Dirty plates dirty plates dirty plates !!

I come here with my pregnant gf for the sushi which is the ONLY good thing here , and I mean the ONLY . Staff is horrendous, the plates are dirty , the food is stale , they say things in mandarin because they think you won't understand . They talk if you eat too much (mind you it's a Buffett) and try to add hidden fees like a "mandatory tip" which has NEVER been the case before and mind you I have tipped on multiple occasions but I refuse to be forced to "tip" . They are going under and bad , just avoid this place theirs 5 others in the area and much better in providence Rhode Island like supreme buffet .

The food was terrible. I did enjoy the sushi over any other dish. The bathroom smelled and was dirty and the doors entering into the restaurant also. The establishment needs a facelift . I would not recommend this restaurant to any one. Very disappointed with my experience.

I've tried Mindy's many times and appreciate their later than surrounding restaurants hours (why…read moreeverything closes so early in a college town/area will never make sense to me!) Their food is always delicious - we've loved the Nime Chow appetizer, sushi, and noodle dishes. One thing that makes me take a star off is the very strong cleaning product smell - we've only ever gone later at night so assumed it was like this in the last hour or two before they close, but perhaps it's all day long. It's so strong it starts to give me a headache, and an employee started mopping right near where I was eating which made the smell even worse (isn't that a big no no in general??) They really need to dilute their products per what I'm sure are the instructions on the bottle telling them to do so, or use something else. I feel awful for the employees having to work with it or be around it for extended periods. It seems most people do takeout here, so maybe they remember the strong cleaning smell and just take it to go. Sometimes the line to pick up takeout goes through the whole restaurant and puts me on edge if I'm trying to eat in the dining room. Service is typically pretty friendly and quick, but at least once I've been here when the dining room was slammed and only one server was working. She was crushing it, but it was still a ton of juggling and making people wait that wasn't great for the experience. I tried the Vegetarian Ramen today, having never tried their ramen before. No chopsticks were provided, so I used a fork and knife, which felt a little wrong. It was pretty good but a little lacking in flavor and seasoning to be honest. There was only one piece of tofu - it was a decent size, but similarly priced ramen with tofu at other restaurants always has more like 3 pieces, so that felt a little lacking. I was a little underwhelmed today but do typically enjoy their food.

I visited Asia One recently in the middle of some heavy rain, and on a Saturday afternoon to boot…read more Despite it being the weekend, it seems a lot of people were kept inside by the rain, as it was only myself and my two friends for lunch. We were seated immediately and presented with some fairly standard menus for Asian restaurants - basic hand rolls, fried rice, and things you'd expect to see on a take-away menu. Despite that, the full portions were pretty pricey, hence why we went for the lunch menu. The three of us split the three-roll lunch combo, with spicy tuna, spicy crab meat, and eel and avocado rolls. There are about 12 different options to choose from, and they're only about $4 each when you average out the $11.95 price tag. After that, I went in for the salmon hibachi, which comes with sauteed vegetables and fried or white rice. I got chicken fried rice, as well as a house salad and miso soup. The quality of the fish was a bit sub-par, but the portions were large. Overall, that was only $7, and it was more than enough with the rolls to fill me up for the rest of the day. I wouldn't say that the service was great, but it was acceptable. The waitress didn't always communicate clearly or understand what we were saying, but it was only a minor hiccup. I'll keep this place in mind for days when I want a beer and a nice Asian lunch, but I wouldn't use it as a dinner location.

The dishes are rich, occasionally greasy, but oh boy--are they packed with flavor! Curry, coconut milk, and spices play starring roles in most of the dishes. The fish soup? Absolutely delicious. It can be a gamble to try fish-based soup, but I trust how most Asians prepare it, so I went for it. No regrets! Here's what we enjoyed: Nanu Pork Dumpling: A sweet, scrumptious twist on a cooked sushi roll Mohinga: Fish-based soup with rice noodles, egg, cilantro, scallions, and fried split chickpeas (so delish!). Some awesome crispy appetizer (see pic) paired with hard-boiled eggs came as a side dish. The couple who own and run this spot are incredibly gracious, patiently walking us through what to expect from each dish. The wife is the head chef, and her passion shows in every bite. I believe they also do food truck events--I noticed their colorful van parked outside. This place is a must-try. Familiar yet different and oh-so-flavorful.

My friends and I are traveling…read moreand staying in an Air BNB and when we finished our work day we decided we were too lazy to go out or cook. Enter Umami Sushi & Poke Bowl. We found this spot on Uber eats but checked the Yelp reviews before ordering. Most celebrated the quality and freshness so we decided to order. There are so many different rolls available at great prices, but the love boat for two really caught our eye. One of our friends is vegetarian so they opted for a tofu skin maki and garden maki. They also offer a poke bowl with tofu, if you are looking to feed a vegetarian. I didn't realize this spot is located in Fall River, MA - but yet it still delivered to Providence which is wild to me. Lucky us! When it arrived, it was super fresh, beautifully arranged, and absolutely exactly what we were looking for. I would 100% recommend this place for takeout if you're in the delivery radius - the sushi is high quality and well priced. The Love Boat for two was 42 pieces - 10pcs sashimi, 8pcs sushi, California maki, spicy crunch tuna maki & Snow mountain maki or rainbow maki for $59 if you order for pick up and $72 for delivery. That is wild to me - essentially $1.40 a piece when the majority of the rolls if you include a rainbow maki have fresh, raw fish. So happy we discovered this spot for our cozy night in.

In a pinch this will do but it is barely a step up from supermarket sushi (gassed tuna for…read morestarters). I also will never understand why people would order anything fried for takeout. As soon as it goes into the container it's steamed and therefore ruined. But that's not the restaurant's problem.
