Oncor Electricity hired Asplundh to trim trees in our Irving TX neighborhood. For such supposed "experts" concerned with safety it was disconcerting that they ignored the utility easement (provided for exactly this purpose) and instead broke into the LOCKED backyards of my home and neighbors and damaged gates. Don't bother complaining; their arrogance is only exceeded by their willingness to lie and then hang up on you. In my case they claim they climbed my 12-ft fence from a tree in a neighbor's yard, a boldfaced lie because there ARE no trees large enough to climb in their yards anywhere near my fence line. There was no need to even be in my yard or break my gate to enter as the trees they needed to trim were fully accessible from the easement....yet they never bothered to trim them! You'd think when you encounter a higher-than-normal fence with a padlocked gate also secured from the inside you might think there is a darn good reason such efforts are present to keep something IN and people OUT and want to stay out of that yard. It's fortunate my large dogs were inside at the time because they also left the gate wide open and now it won't latch due to damage to the hinges. When confronted they pretended not to speak English (and several of them apparently did not and I'd not be at all surprised to find the majority are "undocumented workers", as is common practice by unethical businesses) but then presented the police with a business card featuring a bogus name and number to call at the Mansfield office. Once the REAL number was tracked down, their concern for safety and professionalism was such they eliminate any complaints by hanging up on the caller and refusing to return calls. They might remember the Castle laws here in Texas and consider that many folks, upon finding intruders in their secured yards, can and should shoot them. read more
