A Company not Comply their Quote, A Company with wrong Quote and Blame you -the Customer I want to share my terrible experience with Regency Toyota Vancouver Parts & Service and some Regency Toyota Vancouver(I will just use RTV later in this post) General manager's response. I want everyone here to judge by your common sense who is right and who is wrong. Background: I have a 2020 Toyota Prius Prime. My car had a small accident two years ago. It was fixed. This year I find AC not working. As I very seldom use AC . So I was not sure it was because the accident or something else. Before I visited RTV, I ever visited another company and waited about 15 minutes. Then they told me that they need to check parts price. I got a free quote one week late. Because it's pricy so I wanted to get another quote from RTV to compare price while I do other regular maintenance. RTV's experience On July 22,2025 I paid $170 plus tax for inspection. And they give me a quote (total $2041.22)to fix the AC issue. I was very happy when I saw RTV's quote. I thought they were a lot cheaper probably because they are specialized Toyota dealer. However I was deadly wrong. It was not a cheap price. It was actually a cheating price. After I received RTV's call that they got the parts. I sent my car to them to fix my AC on July 27, 2025. My bad experience started here. RTV supposed to comply the contract to fix my AC for $2041.22 that day. However they fix nothing to my car that day. Instead they sent me a new quote for $11777.03 and a new invoice $209.45 to pay. So at that time I knew: 1. I paid inspection fee and got a wrong quote which a responsible company would not make that mistake. 2. RTV refused to abide the original quote which an honest company would not do that. 3. One thing makes me mad. They did nothing fixing to my car on my second visit and a new invoice $209.45 to pay when I pick up my car that day. A. It's RTV's responsibility to give me a correct quote. On my first visit, I requested that they arrange a lot experienced technician to do the inspection, but they told me that they had difficult to arrange that. It's ridiculous that RTV blamed me for their mistakes. I didn't prevent you to do fully inspection;I didn't prevent you to remove bumper to check if you needed to do so even-if some other companies' technicians no need;I didn't give you any wrong information or try to hide anything. When I tried to tell something about my car, the service person used gesture to stop me and told me their technician can check everything. So my conclusion is that the problem from RTV's unqualified technicians. B. Yes, your technician spent some time at my car on my second visit. However please remember I was supposed to spend $2041.22 for you to fix my AC. You refused to comply with our contract; You fixed nothing for my car; You wasted my time; You had no apology. You guys should be happy if you just let me leave without forcing me to pay extra. However your smart front desk manager forced me to pay $209.45. Who can accept? If you spend time providing your customers with wrong quote, if you refuse to comply the contract with you customers which an honest company would not do that, if you charge your customers for doing nothing fix, it's a really an unacceptable service to your customers. So basically I paid total over $400 and got a wrong quote and nothing fixed. This is a terrible Toyota Vancouver parts and service location. People should stay away from them because: A. The company technicians didn't know their job. I paid money, but they provided me with improper diagnostic and wrong quotes. They requested their customers to pay their wrong doings and mistakes. 2. This is a dishonest company that refuses to honor their quote. I paid and got a quote, but they refused to execute and fix my AC. 3. The front desk manager is a fighting rude man. It is totally all their fault. They wasted my time and money. The guy should be with big smile as I did not ask for their compensation. He didn't had any apology to me. Instead he asked me to pay their mistake. Is that super crazy? I complained Regency Toyota Vancouver (RTV)at BBB Currently. I saw their response. This company people including their general manager are telling details about what they did to my car. Hey, dear general manager, I must tell you the truth:I don't care how many hours you spend and what you do to my car. But I do care your work results. I spent time and money. I want to see a correct quote. I want to see my quote get fulfilled. Here is what I get from you: first visit wrong quote with my time and $209.45 , nothing fixed on my second visit with my time and $209.45.The general manager threatened to take legal action as I used unqualified technicians etc. As a general manager, you should focus on how to improve your customer service. If you focus on how to take legal action to shut off your customers' mouth, that is a terrible wrong direction. read more

