Amazing food, excellent service! Seems understaffed at times but the employees are doing their absolute best

we love this place always go there the one time we refer our friends to go there and they said they didn't have to greatest time . sake came out cold. food took forever and they forgot one of the guest food then we order food I go to leave and ask for a to go box . we left the table to go outside I walked out side came back inside and they had thru my food that was in the Togo box away. and it's like serious u didn't wait to see if I'd come back so disappointed. Let's start with what is most important- the food. All the food was very tasty, each person at our table really liked their selection. (Chicken fried rice, thin Japanese noodles with chicken, and Hawaiian sushi roll) The portion sizes were generous on the meals. The service could have been a little faster, but nothing to complain about. The decor is of a traditional Japanese fashion, and the only problem I really had was there were a lot of cobwebs way up on the ceiling. I was looking at the parasols that were hanging up there, and noticed, so that was a little unappealing. We were visiting my son in Ada, and he really loves this place, so I'm sure we will be back at some point. read more

Always find a sushi bar anywhere I travel and this evening I had some fabulous sushi at Asahi. Ambiance was nice and quiet and the staff was great. Received my order very fast which caught me off guard as I expected it to take longer. Prices were in line with what I pay elsewhere. Great dinner tonight and I will be back tomorrow night to try and few different selections. read more

I was SO excited to find sushi in Ada. After experiencing it, I was equally disappointed. After having sushi around the world, I could chalk up my experience to being a "snob," but from start to finish, nothing could have helped this expensive experiment. I usually start with miso soup and edamame, and this was no different. I also ordered an unsweetened tea with lemon. Sadly, the edamame remains the star of this whole meal. The miso was simple cloudy water with a hint of miso... reminded me of dirty dish water. The iced tea arrived without ice. Then, in a mostly empty restaurant, they code to seat a coven of old ladies right next to me, who were so overly-perfumed, that I had to move tables to grab some oxygen before my Dragon Roll arrived. (PLEASE STOP WEARING PERFUME/COLOGNE TO RESTAURANTS!!!! You screw up the experience for everyone in your vicinity... SO RUDE!!!) The only good thing about the Dragon Roll was the way it looked. The wasabi (weak, dry, and scraped from the side of some container) and ginger (dry, crusty, and scraped from the side of some container) were horrible. The Dragon roll (which boasts a name suggesting bold and fearless flavors), tasted like a "pigeon roll." I couldn't pay my bill fast enough and had to go to the desk to do so because I never saw a server again. If this is your only sushi experience, please know there's a world of exquisite sushi elsewhere in the world... this ain't it! read more

Me and my family decided to get dinner here and we had a few issues. Our major issues was a serious cross contamination issue, there was crab shell in our edamame. My wife is seriously allergic to shellfish, thankfully I caught it before she ate a piece. Our second issue was the sashimi not only did the fish taste tough, the initial temp of the fish seemed a bit lukewarm. We had some smaller issues but it seemed pretty mundane. read more

The service was awful. My sushi came out at a decent time but my wife's hibachi took over an hour to come out, they had to be reminded about it and then said "it'll just be another 5 minutes". It was blatantly obvious that the chef was JUST NOW starting to make the meal. It took another 20 minutes to get the meal. By that time we asked for her meal to be to go as I had already eaten and our baby was now getting tired. The chef came out and made a big show that he reduced the price by a whole 10%. Acting as if it was some huge favor while we saw it as a total slap in the face. When we got home we discovered the meal they gave her wasn't even the right meal. They gave her a shrimp and steak hibachi instead of chicken and steak. She doesn't even eat shrimp. We called the restaurant and they told us that they would fix it by offering us a free side of steak with our next meal there. When we informed them politely that we had no intentions of returning to eat there we were told "it's just a dollar difference between the meals". So in the long run, I had some decent sushi, my wife had a little bit of reheated hibachi at home that she picked the shrimp out of, and even the steak and shrimp was so disgusting that the majority of the meal with split between our dog and cat. And with all of that thankfully we got that $5 off the meal so we didn't have to pay the extra $1 for the wrong meal. Will NEVER be returning here and will recommend to everyone that they go literally anywhere else. read more

