I had my alternator replaced today (rebuilt). The price was competitive and completed in 2 hrs. Ugen was pleasant to deal with. He offered to install the battery free if I wanted to have it replaced as well. He suggested that I buy one from Costco. He was not pushing to sell his own product. The rebuilt alternator has a standard one year warranty. Understandably, the replacement parts brushes, voltage regulator etc.. are not Honda parts he explained. Rather, they are aftermarket. I went in with an old starter looking for a plunger and 2 small copper pieces. The guy who helped me kindly told me i didnt need a new plunger and that hed just clean it off, saved me 20 to 30 bucks. He then helped explain to me how i would need to take apart the starter and rebuild it. He even offered to help show me how to fix it if i had any trouble with it. Id give 6 stars if i could, these guys arent out to screw you like so many other people in their field and I really appreciated his honesty. Just as advertised in the other reviews: - friendly on the phone and in person - tested my charging system (at no cost!) and found nothing wrong with it. Just needed a new battery. I brought an old marine winch to this small shop on Broadway by someone's recommendation. He was able to fix it and give me great advice. Then I brought him a super complicated 24 volt Landcruiser problem (someone had wired up a very complicated alternator/24/12 volt system) and he was nothing but helpful. He came out and looked at my cruiser and gave me lots of free advice and I was able to fix the problem myself. He is genuinely helpful! This guy is very very good with alternators and motors and has the home town small shop friendly attitude I miss. You go into the shop and he has dozens of alternators and starter and he fixes things for a good price and is generous with his advice and trouble shooting. Good shop - friendly, quick work at a great price. I was having starting problems and I was pretty sure it was my starter going. Ashnat tested my battery and listened to the starter to confirm the problem. They were able remove/rebuild/replace of my starter for a great price - the price quoted was good, and he charged me less since the labor was less than estimated! My alternator packed it in the other day. Being handy with wrench, I decided to look for an alternator and was planning to spend a couple hours replacing it. Called around and found that the average price was $195.00 (for a rebuilt) plus the 2~3 hours it was going to take me to swap it out. This also doesn't factor in the amount of time to get the replacement part, get it home, swap it out THEN take back the core for the refund. I called up ASHNAT STARTERS & ALTERNATORS and was quoted $140 for the alternator. I was sold. I was then asked if I wanted them to install it for me. I was interested. I was given the quote and I said "When can I bring in my car?" The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. I dropped off my car and a couple hours later, it was ready. This was about as smooth of a service call as anyone could ask for. The other day, a friend asked me to listen to a noise in her car. IT sounded like a bad bearing on her alternator. I gave her ASHNAT's address and said "I had a good experience, I think you will too". So she called, made an appointment and went in. I heard from her last evening and she thanked me for suggesting ASHNAT. She said that the owner was very nice and treated her well. The swapped out the alternator and the noise is now gone and he car is running well! Within a week, I've already recommended ASHNAT. If you have alternator problems, give ASHNAT a call. read more

I have been there for replacement of alternators on 3 cars now and I find them to be very knowledgeable and very honest. I cannot recommend them too highly. I m pretty sure that when other shops "send out" for alternators to be re-built - this is likely where they send them, and then mark up their work. read more

small shop as said before but efficient and about 1/2 the cost of getting repairs done at a dealer.. work guaranteed and just had a electrical check and a 11/2 battery charge all for NO CHARGE. i would not hesitate to go there or tell my friends to go there.. someone you can trust for sure. read more