My 2004 Matrix would not start. After confirming myself that the starter and battery were fine I reached out to Regency Toyota for help with diagnostics beyond my skillset. Charles Kim in Service was able to find me an open slot the day I called so I had the car towed by Buster and it was on the hoist within a few hrs. Charles called me with an update saying the mechanics narrowed it down to a badly corroded wiring harness that needed replacement and gave me a cost rundown for approval. The car was good to go inside of an hour and there was no extra pressure to carry out other work even though it was overdue for an oil change. Been a customer for 15 years. It means nothing to Regency Toyota. Had an issue with being charged an extra $160 on top of the $250 for their premium inspection. Management wrre unable to accept any culpability and clearly do not care about customer loyalty. Will not be returning. They do not know how to look after customers. read more

Got a quote at service for $143 for a transmission drain and fill (I called them 2 weeks in advance, told them the model, trim, drivetrain, etc). If I recall correctly, dealerships HAVE to be WITHIN 10% of the quote they have given the customer (they did not do this, instead they doubled the price and some more). Upon arrival, Jeff told me that he cannot perform a "drain and fill" on my vehicle and started to pressure me into getting a "pressurized flush". My original quote was $143, it has now turned into $350 + bottle deposits + tax. He stated "I will not do a drain and fill for you and even if I did, I wouldn't warranty any of the work we did to that transmission". Edit: forgot to add Jeff tried scaring me but saying that other Toyota dealerships won't do it properly and that it should be done by them.. outrageous am I right? Edit**: I'm pretty sure he did this on purpose as he had a "high-end" customer walk-in.. to shoo me away.. either way, would never come back to this dealership. Do NOT come here. Permanent 1 star. Pretty subpar service compared to the rest of the lower mainland. Just for reference, I called three, not one, but three Toyota dealerships after I left and they ALL quoted me $143 + tax for the same service vs the $350 + "bottle deposits" and tax. Even though my 11 year old Prius needed some care and attention, the team stepped up and made the process effortless and helped me feel supported and taken care of. NOT HAPPY. Took my wife's Prius here after reading all the good reviews on Google. Nothing special, just a regular check up and seasonal tire swap for $128. We took the car there on a Saturday and was told it would be ready within the hour. So we sit in the lounge - an hour passes and oh, guess what. We can't do it in the hour. You'll have to pick it up another day. You also can't pick up your car on Sunday, because we are closed. But you can pick it up on a Monday afternoon - you know, the day you are at work and have no access to a vehicle. Fine, whatever. BUT THEN, my wife picks it up on Monday and comes back to me with... a $800+ bill??? I thought these guys would be better than all the other predatory service stores out there - you know the ones that prey on helpless females and bumbling idiots to sell you every upcharge under the sun? My wife doesn't know anything about cars and defers to me, so I distinctly remember giving the service manager my phone number to reach out to in case there were any problems. BUT SURE ENOUGH they accost my wife while she is busy at work so that she will give them carte blanche to do whatever "servicing" they want. Inverter coolant and super long life inverter coolant changed at least 10,000km ahead of schedule. Perfectly fine cabin and air filters swapped out (I swapped these out personally a year ago). Overall just aggressive AGGRESSIVE servicing. These are not LONG OVERDUE items like they would like you believe. A good, honest service shop would be upfront to you about these charges and give you time to make a decision, because it's not like this is just a couple of bucks here and there. They would FOLLOW the recommended service schedule instead of aggressively servicing well in advance. That's how you get REPEAT customers, instead of making a customer go WTF and swearing to never come back. The only reason this isn't completely 1 star is because at the VERY LEAST it is a Toyota facility, so at least I can (hopefully) trust the work and that they've used Toyota genuine parts. Honestly, the thing that really riles me up is that I am a Toyota Canada employee and I managed to get swindled by the servicing department for MY OWN EMPLOYER. Unbelievable. read more

My poor little Toyota Matrix (named Neo) punctured a tire last week. Luckily I have Toyota Roadside Assistance who came and fixed me up with my spare tire, but I still had to get little Neo on the road again. I called Regency Toyota's Service Centre to arrange an appointment to come in. The receptionist told me they were booked solid but to try to come in before 9 on Friday morning and they'd try to fit me in - at least I could drop off the tire for repair. The service centre is a drive-through. You drive your car right inside and walk inside to drop off the keys with a customer service agent. My agent was Jose Tai and he was extremely friendly. He said he was not only able to fit me in for a look at the tire, they'd do my 5000 KM oil change while they were at it if I could wait. So I did! There is a very comfortable lounge upstairs for waiting, with a coffee machine and newspapers. It's very new and clean. I was able to set up my laptop and do some work, so the morning wasn't completely a write-off. After 90 minutes, Jose told me they had done my oil change, but they couldn't fix my tire and that they would need until the afternoon to order a new tire. I was kind of annoyed they couldn't tell me that at the BEGINNING, so I could jaunt off to the office, rather than me waiting 90 minutes, but that is really my only complaint (and perhaps I shouldn't complain since he DID fit me in between customers, without an appointment, on the Friday before the long weekend). Jose got me in a taxi to work right away, and called a taxi for me in the afternoon to bring me back to pick up my car with its brand spanking new tires. He even made sure I got some free promo items (a cooler and a water bottle) before he sent me on my way. Neo and I drove away very happy customers. read more

