Went into check out this place first time. Made eye contacted with the waitress and showed them table for two she just look and o respond so we grabbed an empty table near by. Waited for 5 min no one notice that we there. I went to get the menu from the counter and look at it with in second a lady came by ready to take an order... for god sake I haven't open the menu yet.. she look upset so we quickly pick something from the menu. Just don't want to wait don't know how long before she will return. I want to try their food. She took out order and came back with our two glasses of water and walked away.... we had to go to the counter and ask for a straw... waited for our foods to arrived I looked around and see some table who been there before us still didn't get their food either. I too am a Pho-oholic. 4 of us stopped into Asian Pho. 2 ordered pho one noodle salad bowl and one orange chicken and chow mein. The pho is pretty good. I don't know that I would say the best in Reno but is right up there. The chinese food was average. Service was good. We ordered Egg Roles and they were barely warm. Let's face it though it is connected to a 7/11 and Wendy's. It is what it is. It's a good place to stop in for a bowl of pho and I will return. read more

I'm no Pho expert, though I do know how to pronounce it properly. But this place seemed pretty good to me. Lots of fresh veggies and noodles with their Pho and their non-pho entrees. Eggrolls were good. Would have easily made 4 starts but I am dinging them a bit for the following reasons: 1. Their potstickers are pretty bready. Like, buying potstickers from Trader Joes and cooking them yourself results in a tighter, crispier skin. 2. My shrimp and pork Vietnamese entree was good, but it was 95.7% pork. The shrimp part consisted of three small tail on shrimp. Both the shrimp and pork were very good though. read more

I was checking out the baguettes at Trader Joe's, when I remembered how much I wanted to try the Banh Mi at Asian Pho. The only other time I ate there, I had roasted pork over noodles, and it was tasty. I really wanted to taste that pork on French bread, along with the usual other stuff: cucumber, jalapeños, carrots, and mayo. Also, I wanted to see if the sandwiches were only $4.00, which would make them the cheapest in town. I grabbed my sandwiches after a short 5 minute wait (though the restaurant was full), and headed to Trader Joe's parking lot for the taste test. The sandwiches are HUGE for $4.00! These are not your usual 6 inch offerings; they are at least 9 inches. There was definitely enough tasty meat in there. Now, the only reasons they don't get 5 stars: 1) The bread was just OK, and 2) there was no mayo or jalapeños in the sandwich. Next time, I will add Sriracha and mayo (or request it) before I leave the restaurant. And let me tell you, "There will be a next time!". You cannot beat the prices of this place. I think the large pho is only $7.00. Make sure you try this place the next time you are near Rattlesnake mountain, and tell them Joe sent you. They will probably look at you like "who's Joe?", and that's OK, because they are going to get to know who I am over the next few months, and then it will all make sense. Would not return. Grilled pork was like warm. Obviously microwaved. Sent it back. Microwaved it again. Got it back hot. But it was one of the toughest, dryest cuts of pork I have ever had. Terrible. They also gave us chicken instead of beef for our other dish. The only thai iced tea they offer is in a can. It was clean and the furnishings were up to date. That's the reason for two stars. I was not greeted when I walked in. The customer service was not the best, they got my order wrong, I asked for a certain type of noodle and they gave me the wrong kind, when I asked them to fix it they made me take out the noodles myself and put the new ones in. I understand and can expect and accept the possible language barrier when visiting a Pho restaurant or most ethnic food places. What I can't deal with is the lack of common courtesy and acknowledgment of mistakes, I won't go into detail but let's stick to what's important and that's the flavor or lack of the Pho. I ordered Won Ton Pho and it was bland and the won tons where a cross of fried and steamed but basically tasted like rubber wrapped around dry pork. Even after a shitty Pho I still tipped and never received a thank you or how was it or have a nice day (it was at 4:00pm and not busy at all) when I walked away from the payment counter. The pho beef was very monotone, and everything in it was very beefy even the noodles.once you added sauce to the soup it tasted good. And then the noodle gained all of the sauce flavors. The beef was really Dry wasn't that great the soup was bland the spring rools had an overwhelming amount of lettuce, with no meats, or herbs. OMG! The food is truly authentic Vietnamese dishes. Try lemon grass chicken, BBQ pork over rice, egg rolls and of course pho. The price is reasonable and service is excellent and friendly. The food is good. The people working there are horribly unfriendly and cold. No hello, thank you, good bye, have a nice day, anything. The old lady who works at the counter is especially cold. So next time if I need some pho "to go" I think I will go else where. I hate places that make me feel this way. LOST MY BUSINESS!!! My family and I ate here today. I told the Asian women with short hair that I wanted #25 Egg Noodle Won-ton Soup, she repeated my order. The next thing I know, I was being handled a pan fried plate from some guy who I am going to assume is the cook and owner. I told him that wasn't what I ordered and he called the women order and she said, I ordered #28. My husband who sat in-front of me said he heard me say #25. Anyway, I said forget it and they left the plate on my table. I tried one piece of meat, very small amount and didn't like it. We didn't touch it after that and my husband went up to the cashier and spoke to a long haired Asian lady and told her, they didn't get my order correct and to please make me a won ton egg noodle soup. The order came and tasted fine. The long haired Asian lady came by and put the pan fried noodle in a to-go box and left it on our table. After our meal, I went to take our children to the car while my husband took care of the bill. The guy cook who served the pan fried noodle was there at the cashier check-out waiting for my husband. Once, my husband got back to the car, he told me what happened. The long haired Asian lady said something to the guy but he shooed her off. The pan fried noodle was on the bill and the guy didn't seem to care or want to discuss about even splitting the cost of the pan fried noodle. I left without saying anything because obviously, it mattered more to them to keep the $7 dollars than my business. I will never come to Asian Pho again and neither will my family. You guys do not know how to provide service and satisfy your customers. We eat at Asian Pho at least twice a month and you lost that. Enjoy that $7 you made us pay for because you will surely loose more than that by the time I am done reviewing your business and sharing my experience with all my family and friends! The ladies that work here have some of the worst customer service skills that I have ever seen. (I'm a server at a restaurant as well) they can be rude and short and don't put much effort into their customers.... but goddamn do they make some good pho. Best in town and It's worth the bad customer service in my opinion. Takeout is the best option to keep the interaction short. read more

