After three awful experiences at Ashley's My husband and I have agreed never to shop here again. Last time we purchased living room furniture from Ashley's they provided us a delivery window that was so large, it required me taking the entire day off work. Then they delivered damaged furniture twice before finally delivering an acceptable table! The first had a hole in it and the second had large gashes and scratches all over the table top. They charged me an insane delivery fee and their incompetence caused me to take THREE days of work just to sit around and wait for the delivery guy. Most recently over Labor Day my husband and I were shopping for a new mattress and bedroom furniture. At the time Ashley's was having a labor day sale and temperpedic online was as well (online they were offering free pillows with mattress purchase). When I asked the salesmen if a mattress purchase included free pillows, he asked me 'if I was a Democrat, because I was trying to get stuff for free'. He also said that a $300 gift card offer would cover the cost of delivery --it didn't, and he also added a warranty to our order which we had discussed, but without ever telling us the price! Which turned our to be hundreds of dollars. All in all, the total came to $2000 more than what we had discussed and I had calculated. He said I 'must have forgotten to include tax', which I certainly had not. His explanation was that the numbers 'look different on the receipt'. Call me obsessive compulsive, but when we spent nearly ten grand I want to see where my money is going. The salesman seems more annoyed by this than anything. Shipping for our order was scheduled as far out as end of September, but we moved it to October due to a conflict with travel plans (save for one piece they planned to ship via UPS.) After the entire experience, however, we decided to cancel our order the very next day (contract states 100% refund if canceled before delivery). Ten days later though, they still shipped part of our canceled order anyways (the UPS item, for which tracking info showed shipped after our order was canceled) and then they made my husband return it to the store himself to receive our refund. He did right away, but now, over twenty days later, we STILL have not received our refund. I have called the store five times, left two voicemails four days apart, and called the call center half a dozen times and left voicemails there too. No one will return my calls or process our refund. We will NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN and I recommend everyone avoid this store entirely. Also, we ordered our temperpedic online btw, it arrived that same week and came with a free pillow. read more

Can't express enough how great the customer service is at this place. Everyone in the store goes the extra mile to ensure I had everything I needed by when I needed it. First of all they have crazy deals and sales going on I thought it was too good to be true I got 20% off and knocked off over 500$ off my order! I was hesitant about big stores cause I here the horror stories of furniture taking forever and I couldn't risk that cause My mom is coming to visit end of the month and I desperately needed living room furniture before she gets here I stressed cause I'm literally sitting on a bean bag and lawn chairs but my bed set I settled on is pushed back 2 weeks after the sofa and loveseat and would hold the delivery back. Was ready to walk at the news but their awesome Sales Manager Zeus ensured me the sofa would be there marked my items for priority gave me two separate deliveries to ensure the bed set wouldn't risk my sofa/loveseat would get be there on time. That alone made my shopping experience everything I could ask. On top of that the little things made all the difference. Sales Associate Was a cool dude let me walk around freely only came around if I asked and wasn't pushy at all, didn't give off that greedy salesman vibe even got me a better discount after the fact of me agreeing on a more expensive number you don't see that often in sales. Front desk girl was very friendly and helpful for my last few remaining questions, it actually made made forking over 3000 dollars easier if there is such thing. 100% if you need furniture this is your spot!!! read more

