I was excited to go here since I was craving sushi big time. Probably not the best place to go to when feeling the urge for sushi! Here's my breakdown on this place: Atmosphere- Very big and very empty...There were like 50 tables and apart from us, there was only one other table occupied. There was also some teenager (maybe owner's son or relative?) sitting alone on a table emersed in his laptop. Food- We tried this appetizer platter (forgot the name). It was huge and came with all sort of things from chicken fingers, to shrimp tempura, to egg rolls. It was quite good. We also ordered an assortment of sushi & sashimi (along with a California roll). I've had a lot of very good sushi (esp in SF), so maybe my standards are too high, but wow, it was NOT good. I didn't like any of the sushi/sashimi. Perhaps the California rolls were mediocre at best. Service- Our server seemed very upset to see us when he first came to our table. No greeting, no smile, no friendly gesture. He was amazingly rude and seemed really angry for some reason. Not sure what's going on in his life, but please don't take it out on your customers! The service at this place was horrible. So, I am a big sushi fan who has been coddled by some really good sushi places while living in Boston and being in NYC. That said, Asian Breeze is the first sushi in NH that I have found that has some items I would put in that category (as long as you order right). The specialty rolls they offer are unique and very tasty. I wasn't too impressed with the standard rolls you can get but I rarely order those. Stick to things like the hooksette rolls, the old man in the mountain rolls and the red sox rolls (clearly those are their strong points and you can taste the difference) The the cuts served on the sashimi were very fresh though they may not have the top of the line flavoring that you can find at more expensive places. If you prefer sahimi though, you won't be disappointed by it. The menu is a combination of japanese and chinese cuisine and on top of the sushi, the other meals I have had here have been very good. The seaweed salad isn't the best I have had and the fried items are a little heavy on batter (not uncommon) but the egg rolls and teriakki were really good and steam spring rolls are excellent. The atmosphere is pretty typical for a chinese restaurant though there is a decent bar (I would stick with beer or wine however as the mixed drinks are kind of train wrecks unless you are just looking to get drunk off scorpion bowls). read more

We came here for take out for the first time on NYE on a last-minute change of plans from a recommendation of my best friend. We were both glad we did. The staff were great and our order was packaged correct without any missing parts! We got a Pu Pu platter for two and an order of the Love Potion #9 sushi roll. The sushi was fantastic and the quality of foods on platter were above average to excellent. Lean boneless ribs, tempura batter on shrimp and fingers were delicious. Only disappointment with the Pu was the portion size, there were only 2 of each item, so if 2 people are eating you only get one of each item. If in the Hooksett area I would return, otherwise, I would go to Yuki or Thousand Krane because they are closer. I've been to this place several times with my colleagues and we always go in large group. Every time we were sat immediately and served promptly. Our food and drink came very quickly and service was always friendly. Huge plus for large groups. About their food: Old man on the mountain(sushi) is huge and so delicious. We kinda shared food and everyone loved it. Seaweed salad was also in large portion and tasted delicious. The other sushi we tried are generally good and fresh made. The Chinese food we have tried there was not as good as sushi. The chili fish, which was highly recommended by some friend, was fried. OMG. Fried fish. I was not happy about that. And several of other dishes we ordered were also made in some weird ways. I probably will go back but stick to sushi next time. They were Yummy. read more

1st impression... besides some wall decor, there's not a whole lot of Asia happening here... I even noticed Kid Rock playing in the background. The menu is lengthy, but it covers a Chinese AND Japanese options at fair pricing. The atmosphere was forgotten when the food arrived quickly, hot and fresh. We ordered a Poo poo platter. I loved everything on the plate (served on a bed of lettuce, which caught me off guard). For Chinese food, I felt like everything was uniquely "home made" by far in comparison to their competitors. Mmmm. Hot pot on a cold day... My husband and I like to go here for the hot pots. Chicken, beef, pork, we like them all. Mild, spicy (depending on the kitchen, the spicy can be more or less sinus clearing), with all the yummies (mushrooms, spinach, tofu, fish cakes and balls, udon etc) cooked in there. They have lamb on the menu, although we've yet to be able to order it. I don't know if we're just there too late, or if it's only a sometimes item, but we'll keep trying. The sushi here is fantastic. The rolls, the a la carte, it's well done, quality sushi. The fish is fresh and well picked. The waitstaff has always been incredibly polite and very helpful. This is important when you're approaching something new, like cooking your own hot pot. And we always leave room for the ginger ice cream! read more

This is a fantastic family owned restaurant. I have eaten here and the food is great. This review is in regards to their lounge. If you love to dance in a place that let's you be yourself, dance to express not impress, then you want to come here. The DJ on Friday night is so good and plays such a range of music for all types of people from Classic rock, 80's and 90's, hip hop, pop, house and latin pop which you can meringue and salsa to. There's no cover charge and the people are very nice and respectful. It's a 35 and older crowd mostly and no creepy old men. I know there's a band and dancing on Saturday nights as well. No cover charge. No one will ignore your requests for water and sodas but please appreciate their hospitality and tip well! read more

