Don't order thru DoorDash, the price was upped by $3.00. Didn't receive enough rice with my Mongolian beef. Mongolian beef was sweet, not at all spicy, no spices offered either and it had too much oil in it. Go to another Chinese place if possible. read more

Whenever you are on the road, your expectations are pretty low for food. So when I ordered from Asian Bowl Express I didn't expect much. It didn't help that when I went inside, there were boxes in the corner and cleaning supplies on the side. The place which seems to be a recycled Taco Bell didn't look very inviting. There was a lady on the phone and a gentlemen and that's pretty much it. He motioned me to wait. A minute or so later he asked how he can help which I said I was there for a pick up. How asked if it was the pineapple chicken and I said no. He went back and went through some bags and came with my order. Noe fast forward to eating : food is delicious. The Tonkotsu Ramen 10/10, the pork is 10/10, the crab Rangoon 8/10 ( not a lot of crab), Sauces 10/10, cucumber salad 10/10, orange chicken 9/10 (a bit too sweet) Point is : eat here and you will be pleasantly surprised. Thanks to Yelper reviews that led me to this surprising gem in Rantoul. I'm working in Rantoul this week, and when I drove into town yesterday all I could see were the usual fast food restaurants. Sigh. But when I checked Yelp I found five star reviews for Asian Bowl Express, and I knew I had to try it. An enthusiastic five stars all around! Five star service, five stars for the food quality, five stars for the extensive menu. I ordered General Tso's tofu and spring rolls, both were delicious. I have had General Tso's at many different restaurants, often it is far too sweet. This was perfect, and a very generous serving too. Truly enough for two meals or for two people to share. The employee was very friendly and helpful, she answered my questions and made a recommendation that was perfect. Just what I was looking for. The interior has some beautiful plants. I ordered my food to go but enjoyed looking at the plants while I waited. Prices are EXTREMELY reasonable. Also, there is a drive thru. You can call to place your order and pick up in the drive thru if you want. This place doesn't look much from the outside, but what matters is the food and service, both of which are truly outstanding. You won't be disappointed! read more

This hidden gem is serving excellent food with a smile and warm welcome. The food is as good as any Asian restaurant with quite a choice. I have eaten several of their dishes and they are always great. The miso soup is top quality and a quiet little side item you need to add to your order is Sesame Balls. This is an interesting place. The menu is extremely large and we have only tried it a few times, sticking mostly to Egg rolls and dumplings, Fried rice and once or twice some familiar Chinese dishes. The food is pretty good, with the exception of the fried rice, which is so bland, we tried chicken, and shrimp and both had very little flavor until we added our own soy sauce. I wish they had really good sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard for the egg rolls--nothing even close. The Asian Bowl Express does have online ordering and we use it for pick up. I find it funny that they ask for a tip when you are picking up your order?? Far better than the other Asian option in town. read more

Honestly this place is extremely surprising! It's in a broke down old taco bell parking lot with weeds growing through the concrete, as soon as we walked through the door we were met by a girl who was probably not older than 7, Everyone was so friendly, we watched an older lady make our delicious crab Rangoons. We also ordered hot and sour soup which came in an extremely generous portion with more than enough for all 3 of us, it was also extremely spicy, but we do enjoy that. for our entrees we got poke bowl which were amazing, we got shrimp and chicken which were portioned good, not generous but enough. This place is very unassuming as it use to be a taco bell. it's not decorated nice and dosent really look delightful but please DONT LET THE LOOK DECIVE YOU. read more

I love this restaurant I hadn't thought to try it until recently. But the food is always hot and delicious. Every time I have come and the service is quick. I haven't been inside yet just through the drive-through for pick up but I definitely love it. I don't have a large appetite myself, so if you're like me, I highly recommend getting a kids meal, which is more than enough food for me the honey glaze chicken or the honey glaze shrimp on the kids menu is to die for, and it comes with rice and salad. The lady who works there is always so kind and always has a smile on her face, and the prices are affordable. Even if the prices were more than other restaurants, I would still choose to go here, simply because of the kindness and the food quality. It is definitely worth a try. read more

Ate there twice and it is delicious! The menu items are very popular where im from (hawaii) and i am always skeptical but i was pleasantly surprised. The poke bowls should definitely have more fish i stead of all the other stiff but it was tasty. I also tried their takoyaki which was spot on and the chicken katsu don. Again, in Hawaii chicken katsu os the main with rice and mac salad for the sides. Here its mixed in a bowl. Overall theu were friendly and their food was good. read more

While visiting my brother and his wife in Rantoul I had the good fortune to try this restaurant. Housed in an old fast food restaurant you may not know that this place has excellent Asian inspired food. We had Chinese food and it was delicious, nice portion size and affordable. I live in the Chicagoland area with many restaurants to choose from for pan Asian or Chinese food and this place rivals the best of them. This restaurant is a little gem we discovered on the day of Thanksgiving. On our way to Chicago, we took an exit in Rantoul for late lunch. All the fast food restaurants were closed. So we gave Asian Bowl a try. My kids ordered bento box, and adults ordered veggie garlic and ramen soup. Everyone loved the food. Portion size was good and I had the best Ramen soup and miso soup in the last ten years. The last equivalent quality Ramen soup I had was in Hawaii. Today we drove from Champaign to order food again and it was equally good. My two recommendations for improvement are---1) not use the same utensil to cook food with eggs and one without it. Flavors transfer from one cooking pot to another and this could adversely affect some food's flavor. 2) Add green onions or some other ingredient that is shown in the picture to soup. When you show something in a picture but don't add it, it is wrong advertising. read more

Bad!! Very Bla no flavor! The fried rice has no flavor at all it is almost white like they didn't even add flavor just put in some veggies and meat. The won ton soup and house soup no flavor. Yellow ducky had great soup broth nice and dark with flavor. The beef is very chewy also. The sauces on the dishes is very watery not thickened. We have tried different dishes now three times at Asian Bowl so we gave it an honest try. Not going back. read more
