It is located about a block away from the street corners mentioned above and my husband and I thought it was a worthy place to stop in for a late lunch. We walked in around 2pm on a Friday and had missed the lunch crowds. We specifically had wanted to go to this spot for it being a vegetarian establishment and everyone on this earth (including us) could hazard to get more greens into their daily diet. Veggie SF spin on this is that with so many outbreaks in the world of listeria and other animal based diseases that have made it into the human food chain, eating vegan is the right choice to avoid all this. Early reviews mentioned a busy lunch hour and a surely staff, but this was quite the opposite of our experience when we went at 2pm (In Hong Kong, if you are with the 3 million people in about a two square mile radius that is trying to eat lunch, this is just a consequence of your environment...it is what it is and nobody should be shocked when an eatery is busy at lunchtime). We had a delicious meal and were impressed with the creativity the menu choices (spinach oyster puried soup was scrumptous!), weekly rotation of some new items on the menu (the mock chicken skewer was so good, you could not have known the difference from the real thing), the visual feast of "circa 1960 decor meets San Francisco neighborhood cool" to keep your eyes busy while you are sitting there (we especially loved the SF 49er display!) and loved seeing the owner there on sight. Everyone should eat more greens. Make it easy and fun for yourself and your family by disguising those greens binto the creative meals at VeggieSF. We will be back.

They just have so many vintage trinkets so feel like you're at a store than restaurant as you enter. It has dim lighting, and it's a small-ish space, so you feel quite cosy. DEFINITELY a great date spot! They were also playing swing jazz, which really was the cherry on top regarding ambience. I'm in love. The food menu was quite extensive. It was quite hard for me to pick as there didn't seem to be any way the menu is categorised. There's some asian-inspired dishes, some veggie burgers, pastas, salads... I went with a burger in the end. It was beetroot based center and came with small side of salad and pumpkin and potato wedges. Salad was good, with a light yummy dressing. The burger I was surprisingly impressed with, usually veggie burgers are more of a miss for me. I thought the beetroot was made to a texture really similar to mince beef - very yummy. The wedges though was more of a miss. It still looked grilled from the outside, but when you bite into it, it tastes like it was boiled. I think the kitchen might've done a shortcut in grilling their veg! Overall great experience, service was very friendly too. Not the best value veggieplace, but I think you pay for the ambience and for service. Will go again, and most probably with a man this time :)

They have a huge menu of options that will appeal to all types of eaters as well as a large grocery store where you can pick up tons of goodies to go home and cook them up yourself. I cam here specifically on a mission to try the Just Scramble, a product that we can't get in North America yet. It's a plant based "egg" and it did not disappoint. I've tried VeganEgg and other vegan egg products but they've all been terrible, but this was definitely passable. The egg was delicious and I liked how it was incorporated with some Beyond Meat crumble which made it that much better. It was hard to taste the egg alone since it was very seasoned but it was delicious nevertheless. I also tried the bao buns which were good, but not as good as the scramble. I thought the bun was a bit dry but the filling was meaty and definitely fulfilled my craving for meat. On the way out I picked up some vegan gummies and treats (from Europe I believe) and they were amazing. Slightly sad that a lot of the items in the store come from so far away but I think if the trend catches on this issue should be fixed. I enjoyed my experience dining and shopping at Green Common and left feeling satisfied mentally and tummy-wise.

I am vegetarian so was tempted to buy up all the cool vegetarian snacks, food, and meals. The only reason for not 5 star was when I was trying to order my food at the counter there was a worker who was finishing her shift and was buying some products. The two other people behind the counter kind of ignored me and was not very warmly to take my order. I feel like a bowl of noodles (with an upgrade) and added drink for 103 was not too bad.

I chose the "3 toppings" order which comes out to be $95hkd or ~$12usd for a lot of food that I couldn't even finish it all. The "toppings" I could choose from were things like tofu red curry, fresh rice rolls, and stir fried veggies. Nice for a work lunch or a healthy alternative with fresh veggies. They have a wide selection of pastries, puffs, muffins, and cooked breakfast in the morning. Their blueberry muffin is one of the best I have had in Hong Kong. Sometimes i reserve a cheat breakfast meal just to sneak in a blueberry muffin from here! The reason why bread & bistro gets a 3 star is because of the quality of the food served during lunch. The flavours are off and the options are not enticing. I've had quite a few dishes... Japanese curry - pretty standard and not outstanding. However, the meat in Japanese curry is a minced chicken patty which tasted very processed Taco rice - there is way too much rice, or was off proportionally. There was not enough fish or toppings to mix into the rice, and the mayo (sauce) was not great Ramen - the noodles were bland and the pork slices are so dry... Recommend for baked goods / breakfast. I have yet to try the food, but one afternoon I had a sudden craving for a smoothie and Yelp led me here. After considering the various smoothie options (a plus in my book!) Personally, I call it a mild form of orthorexia. Despite my penchant for night market snacks and sushi and candied yams and all of that, there's nothing I love more than a raw cacao brownie or a giant plate of micro greens. Unfortunately, the Western organic food movement hasn't quite caught on in Taiwan at all. So I did a bunch of research and made a list of places I wanted to visit in HK, a place filled with health-conscious Western palates. Where the kale is abundant, the Quest Bars are numerous, and the cold-pressed green juice flows freely. nood food is a raw, organic cafe located right alongside the Pure Fitness gym in the SoHo district. There are both dine-in and takeaway food options, plus a full juice/smoothie bar and pre-packaged food items for sale (kale chips, raw chocolate bars, crackers, granola). You can also purchase juice cleansing sets from them as well. I didn't bother looking into this as I was only in town for the weekend. We dropped in for an early dinner on a Saturday evening. After much deliberation, I opted for the small salad box. For $62HKD, you get to pick 4 different salads from a pre-prepared selection in the display case. The brown box is deceptively minuscule - the guys there generously pack it to the brim! I had the kale, roasted pumpkin, cucumbers, and eggplant. Everything was so fresh! Seasoned to perfection, with a savory Mediterranean flair, and absolutely delicious. If I lived in Hong Kong, I would surely be a frequent customer.
