I love this restaurant! It's one of the few places that has a nice enough atmosphere and privacy that you can actually have a conversation with your group. Our waitstaff always seem super busy, but friendly and attentive and I like that multiple people check on you throughout your meal refilling waters, getting extra peanut sauce (yum!) and bring you plenty of boxes when you're just too stuffed! And the food is fabulous. We always go for awesome happy hour drink and food specials. Our favorite dish has to be the Pad Thai, but honestly everything there is good. GOOD, NOT GREAT. I reaaaallly wanted to love this place--I really did. But the price for what you get here is just not worth 5-star love. I ordered two dishes and a Thai Iced Tea and it was $40 (yikes!!!!). I ordered their Pad Thai with tofu and felt like it just lacked flavor. It looked amazing and was perfectly moist, but it simply lacked flavor. Luckily, I ordered their Mongolian Beef which, by the way, they marinate, bread the beef themselves, and cook, was pretty darn good. It was a little on the salty side so, mixed with the bland Pad Thai, it balanced out. Even their Thai Tea was a little on the weak-flavored and too-creamy side. The ambiance is pretty legit here and it's probably what kept it at a 4-star review rather than a 3-star one. It's perfect for a date, you could step up to the bar area for a super casual vibe, or you can come here with the fam. The wait staff are totally friendly here and while I didn't love my first experience with the food here, I would totally come here again with friends to try other dishes out. Overall, the food was meh. The ambiance and service was nice. I would come here again with mid standards and hope to be surprised. I have always loved this restaurant. But was absolutely floored at the price and the proportion received. Literally everywhere else in Skagit gives you twice as much yellow curry and they charge the same, or less. Taste of Thai, Thai house, bamboo bistro, even the places in Anacortes, all give a large plastic container- ranging from $12-$16.95 for TWICE the amount. I paid $16.95 for the smallest portion. Also, I ordered the avocado roll, which was literally just avocado a tiny bit of rice and seaweed and the rolls were mini size (half the size of the cali roll my husband got) for nine dollars- I got like the smallest portion ever. After it was all said and done- we spent about $70. I vowed I will not be going back for dinner due to these Prices and portions, sadly! read more

This is my second dining experience at the Asian 1 in Burlington. I forgot to write a review my first time, so I decided to visit again and rectify my "grievous error" On my first visit I had my favorite Thai dish, which also happens to be this locations most popular, Pineapple Fried Rice. I always order chicken as my protein element. The Pineapple Fried Rice was very tasty. I was definitely NOT disappointed This time I decided to try something different and went with one of my favorite Japanese dishes, Yakisoba. I spent 18 months in Japan and ate a lot of Yakisoba. Asian 1 prepares this dish a bit different from what I remember from my time in Japan. The restaurants in Japan typically prepare their yakisoba in a wok and that imparts a frying element to the dish. Also there is teriyaki in the Japanese version. I have no idea how Asian 1 prepares their yakisoba, but I did not detect any teriyaki and I didn't get a fried taste. Having said that, I still liked Asian 1's version of yakisoba. It was very delicious and they even asked if I wanted it to be spicy. I LOVE spicy foods, so I immediately asked for my teriyaki to be "Thai hot" . I was very happy with the resulting dish and was surprised that it came with my choice of white rice or brown, a leafy salad with peanut sauce dressing, and the Soup du jour (today it was egg drop soup). All of that for just $13.15 (drinks are extra). If you are a fan of Asian cuisine you should definitely check out Asian 1. read more

The sign says "healthy" food. It may well be. I ordered Chicken Lettuce Wraps to start. They were the worst lettuce wraps I've ever eaten. The chicken filling was dry beyond belief with not much taste. The lettuce was very nice, crisp and nice little cup shapes. The sauce was pretty good too but that doesn't overcome the tasteless, dry chicken. For a main course I ordered Mongolian Beef which was good. Crispy beef, nice onions and peppers and a good sauce too. Expensive though at $16.50. The wife ordered Chicken Pad Thai, which she enjoyed. She said it might be the best she's ever eaten. We brought home small containers of leftovers. I also ordered some Pineapple Fried Rice which had a strange curry flavor. The chicken pieces tasted like they had been reheated, having an off-putting taste. It did have a few nice sized shrimp and some big chunks of pineapple too. We ate very little of the dish and because we didn't enjoy it, we didn't bring home leftovers. But, here's the thing, it was an expensive meal for Asian food. We had one appetizer and basically three entrees since we had to order the fried rice seeing as neither entree we ordered came with anything else. No rice was offered which is not customary anywhere else I've eaten Thai food. The bill totaled Pennie's shy of $60 for the two,of us. No drinks and only one appetizer. Even post Covid that's too high for the quality of food we received. I doubt I'll come back. read more

