When calling to cancel, who I was talking to got really snappy with me. I was already told in a previous call that it would be canceled. They didn't do it so I wasn't exactly happy about having to call again. When I told them, again, I wasn't happy about how I was billed she told me I could talk to a doctor. I said "it's okay I am going somewhere else." In which she replied "I think the doctors here know more than your sister who just works a front desk." I told her it was my SIL who is a dental hygienist and so she knows what she's talking about. In which her final response was, "fine, then you should go to her. Byeeeeee." And then hung up on me. The person I talked to on the phone that scheduled the appointment said they would try to do the new patient exam and xrays as well as fill the cavity I had in the same day. After speaking to the dentist, this was an extreme surprise to her.....apparently they do not schedule new patients for anything more than an exam and xrays on the first visit. The office manager also seemed surprised that his staff even suggested having the cavity filled on the initial visit. He had no idea at all that aspen dental had prices online for their treatments, which were quite different from the prices I was quoted. Having no dental insurance, the price differences are huge for me. Also, after speaking with the receptionist to schedule my appointment, I was promised that a 20% off dental work online coupon would be "on my file". The office manager also had no idea what I was talking about, but amazingly said he would honor it. Before leaving I learned that you must pay for 60% of your next treatment before even scheduling for the appointment!! According to their policy this is not true: "Payment in full of the estimated patient portion of the fees is due no later than when services are rendered. For comprehensive treatment plans requiring multiple office visits, Aspen Dental requires a minimum deposit of 60% of the total estimated patient portion of the fees at the start of treatment." I would love to know how getting 1 cavity filled is a comprehensive treatment....or even why the payment must be due before scheduling. Their policy does NOT say this! I was not happy about this and plan to never go back! The office communication seems horrible and how can you be an office manager and not know what you have online? REALLY?!

Aspen claimed it would take 2-4 business days for them to get the x-rays sent over. When I called aspen and demanded them, they emailed them immediately and lied and said the other office didn't request them. I ended up getting an emergency root canal at another office who got me in the same day. They charged less than half of what aspen wanted me to pay and were much more professional and caring.
