The restaurant is located a stones throw from I-35 in a safe part of town, in front of Walmart. It's a simple and small yet very clean facility with small accents of Chinese culture thrown in here and there making for a nice ambiance. While they do have a menu one can order from, my kids and I decided to hit the buffet so we can sample a lot of goodies. Just to note the staff here are extremely friendly and always have a smile, which is to say the only time I went everyone was nice. After we gave our drink order, my girls and I hit the buffet. Now I've been to many mega Chinese buffets and this is a scaled down version yet they have many of the popular dishes. Some of our favorite items were the delicious "chicken on a stick" which literally flakes away from the skewer, the mei fun which has rice vermicelli noodles with some veggies like bean sprouts and carrots, fried rice and lo mein. These were all extremely well prepared and the servers actually rotate the old items out aka FIFO at regular intervals and give a good cleaning while there. Other notable items that were tasty are the egg roll and fried spring rolls which I prefer, tender beef and broccoli, wantons, creamy crab Rangoon and the Chinese donut. While I didn't get the following items my kids did and they liked the fried chicken wings, sweet and sour chicken, General Tso's chicken and roast pork. If these are too heavy for you, they also have a fresh salad bar with normal "fixing's" along with pasta salad, fresh fruit and California rolls (please note eating sushi rolls that have been sitting out are never very good as the rice cools down to keep the protein cold, thus missing the point of sushi) as well as various sweets like puddings, cakes berries and something I despise that fruit salad with whipped cream; I'll never eat that anywhere, ever! Sorry too many times burned at Church functions. I honestly can't recall if they had an ice cream machine b/c if they did I would have eaten it! Even with my sorrow of dropping my kids off to not see them for another year or so, Green Tea Buffet offered a nice meal and time spent with my kids. The food is good, the people nice and the restaurant is safe and clean. I really had low expectations when I stopped by and left with a smile on my face while my energy levels dipped from digesting a good meal. During dinner, I briefly left for the gaming floor while my wife stayed behind to finish eating. A few minutes later, my wife called me upset because staff members were accusing her of not paying for her meal. When I returned, there were several employees surrounding my wife in front of the entire dining room. The hostess stated she did not recognize me, and the waiter, who had already served us multiple times, initially failed to remember us as well. My wife attempted to show proof of payment on her phone, but it would not load due to network issues. The waiter had also already removed the receipt from our table. After I reminded the waiter of our drink order and details from our service, he finally remembered us and confirmed we had paid. By that point, however, my wife had already been publicly embarrassed while numerous guests watched the situation unfold. We understand mistakes can happen, but the way this situation was handled was extremely unprofessional and humiliating. We hope this matter is addressed so future guests are not treated similarly.
