Just okay. The fried rice was barely fried, tasted more like and resembled white rice, the chow mein was extremely dry and reminded me of Safeways chow mein. Beef was chewy. Honey chicken was delicious. Pretty expensive for the quality. Likely won't return. read more

Very limited on Asian food in Monroe, this place is delicious! By no means it is authentic Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese or Korean food, but it is more of a cross between panda express and an Asian fusion restaurant. We have tried many dishes and we all like and always come back for more! These are the dishes that are our household go to when we order from here. I had the Tom Ka soup. It was slightly spicy, nice and hot, and a little bit sweet. I really liked it and would definitely order it again. Bamboo, green onions, chicken, mushrooms, and onions inside a great broth with a small side bowl of sticky rice. A great meal on a cold day. Reminds me of the kind of soup I'd like when I had a cold. This place is wonderful. The food is delicious and the staff is beyond friendly. I love stopping in at Asian Spice and chatting with the staff after ordering my food. They're small enough that they can remember the usual customers, which I think is great. I typically get the General Tso and Honey Chicken and they're both fabulous due to the fact they're made fresh. The only thing I've disliked about Asian Spice is the wait, but that's because it's made fresh. So stick out the wait and you'll be pleased with your food. read more

The food is almost average compare to . I would say a lil bit better than the average expectations of a teriyaki place with more items in the menu. The place is clean and somewhat large, servers are nice. Just come with extra time, the take a looong time to get your order ready dine in and even slower for pickup. For price verses quality, there isn't much better than Asian Spice in Monroe. For under $10 you get a great, fresh prepared dish that will make you come back again and again. My personal favorites are the General's chicken (5 stars) and the Red Curry Soup (5 stars). The orange chicken is a great alternative to Sweet and Sour chicken and is great for kids. The green bean chicken is also a nice option for the kids as well. If you prefer a bit more kick, the spicy short ribs are spectacular also. Overall, there are very few options that won't make you happy at Asian Spice. read more

Very strange experience ordering food here. I don't like places that have bizarre ways of organizing the food on the menu, weird combos and ways to order. I just want a simple menu with your basic Ameri-Asian offerings here, nothing complicated. All I wanted was General Tso's and some Chicken Chow Mein and somehow that ended up with a ton of questions and massive confusion and miscommunication between myself and the lady at the register. That all said, not really enough to make me hate the place. I accept some fault in not understanding how they had everything organized, but it shouldn't be hard to point at stuff or simply say "#1" or whatever. As for the food... The General Tso's was okay, but overly vinegar-y. The flavor the chow mein noodles were actually pretty decent, but the chicken was bland and overcooked. And somehow those two items came to well over 20 bucks? Sorry, but I'm used to getting an entree meat, a rice/noodle side, and maybe some soup or spring rolls for about that much. Just a little too pricey for how it tasted. For Monroe, it's pretty par with the other Asian food selections. I still prefer Saigon Kitchen. read more

Good. No complaints. Kind of interesting and eclectic mix of cultures on their menu, (Chinese, Thai and... Korean?). Anyway, had the vegetable pad thai. It was surprsingly good for a strip mall walk up Asian restaurant. As ultra close as I work, I'm sure I'll be back several times. The order taker lady was nice and helpful. I ordered the Mongolian beef, which is usually known for being very flavorful and spicy. Instead it was exceptionally bland, no spice to speak of at all. In fact, it tasted like a frying pan more than anything. The noodles in the side tasted strange also, the best way to describe is it tasted like a barn smells. I tried adding sauces, sweet n sour, teriyaki, nothing helped mask the bad flavors. I asked about it and they were instantly offended. I asked for a refund and it was like I kicked their family pet. She was VERY rude and loudly asked me not to come back. I told her she has earned a review on yelp. read more

Small restaurant in Monroe, but we love their food! The Panang curry is the best curry I've ever had. We've tried most of their dishes and have not been disappointed. Our favorites are the 2 entrée plates and 3 entrée plates. Love the flavoring of their noodles dishes. The service is fast. usually takes 10 minutes to make the food. I love that you can watch them cook your food, the restaurant is always really clean, and everyone there is so friendly. We've been there 3 times in the last few months and have tried many of the items they offer. The good: - We didn't get sick eating there - The food is made to order and is always fresh and hot - The veggies and meat are good quality - The service has been decent enough The bad: The food is bland, very bland, it has so little flavor they should rename the place to "No Spice". Seriously, it's that bland. It's like they're pandering to an old folks home full of IBS patients... there is ZERO flavor... For a place with spice in the name I expected at least a little flavor. Given the lack of flavor it's no wonder the place is always empty when we go... about the only other folks I've seen there are a few folks getting their stuff to go that seem to be regulars... Perhaps they have a few decent things on t he menu, but we have yet to find them. read more

I just had the worst pad thai and the worst pad see-ew I've had in my life! That in itself is a noteworthy achievement. Had my husband and I not swapped bites and come to the same conclusions, I'd swear my taste buds had spontaneously died. The pad thai was a mysterious bright orange, which deeply saturated the bottom of the Styrofoam to-go box after my dog consumed the noodles. It did have peanuts and egg and bean sprouts -- scant amounts of each -- but no spices to enliven the rice noodles and reddish oil. They threw a lump of white rice on the side as some sort of garnishment. The pad see-ew also was lackluster. No oyster sauce? Maybe just no love. Monroe's ethnic food is starting to confound me. Since Yelp requires a minimum of one star, I'll justify it by saying they offer brown rice. read more

Meh. Ordered 2 things. A 2 item plate with peanut chicken and mushroom tofu and one spicy fried chicken (which, for some unkown reason cannot be ordered as a choice in the 2 item plate). Quantities for the 2 item plate were good, but the flavors were just passable, credit for fresh taste, but nothing more than meh. Tofu was a bit sparse and the chicken was (surprisingly) a bit bland. Probably good for Monroe standards, but when there is little competition, the need to be good is not there. Might go back just to fill the gut in a pinch, but not because i crave food from this place. Thats a shame. I really wanted to like it. read more