Had an appointment booked for 9:15 last Saturday to get my Tundra fixed. As I arrived at 9am I got a call from the service department and they told me they couldn't get the parts to fix it. I told Vincent I was already there just pulling in. I went in and he told me I could try for Wednesday. I told him I can also take it somewhere else. Can't believe they waited until 15 minutes before my appointment to call me. Glad I'm going to another shop. I will not be going back there. read more

I was under the impression my Matrix was still under warranty, so opted to take it to the toyota service centre instead of another mechanic for the routine service and oil change. They phoned me a few hours after I had dropped off the vehicle and informed in the Timing Belt needed to be replaced, and quotes me about $1900 (oil change, drive belt, and timing belt replacement) Toyota Matrix do not have a timing belt. They have a timing chain, which lasts the life of the car. I learned this later and had to call and ask them to stop the work. The work history print out they gave me said "timing chain cover leaking" which is a different, and far more minor problem all together. After taking my matrix to a recommended mechanic, the informed me that the cover was not actually leaking at all. So, very unimpressed that a representative or Toyota plainly lied to me. It's not a surprise to hear of a shady mechanic, but i expected far more from a Toyota employee. read more

I do not recommend Regency for servicing! I took my Matrix in for an oil change and check up. The mechanic claimed I needed $2500 worth of repairs. I went to my local trusted mechanic and found that my front brake rotors needed replacing but all the repairs Toyota suggested were not needed and saved myself $2000 in repair costs! Add to that if you leave them a message they never return your call! Terrible service! I will not be going back to Regency for repairs! read more

I leased a new car with Regency Toyota over two years ago and paid for all my services for the term of the lease upfront (which is the only reason I still come here). I come for a service every 6 months and have a problem every time. I have never been satisfied or happy after any service. They have tried to charge me for my service (even though I paid in advance and have a warranty), scratched my car, "forgotten" to do a part of the service and more. I don't know if it's because I'm a woman that they don't take me seriously, but it's ridiculous. I would never recommend Regency to anyone. read more

Poor customer service. Went this morning for a recall appointment. Got a $120 quote for a general check and a promise of a courtesy car during booking day on Saturday. This morning general check went to $174 and courtesy car wasn't ready or booked. Decided to go ahead with $174 check. Came back after 3 hours and surprise the guy "Jose" forgot the booking. Great customer service! I was referred by a friend to bring my car into Regency Toyota for servicing in Vancouver. The service advisor was quick to help on the phone and asked me very good questions to identify my issue. Both of my smart key fobs were malfunctioning. After some discussion, I booked an appointment and brought my car in, they were able to resolve my issue quickly. I found both the service advisor and service manager extremely helpful and I have decided to bring my car to the Vancouver Regency Toyota Service centre for future servicing. read more

Brought my 2014 Subaru BRZ in for a quick oil change on a Saturday morning. Easy to arrange online and get an automatic confirmation e-mail. I had requested that Regency contact me to confirm that they were using the 0W-20 synthetic but no one ever did. When I showed up there were no problems. Pulled the car up the drive-through and checked in at the desk. The oil change took about 1.5 hours to complete but there is a lounge upstairs to wait. The lounge is fitted with a TV, coffee machine, newspapers and wifi connection. There's also a kid's area with limited toys. The lounge is pretty big with seating up to 10 people. Staff overall was very friendly and welcoming. We chatted about the BRZ/FRS combination and other car talk. Would recommend Regency for anyone who has a BRZ over taking to a Subaru dealership (better pricing and service hours, plus I've heard negative reviews of the lower mainland Subaru's). read more
