Miserable experience. From the start. Never even got treatment - no relief for my pain, refused to schedule me until my insurance was verified, and then all of a sudden when they did verify my insurance, I got banned from all locations for "abusive behavior" on the phone. Sent a letter to my home. Because I told the woman that I was in pain, and I couldn't wait until April 2nd for a root canal. Oh, and that's after the insurance verification process included them reading ALL of my personal information out loud on the phone in front of the entire waiting room (which was full) - can you say HIPPAA violation? My social security number, my mother's, loud and clear. I could hear the information from the corner. Loud mouthed, and ignorant. The staff did nothing to help me. When I say avoid at all costs, I mean it. Skip aspen dental and search up one of the amazing OTHER dentist's offices that are small businesses and where you're more than a number. Never, and I mean NEVER trust a chain with your care because all they care about is getting you in and out. They do nothing care if you are satisfied, in pain, this Aspen Dental would let you die on the table while they "verify your insurance." Sickening. And I am still in pain. read more

Don't go here unless you want a run around. I made an appointment for a tooth with extreme pain. Went through the entire process including x-rays and then them going through and telling me everything that was wrong in my entire mouth. I spoke up and said I thought my tooth was going to be taken care of today. They stated, "No it was just a consultation for today." Then directed me to some lady for billing and setting up appointments. When I was talking to her she stated, "When I talked to you on the phone earlier I told you that it was only for the exam/consultation." This was a bold faced LIE! I corrected her and said that she called me and stated that my insurance was no longer valid and she said I would have to pay out of pocket. I then went over my insurance information with her and she was able to correct it. While sitting with her she stated that I would have to make an appointment for the extraction. The earliest they could get me in was Tuesday which is 6 days away! So... nothing done, I know this tooth needs extracted but the biggest thing is they didn't even give a suggestion AT ALL to help mitigate and ease the pain even if I would have made an appointment. Son had wisdom teeth removed. office would not accept cash and took $600 from his bank account which was to be $150. billed 2 dental insurances and took a loan out for triple the cost of the procedure. office and corporate is blaming the loan company they go through (HFD) and HFD is blaming office. insurance fraud to the finest and not a single worker will own up to their mistake. bank and dental insurance companies have been made aware of the fraud. read more

I did 5 fillings in this office. Right now, I feel sour on 2 of the fillings when eating. I told the doctor that I don't feel good on one tooth, the doctor suggested a filling. But right now, the tooth still. Finally, I find out that the doctor made filling on another tooth. I visited another dentist, who told me that my tooth is good. How weird! All I can say is beware! Total butchers and rip off artists. I was charged over $8000.00 for teeth I cannot wear. The dentist who removed 16 teeth at one time was the most horrible nasty man I have ever encountered. The dentures I received were a joke and they refuse to give me back my money. I had to put another $3000 out to another dentist to correct it. I have read many reviews about this place and talked to many FORMER patients. All have had similar issues with this horrible place. Worst experience ever. The front desk guy was inattentive and had me wait. He was on the phone when I got there so I signed in and he handed me the form to fill out so I took it and filled it out and waited to be called. That is fine I understand being busy. I waited 25 minutes... Not another soul in sight. Finally I asked and he said he was waiting on my form. Are you kidding me. It Is a 2 page form you thought it took 25 minutes to fill out... and in the case it did shouldn't you offer some help? Then after that the tech was nice but it was old and dirty and cold... just weird. Didn't get a cleaning... which is why I went... in fact there wasn't even a hygienist in the building... they only have a hygienist in a couple days per week. Then they recommended a ton of work. UPDATE TO THE BELOW: I went to another dentist and she said there was absolutely no sign of bone decay and that I only needed a regular cleaning. Aspen Dental is a bunch of crooks!!! BEWARE!!! I think that all Aspen offices more than likely are using fraudulent practices. After my experience I researched them on the web and found that I was not the only one who feels they try to tell you that you need procedures done that are not necessary. Just google "Aspen Dental fraud" and you will find tons of claims. Just look them up on the BBB and you will see what I am talking about. I went in for a new patient exam and cleaning and when I got there, before they even saw me teeth, they told me I would not be able to get a cleaning today until they were able to assess my teeth because there were different levels of cleaning. That should have been my first alarm that something was up. I have been to many "new patient" dentist appointments, due to switching of jobs and insurance in different states, and I have NEVER not had a cleaning done on my initial new patient appointment. The dentist came in and said I needed a little work done on an old filling (which I had already known about from my previous dentist) and then said the office manager would be in to schedule my cleaning and tell me the cost for the work that needed to be done. The office manager came in and handed me a paper with costs of over $300 for an STM1 cleaning. I asked her what was that and she said "oh, the dentist didn't tell you about that?", she said I needed some deep under the gum cleaning thing because the dentist saw some bone decay in my ex-rays. Don't you think he would have told me about that in person and not have the office manager tell me? lol...Anyway, red alarms bells went off all over and I told her I would call them to make my next appointment. When I got home, I researched the procedure and found that this is something that Aspen Dental tries to get over on 95% of their patients. They have a program set-up for a free check-up. I went to it was told I had 3 cavities that needed done and a couple of other things. Was high-pressured to sign a contract for $2,838.00 to fix the problems. Went to another was told I had just 1 cavity - got it filled for less than 25% of the cost Aspen wanted to charge me. Update... had a terrible experience and then contacted by office manager stated they would refund me for a payment they took for service they had not rendered then told it took 3 weeks. Why would it take 3 weeks to get my money back for services they did not give? That's ridiculous!! Here's an idea, don't take money when you haven't earned it. My experience with Aspen Dental in the Ontario office has been very good. The people working there are professional and friendly. They were very accommodating with appointment needs and overall made a difficult procedure as pleasant as possible. I would recommend this group for dental needs. read more

