Their clinical skill matches any of the advanced technology we saw from Seoul to Tokyo, and their office far exceeds the smooth, patient-focused experience we found in Sacramento and Seattle. The staff is warm, honest, and gentle--they do not rush you. Dr. Jackson always maintains an upbeat, welcoming, and friendly environment. He provides exceptionally professional, thorough, and reassuring care. He explains every step of a procedure to our children and us parents alike. He prioritizes reducing anxiety and ensuring family-wide peace of mind. Whitney Cockley, the office manager, consistently provides responsive, reliable assistance. With one child in braces and two others on the verge of getting them, scheduling for three children can often be challenging. On multiple occasions she has resolved calendar conflicts and accommodated urgent dental emergencies for our family. Regarding insurance and billing, she always takes the time to clearly explain complex policy details and patiently guides us through the process. I specifically called ahead to confirm that they accepted Aetna DMO, and their staff assured me they did. Based on this, I scheduled cleanings for my three children and proceeded with additional dental work for my child when cavities were found. Only AFTER 3 dental cleanings for all three of my children and a major dental procedure under anesthesia was completed was I informed that Playtime Dental was actually out-of-network with my insurance. This left me with a substantial, unexpected bill that I would have never agreed to had I been given accurate information. This is completely unacceptable--it is standard practice for dental offices to verify insurance BEFORE performing major work, especially something as serious as crowns and anesthesia. Their failure to do so put my family in a terrible financial position, and they have refused to fully correct their mistake. If you are considering this office, be VERY cautious and double-check everything they tell you about insurance coverage. I would never trust them with my children's care again.

My children are relaxed and comfortable in this totally kid friendly environment that Dr. Malek and his staff have created. They understand that kids are not big people in little bodies. Kids need treated as kids. The staff take time with the kids to teach them proper oral care techniques. We travel approximately 75 minutes to utilize their services and will NOT take our children anywhere else. Yes, it is a commitment of time to travel but it is an investment in their oral health. It is also an investment of money as our dental plan is out of network for Dr. Malek. None of this matters to me for as a parent, I want the best for my children and that best is Dr. Malek. My children have experienced routine dental checkups and cleanings there for the past 3 years. My older son had to have one small filling which we were allowed to stay with him while it was done. He never flinched for the oral numbing injection or for the drilling. He was very comfortable while he watched a Christmas video. My other son underwent extensive repair from misdiagnosis from another non-pediatric dentist that required conscious sedation, root canals and crowns. We had gone to Dr. Malek for a second opinion and never went back to this other dentist. As a critical care nurse, I felt totally comfortable with the monitoring of my son during the conscious sedation. My son was appropriately monitored by an anesthesiologist with the appropriate monitoring equipment while Dr. Malek focused on the oral procedures. My son went to sleep in my arms and woke back up in my arms. We received a check in phone call that night by the anesthesiologist and the following morning by Dr. Malek himself. My only regret is that I did not take my sons to Dr. Malek sooner. According to my sons, "Dr. Malek ROCKS!!!"

Easy parking in the Franklin University complex; park near the flagpole. Also the price was much lower from the previous dentist we went to, who kept charging us above what our insurance covered. Scheduling was also a breeze here. They worked with me to get both my children scheduled for cleanings at the same time, on a day when Delaware schools are not in session. Appreciate they won't have to miss school! Nitrous oxide was only $30; it is never covered by insurance, so keeping the price lower is very helpful for when my child had to get two teeth removed due to an abscess. Very nice dentist and staff, we will be sticking with this office for both kids!
