than any demonstrable failure on the part of AMG. I would happily recommend AMG to other HOAs looking for a good management company. read more

Zero customer service with attitude, hard to get a hold of , and extremely slow response time. It make me sick that I pay them money each month to do nothing at all. Actually considering moving. read more