My husband and I made appointments for new patient exams in November of 2018. Our appointment was January 15, 2019. We arrived 15 minutes prior to complete paperwork as suggested. After waiting 45 minutes, and seeing other patients that arrived after us be taken in, my husband inquired as to our wait time. The response was that 2 people called off and the x-ray machine was not working so they were behind schedule. We asked how much longer and we were told at least another 20 minutes. I then inquired as to why we weren't told about this when we arrived. We were told in a nasty tone "I am the only one working". I do not think it would have taken much time to have tell us they were "running behind schedule" when we arrived. If this common courtesy would have been extended to us we could have went out to get a snack and returned. We had a 50 minute drive to get to this Aspen Dental office (we did not have any other providers in our plan closer). As we are both diabetic we could not wait any longer and had to leave. This was extremely unprofessional and rude. I would NOT recommend this Aspen Dental office to anyone. If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. read more

Beware of Aspen Dental in Ontario, Ohio. My husband went there to get full dentures. We should of had a clue when we were sitting there for his appointment and a patient came in complaining that her dentures did not fit. When my husband went in we found that it cost a whole lot more than advertised. My husband needed full dentures and I had a care credit card but did not have a balance to cover it. Hence over $4000.00. The billing guy there was even bold enough to call my credit card himself to have my credit increased. Of course I had to talk to them after he handed me the phone and I did agree because I wanted my husband to get his dentures but when I did, I didn't know there were hidden costs. He got his dentures and wouldn't you know, they did not fit. They made him a new pair but now they want to charge over $600.00 for a liner. REALLY???? I highly recommend not going to Aspen Dental. To this day, my husband still can not wear his dentures and we can not afford to go anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and find someone other than Aspen Dental!!!!!! My family just started going to Aspen Dental. I have only good things to say. Out of the 4 times I went they were on time three times. Doesn't sound great 3 out of 4 but its really good especially for visits later in the day. I always assume that a dentist or doctor will be running at least half an hour behind. I appreciated that they seemed to keep pretty close to their scheduled times. The best part is their hygienist. I have a lot of anxiety when going to the dentist even just for a cleaning. She did everything she could to keep me calm but the best part is how she interacted with my kids. My kids range from 4-10 and for my little two at 4 and 5 its really hard for them to sit still while they're getting their teeth checked. She talked them through everything and showed them everything that was going into their mouths. She made sure they were comfortable for the entire exam. She even gave my son a pep talk when he started panicking about needing some baby teeth removed. My kids are asking when they can go back to the dentist again because she made it such a good experience for them and too me that makes this a 5 star dentist. The only downside I have found is that they do have to give you a referral for root canals, especially when you have twisty difficult roots. I do appreciate that they're sending me to a specialist though instead of trying to do it themselves instead. read more

Terrible. They were almost 45 minutes late with my appointment. When they did my X-rays, the piece they out in your mouth was way too big and cut into my gums. I said this several times and the girl taking the X-rays did very little to try and alleviate that for me. I wanted a cleaning and had to schedule another appointment. The dentist's 'exam' was an absolute joke. He looked at my X-rays and looked at my mouth for 10 seconds at the absolute most, then just said I should keep doing what I'm doing. He barely saw my teeth to even judge how healthy they were. The X-rays and so called exam were free and even that felt like too much. I wasted about two hours of my time and feel like I did absolutely nothing for my dental hygiene.
