The staff was friendly, and our orders were taken almost immediately after we were seated. We ordered the red char siu, XO sauce stir fried noodle rolls, salt and pepper crispy squid, and soft shell crab fried rice. The red char siu was on the sweeter side, which caught me by surprise at first. The XO sauce stir fried noodle rolls were flavorful and chewy, while the salt and pepper crispy squid added a nice salty, savory component to the meal. The soft shell crab fried rice was a bit bland on its own, but it balanced out the stronger flavors of the other dishes. Overall, the food came out quickly, and everything tasted good. They have an extensive menu, and I'd definitely come back to try some of their other dishes!

We ordered couple dishes family style: Stir fried cabbage - 5/5, surprisingly my favorite dish of the meal. The cabbage was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of crunch, the subtle numbing pepper added a refreshing and addictive kick. Simple but perfect. Salt and pepper crispy seafood - 4.5/5, the runner up for me. The seafood was fresh, the batter was light and crispy, and the salt and pepper seasoning was spot on. Peking duck two way - 4/5, the duck is roasted well, however, the sauce was a little too sweet for my taste. Instead of the usual low effort duck soup, the duck came with salt and pepper duck carcass which was crispy and delicious. Egg tofu with dried scallop sauce - 2.5/5, this was pretty bland compared to other dishes and didn't stand out. The service was a bit slow, probably because we had a late lunch, close to staffs' midday break. That said, the staffs were friendly, and we really enjoyed the food.

The egg was overcooked, IMO. Baked pork chop rice: 3/5. The sauce is not the traditional sauce. Kinda strange. Teddy with milk tea: 4/5. Strong tea flavor, but it had too much milk. Still good overall.

Unlike some Dim Sum restaurants, Tim Ho Wan's menu clearly indicates whether a dish is vegetarian or vegan, which I truly appreciate. And even more rare, they actually have a few vegan options. Out of all the dishes we ordered, I thought the Steamed Rice Roll with Shrimp was the best and would rate it 5/5. The rice roll was moist, silky smooth, tender, and slightly chewy, and tasted fresh. The vegan Spinach Steamed Dumpling was my least favorite and would give it 2/5. The Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gow) was good (4/5) and would totally order it again. The servers were friendly and helpful whenever there were present. I had to flag them down a few times. While I'm not sure I'd add this spot to my regular restaurant rotation, it's definitely worth checking out once.

They are mainly known for their international locations with several having a Michelin star, but not so much for their US locations. I tried to order beef ribs since it was a highly praised dish recommended by David N. and the waitress initially said they had them but then couldn't find them on the menu and pointed me to brisket instead. I just ended up ordering chicken feet, har gow, baked bbq buns, custard/lava buns, eggplant shrimp, shrimp roll and wonton soup. My table also ended up getting an extra dish for free since they brought it to the wrong table. This was a baked pork bun. This free item ended up being one of my favorites actualy as I thought it was even better than their bbq buns. My least fav was the chicken feet. They are a weird color, have an okay flavor but just weren't that good. I thought the rest of the items were just average dim sum. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't see myself returning anytime soon.

My wife absolutely loves their house special rice cake--it's a must-order appetizer for us every time we visit. We always end up ordering a bit more than we need, but that's part of the experience--everything tastes great, and the leftovers easily turn into additional meals later in the day. Tan Tan Wok consistently hits the spot with flavorful dishes and satisfying portions. It's a place we genuinely look forward to coming back to. On average, we spend around $85-$90 including tip, which is well worth it considering the amount of food and leftovers you get. Highly recommend if you're craving quality Chinese food and enough to feed family of 4 with plenty of leftovers.

It is anything but in point of fact, it is in my estimation, a unique culinary experience. I don't write from the perspective of comparing this food to other Malaysian dishes that I've had in point of fact to the best of my recollection I don't think that I've ever had Malaysian cuisine. But if this restaurant is an example, I have missed a great deal. The food is very unique the servings are very gracious charitable. The prices are incredibly reasonable given the distinction of this particular cuisine and given the portions and quality of food that is served. The service is quite simple and the restaurant is actually quite small. However, I must tell you from A service perspective. It's truthfully amazing because the takeout business is extremely active. Not to mention the fact that the chef walks out and speaks to people will share anything that you want to know about Malaysian food and obviously from the quality of the food that I ate not only is his explanation thorough but my guess is his skills are incredible. As I said it is very small so it's difficult to Alpine about the ambience other than it was quite clean and given the number of whom I suspect were Malaysian people it's obviously quite popular within that community. So I take that to be a sign that this food is quite native in nature. I had a pork meal, which is only on Sundays. I spoke to the chef about it, and he explained that the preparation started one day in advance of actually serving the meal, so I understand why it is only served once a week. Although I must tell you because I lack familiarity it seemed to me that I would be hours and hours trying to replicate any of the dishes. All I can tell you is this if you are in an exploratory mood for a cuisine and have had or have not had Malaysian before I suspect this is a place to go. Quite informal, extremely fair pricing very generous portions great service very pleasant people and frankly it's a a family affair of what you will see many when you go. Quite a lovely experience.

The Spicy Numbing Pot, while a little oily/greasy on the bottom, was still delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't knock your socks off spicy - it had a solid kick, and so flavorful.
