This was my first time visiting this dentist office, and I will say that I was thoroughly impressed and happy with my experience. I've been going to another area dentist office in Frederick, and I wasn't particularly happy with the quality of care and service that I'd once received when I initially started going there. So, coming to this office was such a refreshing experience. First and foremost, it started with me setting up my appointment. The gentleman whom assisted me, I believe his name was, John, and he was so incredibly friendly. I think he was overwhelmingly one of the reasons why I had the best vibes about switching from my previous dentist office to this one. Once I arrived, I knew that I'd made the right choice. May I begin by saying that I loved how neat and clean the office was presented, and it smelled delightful! The front desk receptionist, Lincoln, checked me in and she was super nice and welcoming. My dental hygienist, Rachel, was THE BEST! I enjoyed talking to her, and she was so gentle super friendly! Dr. Lee was wonderful as well. He was thorough while completing his oral examination of my teeth and mouth. I had a concern about one of my teeth, and Dr. Lee and Rachel were so great in their assessment of my teeth before giving me their professional advice and opinions. I greatly appreciated their honesty and insight. When Rachel was finished with my cleaning my mouth felt so clean! I spent a large fortune on my mouth over a long period of time before discovering that low levels of thyroid can cause massive tooth decay and infection, and then discovering that fluoride is known to decrease thyroid levels. The True Love Dental practice is aptly named. We had two young Eastern European guests who were in dire need of dental care. Dr. Sung and his wonderful staff put the girls at ease by making them feel comfortable and working very efficiently. Dr. Sung has a very calm demeanor and is sensitive to his patients' needs. He is skilled and gentle and thorough with his procedures. The office itself is bright and cheerful, and our guests appreciated the goodie bags at the conclusion of their visit with tooth brushes and toothpaste. This dentist and facility was a good choice for me but something has happened post-pandemic. Maybe they are stressed about the recovery of their business. I was surprised that the dentist put sealants on my son's teeth without even asking me if we wanted that done. We only wanted a check-up and cleaning. He reassured me that it didn't cost extra, because my insurance covers it, but that's not the point. Do they get extra money for those little extra procedures? I have to wonder. I know businesses are scrambling to recover from the economic effects of the pandemic but bypassing the parent is not the way to do it. He said he'd put a note in my file that I want to be consulted in the future. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Consult me in the future before he puts something that lasts ten years on my kid's teeth (that obviously my son will swallow when it deteriorates later in life)? Isn't that a given? I don't care if it's the gold standard these days--you ask a parent before you do anything. I don't write reviews like this but if you're "this type" of parent, you will want to know, so I'm trying to help. Also, for my own appointment, I had asked in advance if a certain cleaning method (water pic with less scraping) would be available with all the adjustments being made due to the virus, and I was told yes on two occasions (I double checked because it was that important to me), and when I was in the chair, I got the scraping method I dislike. Then at the end of the appointment, to make a follow-up, I was told there were no available appointments in December. When I didn't want to try to come early in November (and mess with my insurance to make an early appointment possible), all of a sudden an appointment opened in December, rather than push me into January. This was a great dental office but now they are losing my trust. Shame. read more