This restaurant does not use MSG - I can tell afterwards - and so very healthy yet delicious! Wanting Chinese rather than sushi or Japanese , I found the selections rather limited causing me to think that doing all the Asian choices is a bit ambitious for them, so they limit their choices. I think I will stick to a straight Chinese restaurant the next time I want Chinese food. The Peking dumplings as an appetizer were very gummy and the pork inside was flavorless. There was something not quite right about the special fried rice...very little extra things in it and rather on the hard side. The pineapple shrimp saved the meal as it was very light and flavorful. I thought I'd give this place a try because I heard they served hot pots, which is pretty hard to find around here. I am always looking for a place that reminded me of home, and I had high hopes for this place. When I arrived, there were actual real Asians in this place. Like, speaking Mandarin loudly and giggling and it just reminded me of being back home in Chinatown. I was really hoping that because they ate here also, it would be a good sign. The waiter reminded me of my dad when he was angry. He was not pleasant at all, and made me feel like I was a little girl again and had just gotten in trouble. It brought back bad memories. His words were chopped angry and short. I hesitantly asked if they had hot pot because I didn't see it on the menu but I saw that they had a display of it at the front of the restaurant. He practically yelled at me, saying that they didn't do it outside in the summer and that the kitchen would cook it, to which, I understood exactly what he meant, but he felt the urge to reiterate it 3 more times, for some reason. I wasn't looking for the experience of cooking the hot pot myself, I just wanted to eat it. After some grumbling, and a couple more reiterations, he gave me the menu. Like it was something super secret and super special, and not like they had it advertised everywhere. Do I not look Asian enough? Did I have to speak to him in Mandarin to get the proper treatment? I was displeased. Anyway. I tried the shredded chicken with peanut sauce as an appetizer. It sounded good on paper, only to be absolutely disappointed by the Jif-like, slightly watered-down peanut butter sauce. The soy-ish sauce they had underneath was good, as was the chicken. But the peanut sauce was ever-so-disappointing that it practically ruined the dish. Then, I tried the rice noodles with beef. It was not bad, but not great. When I order rice noodles, I really want those thick rice noodles. Not the thin vermicelli type, but that's what I got. It wasn't bad. Finally, the waiter came back with the beef hot pot. It was filled with tofu and Chinese vegetables, mushrooms, and thin slices of beef. The broth was hot and flavorful. The dipping sauce that came with it reminded me of my parents' cooking. It was really great, actually. I practically ate the whole thing by myself. I stuffed myself with the closest thing to home-cooking here. The hot pots really aren't hat bad and I may come back and suffer through the abuse to try it again. Maybe in the winter, when they actually set up the stove and hot pot and I can cook the things myself. But this is definitely not a place I would come on a regular basis because the terrible service has discouraged me from coming back and being a regular. Asian Breeze, you could have had 4-stars, but the service was so horrendous, I had to break my own personal record and dock two stars from your rating. Luckily, the hot pot bumped it up one star. I went back here last night since my in-laws were over and they wanted to go out for Chinese food. This is the only (from what I know) sit-down place in Hooksett. Every other place is take-out. Started off a little slow with having to go ask for a waiter for our party of 8 (after waiting for about 10 minutes with no one coming over). We gave our drink and food order at the same time. Drinks came out quick and food came out about 10 minutes later. We had some sushi, beef lo-mein, pork fried rice, egg foo young, seafood with udon noodles, and general tso's chicken. We had to ask Don, the bartender, for a glass of orange juice and his response of "lightweights, sheesh!" spoke volumes about the type of clientele Asian Breeze is obviously geared towards. The food we were served was at best, lackluster(sorry, but if we'd wanted fried chicken wings, we'd have gone to the KFC across the street!). I was completely disappointed in the quality of the Japanese food at this restaurant. I should have payed attention to the warning signs. I should have known not to order Sashimi at a restaurant that also serves Chinese and Thai food. The second warning sign was that the waitress did not know what "chirashi" was. The third warning sign was that they were out of "yellowtail", when I ordered the spicy yellowtail roll. It is a good thing that I didn't ask for "hamachi". Of course when my sashimi lunch arrived, there was yellowtail in it, as well as in both of my lunch mates chirashi also contained yellowtail. On to the quality of the food. Everything that was supposed to be hot was lukewarm, including the green tea and the miso soup. The fish tasted like it was last year's fish. I could not even eat my spicy tuna roll. I would not recommend this place for Japanese food. I cannot comment on the Chinese or Thai offerings. I gave it two stars instead on one because I felt bad giving them only one. read more

I am a big sushi fan, and this restaurant has the best sushi I have ever had. You can choose from two menus - the special menu has authentic asian fusion cuisine and special sushi rolls, the regular menu has the more typical chinese food fare. I have become a regular at this restaurant since it opened as I have always had wonderful experiences with the food and service. I often bring out of town friends and family there, and they love it, and will ask to go there when they visit again. This restaurant is kept impeccably clean - I am a regular and I think what the other reviewer witnessed was not characteristic of what is normal for this restaurant. It really is spotless and I have never witnessed anything like what he writes about. The service is always friendly and excellent (and I am a former silver-service waitress). read more
