Best towing company in town. Very competitive rates and family owned business. I always call them first any time I need a tow.

Terrible drivers. Terrible attitude. Will not use this company based on the driving of their red truck on 99. Total jerk.

I'm assuming this was the towing company AAA sent to help me. It was Thursday night before Memorial…read moreDay. I had been driving for 3 hours already, from San Francisco, when I blew out a tire (front left, driver's side). I was on Hwy 49 just south of Grass Valley, where the highway is a single lane in each direction and barely any shoulder. Definitely not a safe location to change the tire myself, plus it was 5:30 PM - rush hour - with a steady stream of cars whizzing by. Anyway, the dispatcher (in Miami) was concerned for my safety and was very thorough, calling me back several times to makes sure she had all the details correct. The AAA truck arrived in about 20 minutes. The driver/mechanic put my spare on and I was on the road again by 6 PM. He suggested that I try nearby Les Schwab to get a new tire, since i was heading onto unpaved roads camping in the Sierra (unsuitable for my dinky spare tire). I was in luck - Ken at Les Schwab was still there at 6:07 (even though they close at 6 PM) and kindly sold to me and fitted a new tire. It was such a great price, and great service, I went back to Les Schwab (in Rocklin) two days later and got three more tires to match! I am especially grateful to AAA for keeping me safe, for their prompt service, and for the excellent referral to another local business. I've been a AAA member for 15+ years, and I couldn't be happier. Thanks, AAA!

HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS COMPANY!! Too many other tow companies that you can contact!! If…read moreI could give ZERO stars, I would!! My son's car battery died overnight and he called AAA, whom sent this Tow Company out to service his vehicle. The guy, Sam, had NO TOOLS to take the nuts off of the battery cover and proceeded to pull the cover off, breaking the piece where the cover was held down by said nut. WHAT TOW TRUCK DOESN'T CARRY A SIMPLE TOOL KIT??!!!! Besides not being professional, he was rude about it!!! I have NEVER had a bad experience with any tow company before today!! Unacceptable!! Also, I called the phone number on the side of the truck, spoke with the dispatcher asking her to have the manager call me back regarding this incident....I have yet to hear from him!

I found myself with my husband out of town and a babysitter willing to watch my kids until bed time, and my plans cancelled. I decided to drive from Lafayette, CA to Tahoe and go snowboarding for the afternoon on a bluebird Wednesday after a decent snow. I was in heaven. I rode Sugar Bowl for several hours, then it was getting too warm and I decided to call it at 2 pm. I was parked in the Village parking lot, which requires a very slow gondola ride up to the parking lot. In summary, I discovered that I had lost my key FOB for my car. After a quick meltdown, several trips to the lost and found, and some failed attempts to get several tow companies to help me out, I get a call from a very nice (and calming) man from Foothills Tow. He told me not to worry, he was going to get me home to my kids tonight. Did I mention that I was stranded 3 hours from home? He told me that he couldn't arrive for 45 minutes and to make sure I was somewhere safe and warm. Anyway, he arrived, had the heater blasting to warm me up and I told him that some guys had come by and said they thought my fob was up at the lost and found. This kind gentleman drove me up there, waited for me to get my key fob, drove me back to my car, and waited to make sure I got in safely. He didn't charge me a dime. What a generous person. If I ever need a tow up in the foothills/Tahoe area, I will absolutely be calling Foothills Tow.

The driver called when he was 15 minutes out and confirmed the details about exactly where I was. He was 100% professional from loading my car and making sure I was comfortable with the whole process. Great conversation on the short drive to Truckee. He had my car off loaded, handshake, Then he was off to rescue another stranded family. Thanks for everything, Dark Knight.

Dark Knight saved my family…read more My family had one of the roughest days possible, we were headed up to Truckee and Donner pass was closed due to heavy snowfall. All in all, we were in the car for 12 hours only to not make it there. Before finding a hotel for the "knight", we had to charge the tesla(please don't laugh). We luckily made it to the chargers in Grass Valley. I decided this was a good time to take off the chains. I loosened the chains on the tires and couldn't find the latch on the inner tires. So, I decided to creep the car forward to find the latch easier. When that happened the chains got tangled around the axel of the tesla(please don't laugh). At this point, it was 11pm and my family had been through a full day of disappointment only to have a little more dusted on top. My wife called 4 towing companies and explained the tangled chain issue, most of them declined to work on the car because it was a Tesla(please don't laugh). I decided I needed to take some ownership of the situation and called Dark Knight towing. I explained the issue, and the gentleman told me he would be there in 25min to have a look. He arrived within 25min and successfully untangled the chains without needing to cut them off. I couldn't have been more thankful. This was the singular bright spot in our horrendous day, and I didn't get the guy's name, but want to say thank you again. Tow truck drivers are constantly saving people from terrible situations and they need to be commended more. Thank you for saving my family and my tesla(please don't laugh).
