Waited 35 minutes, then I went back to the restaurant and got the "10 more minutes" shuffle (why? not that busy...I say they booted the order). 15 minutes pass and the chow finally arrives - with no plasticware included to eat it! We had the Pad Thai take out. Fairly good, should've asked for a bit of spicier sauce and peanut sauce for the side to mix in and it would've been perfect. I sampled the red curry sauce while there and ended up dipping my egg rolls in it, good. The shrimp pad Thai had 5 shrimp in it and there was a healthy amount of beef in the beef pad Thai, they offer extra meat for a fair price. Will try some curry or soup next visit. read more

We love this place. We used to frequent Oodles of Noodles and since their menu mimics the last restaurant, we couldn't be happier. We frequently eat the Tom Kha (coconut soup), and the BBQ chicken. Make sure you order extra peanut sauce - it's that good. What's even more awesome is they customize their sautéing methods for our kids who are intolerant to soy (yes, we know it's an "asian" kitchen). But we were thankful they left it out and substituted other ingredients. Also, I love that the owner herself answers the phone every time. She is a gem. Very, very nice little cozy place to grab some quality thai food. Highly reccomend. Great selection - that is actually customizable based to your liking of choice of meat, vegetables, noodles and whatnot. Not expansive as well. Paid 27 dollars for an entree, a soup, and their $10 combo appetizer. (Which, I'd probably suggest to get a salad or another entree instead, if you're like me and like to try everything). I've been to Thai kitchen twice now and I can honestly say that the best thing they have here is their tom tom soup however food wise not so good. First time I had their chicken teriyaki it was so so not anything to be crazy about since I've tried better else where. The second time I ordered their pad Thai which was a really big disappointment because there was hardly any chicken and only one small green onion piece along with hardly hardly any pad Thai sauce. I've never honestly have tasted a bland pad Thai before. I was actually really upset because I was going to work to work a 12 hour and ended up eating the soup the whole 12 hours. After reading the 4.5 star reviews I decided to try it, and was disappointed. I ordered three dishes to share with the family, here is my review of it. Pad Thai w/chicken - this looked pretty good when I opened the takeout box so I was excited to try it, but I was greatly disappointed on the taste. It was pretty bland, it could have used A LOT more flavor because the dish was pretty tasteless and for Thai food very disappointing. Maybe this was an off day but I don't see how others have recommended it unless they have not had much Thai food exposure. Yakisoba noodles with chicken and tofu - This was not that great either, another bland dish that seemed it had a little too much moisture like the noodles were cooked covered/steamed then served. The vegetables were also on the mushier side with little taste. Teriyaki beef w/rice - the beef was also not very tasty, although I would say it had much more flavor than the pad thai or yakisoba dishes. The beef seemed like it could have marinated a bit longer and/or cooked with more sauce. The beef was also dry and a little tough when chewing. The beef looked more pale in color which is probably due to lack of marinade time. The staff is very nice and friendly, too bad the food flavor is not up to par with the service. Overall I would probably not go back based on the taste of the dishes we ordered. If you are on the fence to try this for the first time, I would skip the 4-5 star reviews and look at the 1-3 stars which are more realistic. My experience only exemplifies that you can't trust reviews on Yelp as they could be from friends and family given Asian Kitchen has under 40 reviews. This is another one and done! read more

Always a good quick staple in our weekly dinner menu. Very fairly priced and a good food overall. My 8yr loves the butter fly shrimp and the Chines Soup w/ Beef and other trimmings. Service is always quick, I usually call and pick up. I am an extremely picky eater (working on it) and I usually steer clear of Thai Food but I went to this place and ordered Pad Thai with only the sauce, noodles, egg and peanuts. Now, when I usually do this the staff on the other end of the line go "huh?" or "Are you sure?" rightfully, but this place took my order the way I liked no questions asked! Don't let the casual aesthetics fool you. The food is very, very good. This is the best pad Thai I have ever had. They give you the option of adding different meats and veggies. I added broccoli. Gotta eat them veggies. The massamun curry is delicious too. Added bean sprouts and broccoli to this classic Thai dish. Everyone seems to rave about Asian Kitchen and I'm not sure why. If this is the BEST thai food in West Linn, that is kinda sad but since most all the restaurants in West Linn are mediocre, this does not surprise me. The Pro's of Asian Kitchen is that the service is very fast, good, and friendly. The food is not bad...it's just not great. The pineapple fried rice was the best out of our four item order but the pineapple was hard and unripe. The pad thai was okay, but really lacked any flavor and had zero spice. The drunken noodle was really disappointing. It had great fresh basil to it, but was made with the same noodles as the pad thai. Every other thai restaurant I have been to makes this with the thick wide noodle. It also came with a lot of mushrooms (which I like mushrooms...) and I have not seen this in any drunken noodle before either. The salad rolls were fine but the peanut sauce was thin and watery and not thick. In all the dishes, the chicken was very dry... I guess if you have to go to the "best" thai restaurant in West Linn come here. But it's not even close as good as the thai restaurants you'll find in Portland or Beaverton... read more

First time here. I had the Yuki Udon with chicken for $8. To my surprise it came with spring rolls and a can of soda. The food is really good and pretty healthy. So disappointing!! I ordered 2 orders of salad rolls to go and yes the order was ready on time, but it was 90% iceberg lettuce and one tiny strip of tofu. Oh yes and exactly one leaf of cilantro in each roll. The peanut sauce was warm (ooh!) and had an odd smell ick ! Definitely a fam business (kids in the kitchen) and very friendly. While it's a really cute place with friendly staff and clean tables... the food is meh. The concept is that they have about 6 styles of cooking (such as with noodles or veggies), you choose a protein option, and the sauces are supposed to be different. Hubby got teriyaki beef and broccoli and the sauce tasted about the same as my sauce on my noodle dish . Plus very salty. No option for lower salt. Dumplings steamed were good but unremarkable sauce. Same with wonton. Aside from salt the flavors of all seemed muted. I'd like to see them amp up the seasonings and vary the veggies a bit from the carrot, broccoli and red peppers. Seems like a generic version of the various Asian cuisines they are emulating (Chinese, Japanese and Thai.) On the plus side everything was freshly prepared. read more