Being SE Asian and eating pho my entire life, I was extremely disappointed at the pho restaurants in Reno. Until we discovered this little gem. Their broth is on point! The bean sprouts were fresh unlike what we found at pho 777. The service isn't great but what pho restaurant has exceptional service? The authentic taste makes up for it. The service here is absolutely terrible. I did not feel like an appreciated customer in the least bit. We came in and had a seat, the lady with long hair came and slammed some forks and some napkins on our table and asked what we wanted to drink. We both asked for waters. Mine arrived with something black floating on the bottom. Gross. Then the lady with the short black hair came and took our order. When the food arrived it looked like we had one extra order of spring rolls so we told her we didn't order that and there was some kind of miscommunication. She took the plate away with a huge disappointment on her face and rolled her eyes. After that she never once came to our table to refill our drinks and we waited forever for the bill. Though she walked by about 10 times to go gossip with what looked like family or friends seated nearby us. They rudely stared at us the entire visit. Since it was impossible to grab her attention I finally walked to the counter to pay the bill and get out of there. The food is delicious, but the service is horrible. I eat here often. It's close to my house and the perfect place to get quick take out. The House chow mein is good, but the pork is really dry, so I try to order either chicken or shrimp chow mein. My wife likes the flame broiled shrimp and pork with steamed rice and I like it with vermicelli. The soups are good too. The rare steak is good and the broth tastes clean without extra wierdness to add "flavor" as I have tasted in other places. Spring rolls are one of my favorite appetizers but these are not the best. I've heard good things about the Banh Xeo but it's only served Saturdays and Sundays and have yet to get there in time to try it. Overall the food is well made, the place is clean, and the service is friendly. This place is a must try for anyone who likes chinese/vietnamese food. read more

A masterpiece in Pho. The broth is the best by far from any other I've ever known. These guys are very generous with portions of meat, broth, and vegtables too. Unlike others they provide fresh cilantro as well as basil, mung bean sprouts, lime wedges and jalapeño slices. The spring rolls are fresh and soft with a pork slice, cooked shrimp, shredded iceberg lettuce, cilantro and vermicelli noodles, served with a sweet hoisin peanut sauce. My only complaints are the large jalapeño slices not being thin and uniform making them hard to eat, and no fresh iced tea of any kind. read more

This little restaurant had such promise in the beginning. The owner was pleasant...in the beginning. Over our last three visits (3 strikes and you're out process), the owner became increasingly rude, her staff incompetent and unwilling to accommodate the smallest requests. We were asked to get our food to go as they were closing in a half hour. Another family came in and sat down to eat there with no complaints from staff. The food is excellent, but both times we went in together, we were treated like trash. The first time, 8:27pm when they close at 9 & they wouldn't let us sit. They did let us order to go however. The second time was during the day for the weekend banh xeo, waitress comes over, no greeting, hands us menus while not looking at us! My fiance gave her a pass at first because he's a server too and "maybe she's having a bad day." Nope, because the next two parties to come in, she greeted them warmly. Odd. I have to add that I'm white & my husband to be is Vietnamese. Before these two visits, I had gone by for lunch by myself and not been treated as rudely. I've heard from other people that they treat certain people badly, and I guess they don't like our pairing. We've been to almost every other Viet place in town & never get treated so oddly (Pho by Target is tops for nicest service.) When we walked in noone greeted us and it was pretty much all just help yourself no customer service. The two laughing hyenas also known as the owners are super loud and don't give a shit if you are trying to enjoy your meal. The food which I ordered the golden noodle special was good but was served so hot I burned my mouth. The spring rolls were super small and tasted like they were prepared hours before we ate them.
