I'm what some might call a particular eater. Personally, I call it a mild form of orthorexia. Despite my penchant for night market snacks and sushi and candied yams and all of that, there's nothing I love more than a raw cacao brownie or a giant plate of micro greens. Unfortunately, the Western organic food movement hasn't quite caught on in Taiwan at all.
So I did a bunch of research and made a list of places I wanted to visit in HK, a place filled with health-conscious Western palates. Where the kale is abundant, the Quest Bars are numerous, and the cold-pressed green juice flows freely.
nood food is a raw, organic cafe located right alongside the Pure Fitness gym in the SoHo district. There are both dine-in and takeaway food options, plus a full juice/smoothie bar and pre-packaged food items for sale (kale chips, raw chocolate bars, crackers, granola). You can also purchase juice cleansing sets from them as well. I didn't bother looking into this as I was only in town for the weekend.
We dropped in for an early dinner on a Saturday evening. After much deliberation, I opted for the small salad box. For $62HKD, you get to pick 4 different salads from a pre-prepared selection in the display case. The brown box is deceptively minuscule - the guys there generously pack it to the brim!
I had the kale, roasted pumpkin, cucumbers, and eggplant. Everything was so fresh! Seasoned to perfection, with a savory Mediterranean flair, and absolutely delicious. If I lived in Hong Kong, I would surely be a frequent customer.