Last night was our first night sleeping on our new mattress and it was amazing! The mattress was not to soft or too hard it was just right. This mattress is exactly what we wanted, but most importantly, it's just exactly how the salesman ERICK VELASCO described. At first we were unsure about talking to a salesman because we had very bad experience before with salesmen not caring what the customer wants, but they only care about selling a piece of furniture. I can honestly say that we were so lucky we found a great salesman who actually pays attention to detail on what the customer wants and needs. Thanks to ERICK VELASCO and his excellent customer service and knowledge my wife and I were able to pick the right mattress that met our needs and fits our budget. His knowledge helped us a lot in the processes and any question we had he was quick to answer accurately. He made us feel that we were in good hands and made sure we were satisfied with our selection. *** Something that we do want to point out is the fact that Mr. Velasco takes care of his clients! He did what no other salesman has done for us before. He called us the day after our mattress arrived just to make sure everything ran smoothly and to make sure we were satisfied with the item we bought. My husband and I visited Ashley furniture over the weekend. We were immediately offered help by a gentleman named Jim Mosley. We declined needing help and just wanted to look around. After we found a sofa and love seat set we liked, we were able to easily locate Jim for help. We explained that we had seen two different sofa/love seat sets at another store for a specific price. After speaking with the store manager, Jim was able to price match both sets for us. Jim did an exceptional job helping us to get exactly what we wanted and also more importantly, at the price we wanted. He was even very patient with all of my 6 year olds questions :). When we are ready to buy additional furniture and decor, I will definitely make sure to ask for Jim. I'd also like to mention how polite the store manager Zeus was. Going to Ashley's Furniture I was hesitant at first because of the comments and reviews I had read and heard, but they proved me wrong! I was looking into buying a living room set and a dining room set and that's exactly what I got! I chose a 6 pc sectional and a 7 pc dining set with a bench, and I feel I couldn't have found them anywhere else! But, not only did they have a vast selection of furniture, but the customer service I received was over the top! I was helped right away, and the salespeople weren't like vultures like I had experienced in other places! They went above and beyond to give me a great deal which was very much appreciated! We had a pretty good experience this Labor Day weekend. We originally went in Sunday evening and Richard was quick to greet us and guided us back toward the youth furniture. (We were looking for a new bed for our growing preschooler.) He was really patient with us, as we had looked at several other places that day and needed time to compare options, prices, etc. We went back again Monday as Ashley's had the best deals for what we wanted. I took awhile to make my final decision, but Richard wasn't at all pushy or rushing us. He gave us time to make our decision and just made the buying process smoother than what we had anticipated. I have made a few purchases at Ashley Furniture Homestore in Fresno and every time I received GREAT Service. However I did come down to check out their new store in Visalia and it was cool there was quite the variety in style and price. As usual I am looking for the deal on top of a deal, so I went into their back clearance area I found a recliner sofa close out for 50% off..and an nive end table for $49..that is a steal. Have a Manager was walked by said hi to me, and offer some help.But I like to be around by myself. Anyhow...., I love this store!!The store look clean,with nice furniture and designs with a lot accessories. The sale staffs, they're cool and very polite ,they are not rushing me any thing.. i am and have been in the furniture retail business for many years , to have a store as large and reputable as AFHS come to Visalia is amazing and I say ITS ABOUT TIME! the stores are locally owned and operated , but the operation is strictly based on a very successful corporate model . personally I have worked in both corporate furniture and "Mom and Pop" retail furniture and unfortunately in the ever-changing and improving 'FurnitureWorld"Mom and Pop just can't keep up anymore, in a customer perspective, shopping for furniture HAS TO BE a visual experience, if you have a Saturday afternoon free walk thru a few stores and compare notes I'm sure you will see for yourself AFHS was sorely needed in our great community. read more

Shopping here has been one of the most fun and best experiences I've had in a while the Sales advisor Nick was absolutely incredible he gave me space and was very patient in my 4 day shopping experience. He followed up with every question I had I sent him pictures of certain room designs and he did everything he could do to get it as close to that as possible. He gave me a great deal, and was possibly the most honest salesman I've ever worked with. He was very professional. I can't say the same about the management both ladies were very rude and did not have patience or professionalism. However only because of Nick will I shop there again. Terrible, horrible customer care. Don't buy from Ashley!!!! Bought a tv stand several months ago and received the wrong size shelves for the middle of the unit. Zero follow through from Ashley. I had to chat online and even asked for a callback (finally called back three days later) no follow up on their side. The shelves are not going to be delivered till November and they're not even sure if it will be then. We are supposed to follow-up before then to see if it actually is on the way, but they can't say for sure. So we are currently left with two shelves that don't fit and no real assurance that we are even going to receive them. They need a company lesson on service recovery. read more

Thankfully, we were helped by Julie George one of their Sales Associates who helped us find our dream dinning set along with the place mats, dinnerware and rug that the purchase came with. If you go in to shop around ask for Julie she is so friendly and helpful. Great with kids too! She made buying easy. I don't understand how someone can state that they were not greeted. I've been there numerous times and each time I was greeted w/courteous and professional staff. I didn't buy anything the first time yet the staff made me feel just as important as it someone who did buy. All the furniture is beautiful and great quality. First off, this is a beautiful store with a great selection of quality furniture at reasonable prices. Julie our sales persons had the perfect combination of informative experience and knowing when to let us browse on our own. (I loath 'fluttering/hovering/pushy' salespeople and she's none of those). I filed a claim through guardsman because we had bought a sectional that had a scratch on head rest. Unfortunately that wasn't covered. During my trip to Ashley Homestore in Visalia I was greeted by the friendliest Sales Associate. They showed me to the mattress gallery right away. I was in the market for a new mattress and they had the biggest selection from Tempur Pedic to Ashley brand and everything in between. I also looked at bedroom sets to go with my new mattress. I'll be in the market for a new sofa soon and I loved the selection. The quality of the furniture is amazing for the price that they are selling it for. My wife and I went in looking for new couches and love seat along with a dinning table with chairs we only had a fix amount to spend of 2500$ the couches we wanted along with the table and chairs came with taxes and delivery came out to over 4000$ but Jim the sales rep was eager to help us out not only did we get everything we wanted for 2500$ out the door he also gave us a five year protection plan on everything for free I was amazed. The store looks like any other ashley furniture store no complaints there. The sales staff is being managed by Juan and he is extremely ghetto! He is an alcoholic womanizer that sleeps with married women in the store and outside of the store and puts his sexual pleasure above all others. Ashley hired him from out of town, you would think that they could have found someone a little more professional or wholesome.
