For what you're paying for and the speed at which you get your food, not at all a bad choice for Asian food in Mt. Vernon. The buffet doesn't have a phenomenal selection and the sushi can be questionable. Every item is either chicken or rarely seafood and pork but what they have is done reasonably well. About as well as you would expect for a buffet tucked away in the corner of a strip mall. The items can be between moderately soggy to super fresh. Depends on when you catch them out. Some odd things about this place is that they charge first and then you're allowed inside. read more

Most of the food was old and not fresh. Food was hard and dried out from sitting under the heat lamps. The waitress cleared our plates and re filled our drinks quickly and often she was great. Personally I won't be back. read more

Very good value. Food was well prepared and tasty. The hot sour soup, dumpling soup, and potstickers were all better than expected.

The food on the buffet was old and the noodles had hard pieces in them. The waitress was super good though at making sure our drinks were full which is a huge plus. With everything being so expensive, eating out shouldn't be something you regret. We definitely won't be returning. read more

Had a taste for Chinese food so we decided to try the Asian Buffet. I don't think there was anything that impressed me, not the dining room, not the staff, and certainly not the food. I tried several things from the buffet but I couldn't really distinguish between any of the various types of breaded meats. Everything tasted pretty much the same. When we wanted more hot tea (which was the best part of the meal) we had to locate a worker who was busy sweeping the floor. All in all, the food was mediocre and service worse. However, I will say that the dining room appeared to be pretty clean, even if the seats were worn out and should have been replaced long ago. read more

We eat there on a regular basis are always happy with the table service ,choices and quality of the food. The serving staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered out for the first time and had it delivered to our hotel. They got the Oder wrong took over an hour even tho the restaurant was 3 blocks away.The food was mismatch of over cooked and dry or undercooked. The egg rolls were doughy in the center. The saving grace was the Crab Rangoons. We will continue to go to the restaurant as inside customers but will never Ofer take out again. read more

BF a couple of years ago experienced exactly the same thing we did today - a Sunday... We went in about 4:15 or so... after the Sunday after-services surge, but before the evening Sunday-dinner-with-family surge. Much of the fare appeared to be left-overs from lunch... they may tout making things fresh everyday, but letting it sit over from lunch into the dinner meal crowd is NOT the way to make loyal fans. I tried the sweet and sour pork... soggy and lukewarm... not crispy or hot. I tried the General Tso chicken... likewise, soggy and lukewarm... not crispy and hot as expected. The fried shrimp was crunchy and lukewarm - bordering on tough and cold. The ingredients in the hot and sour soup tasted bland and also lukewarm... as though the soup had been sitting overnight - it may be made fresh daily, but they have a touch for making it taste older than its real age... (wink) Maybe that's an ancient Chinese secret... We looked at the sushi bar... nothing at the bar looked anything like the pictures of sushi plastered all over the front windows... not a single item. They present an excellent venue for a grand dining experience... but there are a few many of us who look past the flash and concentrate on the substance... Asian Buffet failed us miserably today... Normally this would be solid 4 star quality of food which in my my opinion it still is and also clean. The only reason I'm giving it 2 is the girl who is taking the place of the regular young lady that works the front when I asked for horseradish automatically said no they don't have it without even looking and her tone was not the nicest sorry to say. Definitely a nice place to come but if you want horseradish ready for your cocktail sauce come when the other young lady is back from vacation. If I had this type of service my first or second time I probably would not be back but I do recommend giving it a try. read more

Two stars only because the fries and ice cream were good. The food was very underwhelming and lacked any authentic flavor. Actually, it didn't have any flavor at all. There was virtually no service as our drinks were never refilled and plates were not cleared until we left. All of the sushi was just some imitation crab mixture and cucumber, not much of a variety. We ordered chow mein, because every where else we go chow mein is noodles, we get this weird soup thing with rice . We go there and they told us that, that is chow mein . They told us we were wrong to think that and that " they did nothing wrong" . They were very rude about the situation. Will not be going back there and don't recomend it for anyone else. read more

This place is awesome! My mom and I were on a road trip from Alabama to Colorado, and found ourselves starving in Mt. Vernon after a huge jam on the I-65. I found Asian Buffet on Google, and I'm so glad I did! Lisa (the owner) is very kind; my mom is vegetarian, and because there wasn't very much vegetarian food on the buffet, Lisa asked the chef to make vegetable lo mein and eggrolls especially for my mom! We ate so much we didn't need to stop again for dinner, and the price ($14 for both of us) was amazing. The food was all fresh and delicious, and there must have been at least 30 dishes to choose from, including sushi rolls. I couldn't stop eating the donuts. Do yourself a favor, skip the chain restaurants, and go to Asian Buffet! read more

Shockingly bad service. We ordered a large amount of food for a group of four to be delivered to our hotel just down the street. The woman on the phone told us it would be 45 minutes. However it was closer to 1.5 hours before our food arrived. When it got here, it was only half the order! We called back immediately and explained what we were missing. We were told it would be only 10 minutes. It ended up being over half an hour before the rest of our order arrived. I tried to cancel and request a partial refund for the part of the order we were missing and the woman on the phone refused. She kept offering all sorts of free food, but we didn't want any more food. We just wanted a refund for the part of order we were missing. She refused and actually hung up on me. Just like any Asian buffet food wise. I wish there was actual fried rice the fried rice is yellow... Not authentic Chinese food... The classics are awesome like crab Rangoon, pot stickers, and spring rolls but they changed my favorite sushi!! The fried sushi used to have a crunchy tempura in it or something now they put cheap crab mixture in every sushi option... Not impressed. where's the actual sashimi, and unagi? Honestly the sushi from Kroger is better. I am trying to compliment what I like about the place but it's a little hard. I just went there to get dinner with my fiancé. We usually get to go boxes on week nights hit the buffet and eat at home...the customer service here is atrocious.. these woman ignore you when you walk in while talking on the phone no greeting, nothing. I stopped here on a Google whim while passing through. The food is great! Everything was fresh and hot. The service was pleasant, they refilled our drinks often but they weren't annoying about it. Also they kept our plates picked up, I feel like that is sometimes a problem at buffet restaurants. All in all it was a great experience! Highly recommend giving it a chance! read more

I've been eating here for about a year now, we usually go during the day, never really at night. We decided to go tonight, drive over 40 minutes to eat here. Ive never once had a bad experience here, except for tonight. The food was all old, barely finished a full plate. I dropped my fork, went to get another one from the bar, I grabbed 4 dirty forks. Not just a little food spot on them, all of them were covered in food and pudding. I only seen the waitress one time, she never talked to us, other than to tell us "bye" when we left. Another girl was talking on her Bluetooth the entire time we were there. My girlfriend went to get food, she cut her off, stood in her way while she was trying to reach for food, and was laughing on the Bluetooth. She had to excuse herself 3 times before the girl realized she was saying anything. We will come back, just never again passed 3pm. Horrible experience. read more