For a sushi restaurant in Ada I was very impressed with the quality of the food. The restaurant was very clean and spacious with great service. The menu had a good selection of sushi and the normal hibachi foods. The crab rangoon app is good but lots of extra dough. The sushi was fantastic, full of flavor, and cut evenly. Prices were high but that's to be expected considering how far from the ocean you are in Ada. I would recommend giving it a try. read more

This was a good detour off the main road on the way back to OKC. I fell in love with their wontons and sweet and spicy chili sauce as an appetizer. The Rainbow Roll was delicious. The katsu was good, but the sauce tasted like A1. It would have been nice to have a glaze over the meat or something. The udon noodles were tender and soft, shrimp was bursting with flavor, but I didn't care for the sauce. It tasted bitter, like perhaps it was burned or overheated. It was still a fulfilling meal as I was starving. The service was great and I would like to try other sushi rolls or the Bento Box next time. read more

I'm updating my review from a few months ago. Giving it a better review because the meal I just had was very good. Not the very best sushi I have ever had but nonetheless VERY GOOD!! Fresh and chilled just how I like it. So on a scale of 1-10 my sushi (all nigiri) was about a 9 tonight. KUDOS to ADA for supporting a decent sushi restaurant. Old review: Ok first let me start by saying I've been eating sushi for literally 40 years and have had it hundreds of times and in most major cities in the USA. that being said I do find it remarkable that there is edible sushi in southern Oklahoma. On a scale of 1-10 I would give the sushi quality a 6.5-7. But I'm happy to have that in Ada!!! I've Eaten here 3 times I the past 2 weeks. Pros: Edible sushi in Ada Very nice atmosphere. Doesn't feel like ur in a small town. Staff is all Asian actually Japanese I suspect. Cons: Staff not warm and friendly (maybe a cultural thing?) Garnish (lemon, cucumber, ginger) obviously cut much earlier and stale. Sushi not the freshest or the most flavorful. Also prefer mine served colder. Once again, I play the game of risk where I crave sushi in a rural town in landlocked Oklahoma. And once again, I'm beyond pleased! The BEST part of the entire dining experience is the presentation of the food. The plates are decorated to the nines and then some. When I saw a plate being delivered to another table, I couldn't wait to see what mine would look like. The food was excellent and the service was great. Every time I come here, the food is so good. It's a very relaxed atmosphere as well. I've only had to wait once to be seated, and that was when they first opened. Besides that, they always have tables open. The edamame is good here as well. My favorite roll is the spicy cowboy roll. It's so good! I also like the spicy lobster roll. Came here after we had to make the drive the Home Depot for a special order. They had an awesome alcohol selection (even though I passed on it today.) the staff was really attentive. Very clean and welcoming environment. Food was fabulous. I had the Cap'n Crunch roll and Philadelphia. If I find myself out in Ada again, I will definitely come back. read more

Food was very good and prices matched the current market. Now the service needs to be worked on. Yes this is a small town and not many dining options. Manager need to instruct the servers better. We were try to sit five family members, only one person sat down and she tried taking our drink order. I asked her for just a few seconds. As soon as I finally sat down she was still there, you ready for you drink order. Give guest like 1 minute to sit down. During our $130 meal, there was no refills or checking on the table. If I could rate this place with zero stars instead of one I would. This rating is solely based off of the poor service we received. Waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge the table to take our order. 30 minutes go by and the others at my table were served with their meal; however I waited almost 45 MINUTES for two basic sushi roles. The waitress stated that everyone had to wait this long for their food, but there were people who came in awhile after my table did that were served with no issue. Management also did not feel the need to come out and ask how service was, so I guess they must not care how their business is running.
