Go here at your own risk. I had a procedure that was denied by my insurance but no one told me. I…read moredid not learn until after the procedure was finished that it was not pre-authed, according to the lady at the desk on 12/17. I also had no discussion at anytime with a patient coordinator or given any information regarding cost to me on or after the prior initial appointment, per the Byrd Dental website. See screenshot from their site. The lady charged me 50 something dollars after the procedure, then we were not informed of the full cost until 12/18 when they claimed it was just denied. That paperwork shows it was denied on the 11th of November(almost 6 weeks ago) though, so they did try to pre-auth it but it was denied and no one said anything. Now I am supposed to pay 500 bucks because no one informed me it was not going to be covered, as any respected business would do. Otherwise, it is just deceptive, bad faith business practices. Simply put, if I knew it was denied, I wouldn't have had it done because I just had it done a few months ago, at a different dentist. Byrd Dental knew this and they likely knew it would be denied based on my conversations while in office. The dentist's office is blaming the insurance, the insurance says it is the dentist's office. Neither informed me of a denial and neither will have to pay for it. Just to be clear, we got appointment reminders through text, email, and calls including a real person. The dentist's office had ample opportunity to say it was denied and did not. The insurance company says they sent the mail but it never arrived in our mailbox, or to the mail distribution center where photos of incoming mail are taken. We have other mail from them regarding the previous dentist but nothing regarding Byrd Dental and we have scoured the digital photos to be certain. Byrd Dental has a chance to right this situation and keep a customer. If they do, I will update this review. If not, I hope you avoid them so this does not happen to you.

I had several old silver fillings that I wanted replaced due to cosmetic reasons, a build up from a route canal that had no pain and a tooth that was slightly chipped . Dr. Dinh refused to replace the fillings until I had agreed to let him crown both teeth with no pain. I should have ran. I finally agreed to let him crown the two teeth ( one was a molar). After he finished, I had to return to him approximately 7 times complaining that food was getting trapped in between the molar and it had became very painful. Instead of replacing the crown he continued to give me the run - around. Mind you, I had been going to him every 6 month to have my teeth cleaned , examined and x-rayed. All of a sudden he said i had bone loss where he put the crown. I ask, "how could this be"? As a result of his negligence I have severe bone loss where he put the crown and now the tooth has to be extracted. The tooth in front of the molar has constantly hurt every time I bite down on it. He continued to con his way through every visit. Please, run from him if you want to keep all of your teeth in your head. Wait time 10 minutes

Super clean, modern office with accessible entrance and office. Staff are always pleasant…read more Appointments start within a few minutes of scheduled time and I never feel rushed. Have had "deep cleaning" done to improve gum health, as well as regular cleanings. Plus, they coordinate really well with my orthodontist during my aligner treatment.

Don't do it. This is the most unprofessional, disrespectful, inconsistent dentristy I've ever had…read morethe unfortunate luck of experiencing. Let's start with the fact that they've changed Dentists more times than I can remember and hygienists are the same. They'll always try to tell you that you need 5 or more fillings and yet when I've gotten checked elsewhere they all tell me they were just trying to make money off me. This brings me to my next issue. I made an appointment far in advance. They called a few times to confirm it but I was sick and dealing with other medical issues at the time. So, I get a text the day BEFORE my appointment saying my appointment has been canceled because they couldn't confirm it. I thought ok well that's fine. Then they send me a lovely bill for a missed appointment fee. When they call back, Mckenzie, starts the conversation by saying I violated the financial policy by not calling, it is what it is, we'll send it to collections if we have to etc. I told her, listen, I have never missed an appointment you can check my history, and you all canceled the day before I have the text message to prove it so why would I have shown up? Her disrespectful, catty response? "Well you could have called, you have a responsibility too." Which i replied, "yea my responsibility was staying alive because I was sick. I didn't prioritize a dental cleaning appointment but im telling you that's what happened. You assume some of us are just lazy or careless and that's poor customer service but that wasn't the case here." She held on to her anger and disgustingly cold approach and said she'd send the balance to collections which I said, go right ahead. It will go no where and cost them more in the long run because not only is there a fee associated with sending it there, they have lost a customer and everyone affiliated with me because I'll make sure everyone I care about knows to stay far away from this "practice". My reach in Frederick and neighboring counties goes wide, and I'll make sure people dont get scammed by this atrocious place or its people. If you want: 1. Show up on time for appts but get called back 30-1hr past your appt time. Go here. 2. Unprofessional, rude, catty, young, inexperienced staff taking care of you, go here. 3. A new dentist every year or 2 years. Go here 4. Being told you need fillings and work done you dont actually need. Go here. 5. Waste your time, patience, and money, go here.