We were so pleasantly surprised by this place! We were in the mood for "Asian food... but HEALTHY Asian, not greasy Asian." When we walked in, I exclaimed "wow!" out loud! It was much nicer than I expected. The lighting was charming, warm, and intimate, but it wasn't sun and dingy, because there were huge windows letting in lots of daylight. The FOOD was even better! They can make just about anything on the menu gluten free. I got the fried rice, and it was satiating, but it didn't feel heavy and deep fried in the mouth. Light and savory and perfectly filling. If I could give this place a 0 I would. I'd like to share an experience I had with this restaurant. I ordered food for pickup at 430 pm and was told it would be 30-45 minutes. My husband walked in at 5:15 pm and was told it would be at least another half hour with reason being that another order had come in. We were never informed about this even though they had our number to show respect/courtesy for our business. At this point as we had to get home my husband asked if this could be delivered to which we were informed this wasn't possible and we would have to redo the order online which would take at least another 45-60 minutes to arrive. We immediately cancelled this order. This place has no respect for its customers and makes me wonder how many other patrons have been dealing with this. There was never any apologies made nor consolation for delaying our order. Thankfully there are plenty of other sushi places around here so we will give our business elsewhere. Great prices. Wonderful, flavorful food. I always get the Tom Kha, it's the best I've ever had. Their spice levels are off, even the spiciest level I can hardly taste, but I just ask for the "spice rack" and they give you a tray of chili sambal and ground red pepper which really makes it. Sugar. Everything tastes like sugar. Vegetable soup, is sweet soup with mushy carrots. Pad Thai noodles, had maybe 3-4 noodles and just a thick sugar sauce with vegetables, paid extra for chicken just to have maybe 3-4 little pieces. Salad, warm salad mind you, and a think peanut dressing and was just sugar. This whole place is so bizarre. The name says Healthy asian food, but everything is also drenched in sugar. Do not recommend if your from California or anywhere that has good food. I know it sucks out here with slim options but yuck. Only good thing from the 2 times we've been here was crab fried rice, but guess what? Sugar. Even the fried rice was sweet. So as we're driving home I feel like I have to vomit from eating sugar for lunch. Miserable. Like I can feel my body hating this and it's trying to process it. Pretty good place here for Thai. Great atmosphere, service was slightly off due to less attention given and not asking about our utensils needs. Maybe 5 small kids (eating with another family) made server think we'd be stingy with tip. While less than was the hype had been about the taste of the food, it was still good and deserving of another chance. One of the dishes had too much of a bunt taste even though it didn't look burnt. This seems to be a popular place in this area and I don't know why when there are so many better options. I think they try and advertise themselves as the "healthy" option but it's bland and the dishes don't taste right. My boyfriend got the orange chicken and the sauce it came in tasted like tomato paste with some orange slices in it. I got the pad Thai and it was lackluster and the noodles were mushy and over cooked. Service wasn't the greatest. There was one really good server doing all of the work, one girl taking phone orders and hosting and another guy who didn't seem to be useful at all - he walked by our table like 3-4 while we needed refills and didn't even look our way. Found this place because of the close proximity to the mall. We ordered some Egg Rolls (Veggie - Spring Rolls) and I got a Yakisoba with Beef. Super good. Also had the Evergreen roll (asparagus, cucumber, avocado). Pretty good. But I have only had this roll elsewhere with fried asparagus. Still good though. My husband had this sweet chicken, broccoli, cashews, coconut milk dish. Neither of us remember the name of it. Good. But too sweet for him (or the friend we were with - who ordered the same dish) to finish it. All in all, service was great and the food was what was advertised. Four stars for the small Egg Rolls (which only appeared to have lettuce in them) and the super sweet can't-put-my-finger-on-what-that-taste-reminds-me-of-chicken. read more

Where do I even start? Took my girlfriend out for date night thinking this place would be great because of the yelp reviews, showed up to an empty Resturant and the place smells. We ordered Mongolian beef and pad Thai both were awful, no spice like we asked for... Couldn't quite figure out what kind of meat the "Mongolian beef" was.
