There's an amazing Chinese/Asian restaurant in Mason and I'm only finding out about it now? Lotus Garden is awesome! We've had dinner from here three times now and we've been stunned how amazing their food is and how great the experience is! We're constantly on Yelp and other sites searching for new restaurants to try. We have some wonderful gems here in Mason but we could always use more restaurants, especially after COVID. Lotus Garden bangs it out of the park and scratches that itch for Asian food. This restaurant is run by a really fabulous family who always treat us like a million bucks when we come in. It really is something to see the whole family putting in a team effort to bring this business together and we love supporting these guys. We love the online ordering feature, that makes our lives super easy. Everything we've tried from Lotus Garden has been delicious and well prepared! The Honey Walnut prawns and chicken are the best. Everything here is economical and feels fairly priced. We're always surprised we can get a bunch of prawns and Chinese donuts for cheap. We've tried most of the items on the menu. The bacon fried rice is completely unique to this place and amazing. They have so many different options and their menu is huge. One warning, when you see a chili pepper next to an item, it's hot and they aren't kidding. Since we've discovered Lotus Garden, we've been getting take out here at least once a week. We really like their takeout containers which keeps the food better than traditional Chinese food containers and we always get at least two days of food from a trip up here. The portions are legit and this place always feels like a big bang for the buck. Lotus Garden is as good as it gets. Delicious food at economical prices from an awesome family with a very easy online ordering system. Since moving to Shelton, WA I've been looking for a great traditional Chinese restaurant. I've tried a few other locations and found them to be lacking. Then I stumbled upon Lotus Garden. The first thing I noticed was how friendly and personable the staff (and the owner) were. We had a few questions like whether or not they would accept tap to pay (they do) as well as about the menu items and they were more than helpful. There are combination meals available for lunch, but we were there during dinner hours and everything was a la carte. My friend and I decided to try a few of our favorite dishes. We ordered Sweet & Sour Pork, Pork Fried Rice, BBQ Pork, Spring Rolls, Won Ton Soup, Chow Mein, and Almond Fried Chicken. The Sweet and Sour pork was near perfection. It was the perfect combination of crispy and tender. The sauce was spot on as well. Even better was the BBQ Pork Fried Rice. I can't even nail what the flavor is but there's a certain note when its perfect that just smacks, and this dish hit on all cylinders. Next up was the BBQ Pork appetizer. It wasn't my favorite traditional goey "Char Siu BBQ" style, but was your typical cold sliced BBQ Pork with hot mustard, ketchup and sesame seeds. For that it was very tender and flavorful. The other appetizer, Egg Rolls, were really Spring Roll style and were filled with a good variety of veggies, served with Sweet & Sour style sauce but had a hint of sweet chile & spice to it. Tasty. The Won Ton Soup was one of the best I've had, served family style. It was filled with many veggies such as snap pea pods, carrot slices, green onion, bok choy and more. The broth was traditional and had a comforting flavor to it. Perfect to warm up with on a cold day. The Chow Mein was typical veggie chow mein, not crunchy noodles available. The Almond Fried chicken was good as well, and just like the sweet & sour pork was perfectly balanced between crispiness and tenderness. Overall this was a great dining experience and I will be back for sure. I would love to give 5 stars, but -1 star for pricing and menu structure. Every a la cart dish comes with steamed rice, with an optional pricey upgrade to fried rice. With no available family style dinners, or combination plates during dinner hours, this made the meal very expensive. Hopefully they update the menu to include such options in the future. read more

Our family lived in Beijing for five years. The adventure of a lifetime. Ever since we came back, we're on the look for authentic Chinese food. Truthfully, many Chinese restaurants in America serve toned down dishes. This is the reason that when we travel, we look for the highest rated Chinese restaurants so we can taste and compare. We always hope that this one is The One. The one restaurant that has the taste of what we used to call home for five years. Beginning of spring, we went for a drive around. Two in the afternoon, we're hungry. Looking for a Chinese restaurant, close and highly rated. Lotus Garden is chosen. We connected with the hostess right away. I asked if they had a certain eggplant dish, my favorite from Beijing. They didn't. But she immediately promised that if I called ahead, she'd be happy to prepare it for us. We ordered Mu Shu Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken (my other favorite), and some Chow Mein. Long story short, the dishes, all three, were delicious. Closest we tasted out of China. Portions were large enough to eat half, be full, and pack the rest to take home. Let me tell you a secret. I had the leftovers for dinner, same day. And it was even better! Like Chinese food? The service is impeccable and the food is incredible! Service was very attentive and quick. The restaurant was light and bright. We tried the KungPao chicken and Mongolian Beef lunch plates. The KungPao had the flavors of hot and sour soup. The Mongolian beef was too much on the sweet side. Both lunches had very little meat and a bunch of filler vegetables. Would have liked to have a more equal amount of ingredients, if not more meat. This is a family run restaurant that specializes in Chinese/American food. The portions are large, the prices are low. Food is freshly prepared by a mother/daughter team and it's quite good. I ordered from Lotus Garden for the first time yesterday and my family and I were very impressed. I'd been trying to find a good Chinese restaurant for a long time. Everything we ordered was fantastic: fried rice, chow mien, mu shu tofu, Mongolian beef, prawn chop suey, fried wontons, fried sesame balls, fried prawns, hot and sour soup and the Chinese Donuts. I occasionally have to travel to Bremerton through Belfair, I try to make sure that is never on Tuesday the day they are closed. The wait staff is very friendly, the food is just amazing. Just discovered this little gem, Wow! While some say the decor is dated, all I care about is that it's clean and neat and not run down looking like our other Asian restaurants in town. The good: staff were friendly and attentive. The bad: it was nearly an hour wait for an online order. The order before me took almost as long and it looked like they made the bubble tea first, which gave plenty of time for the ice in it to melt. I'm kind of glad I didn't order bubble tea. The food: as far as either traditional or Americanized Chinese food unfortunately what I can offer here is that it's just okay. The flavors were actually pretty good. The ingredients were just kind of so-so. Both the Mongolian beef and the chow mein included shredded carrots. So much shredded carrots that all I could taste was shredded carrot. Hint guys, for the Mongolian beef substitute green onion to go with the white onion with the carrots. Mongolian beef does not need carrots. I'll go one step further. It shouldn't have them. If you're going to put carrots in the chow mein use small Julian sliced carrots rather than shredded so that it can add texture to go with the flavor and the flavor won't permeate the entire dish so much. The hot and sour soup was great. All that being said this was my first visit and I'm definitely going to go back and try some of the other dishes. We have eaten here numerous times. We have had everything from Pho'Ga, which is perfect, to nearly every non-beef entree they make. It is delicious food and worth eating it family style so you can try many items. We recently had their bacon fried rice. It was so good we were back a week later and ordered it again! The owners are wonderful people and we have no complaints. I happen to love lots of crisp veggies in my meal and they make them perfectly. We will be back over and over! The location has parking in the back and the owners are happy to assist elderly or those who need a shorter walk by opening the back door for entrance. read more
