Came here because I was in the market for a speed queen washer, knowing they are the top tier of washing machines that last significantly longer than any other washer out there. This place here was the authorized retailer, and I was pretty familiar with this place and how long it's been here for. Came here with my wife and was greeted by Mr. Ruddy himself. He firsthand helped us with finding the machine I wanted. Purchased it and picked it up the next day. It was really cool to talk with Mr. Ruddy about this building and how long it's been here for, as well as his dad being the one that actually built it. I had purchased appliances from them before. Needing a new stove/oven, I found the one I wanted, I purchased and arranged for delivery. My new stove was delivered very dusty and dirty. They didn't even have all the parts for this purchase. Very disappointed. Told them to refund and take back, which they did. Will never purchase from them again. read more

Ruddys is known for selling lots of scratch & dent appliances & I was trying to save $$ by purchasing a scratch & dent washer & dryer. Wrong choice. The dryer made a gosh awful noise; because the drum was bent. The installers tried to fix it; the noise was bad! It continued to get worse so they sent a repair man out since it was still under warranty. This helped but I can't dry a bed cover in it or more than 4 towels or the dryer barrel makes the scraping noise again. The top load GE washer right at the year mark (no warranty) drips water in the tub. So I need to be right there to pull the clothes out immediately after it goes through the final spin or they get wet again & I have to run it thru the spin cycle again and stand and wait 10 minutes to pull them out! I thought I might be able to trade them back in and purchase a new Speed Queen set but they said no. read more

While prices were on the higher end, I really like the customer service that Butch Ruddy gives. He takes the time to go over every single appliance, their warranties, the pros and cons of each one, what best fits your needs, etc. Their selection was pretty good, too! They also carry the Speed Queen brand, which I heard are pretty reliable compared to some of the fancy new ones that cost an arm and a leg to fix. I have bought several high end appliances from Ruddys. VIKING REFIGERATOR AND DISHWASHER...not cheap! I called to see if they had a freezer...was told were getting some in tomorrow. I said good hold a 21 cuft one for me I'll call in the morning with a cc for it. Call back at 10 the next morning, they sold it to someone else.. I'm sorry you don't treat people that way.... Set the time machine to 1970. I wanted to buy several appliances for my kitchen. I went in to Ruddy's and was met by this 6 foot fan that sort of sounded like and airplane idling. Not sure if their AC is broken or that's what they use..anyway there are empty spaces in all the cabinets and to look at refrigerators u have to leave the building and walk into the building next door. Disappointed again, most of the floor models are dented, but they could order me new ones... so I asked for pricing on a refrigerator and dishwasher, the salesman goes over to a desk that has a computer on it and more than 5 minutes later he comes back with a torn strip of paper with his barely legible handwriting on it with the prices....Really , not even a print out? Sorry even as old as I am I can't deal with this place read more

I have worked with Butch Ruddy for years on various appliances in a couple of different homes. He has always had the best price that I can find anywhere, even compared to the big box stores. Some of the items I bought were from his scratch and dent items, but was able to decide if you would see the dent or not and make my own decision on buying it. Just bought a Speed Queen washer there after my Maytag took a crap on me the other day. I've heard good reviews about Speed Queen brand so wanted to try one (like the "old school" washers, more durable). Salesman Bruce was very detailed and had very professional mannerism in his description of the Speed Queen washer, friendly person also. Was delivered and hooked up by Gary. Great service, great price. Got a brand new GE French door fridge for just over half of the retail price. Couldnt find a dent or ding in it even though it was an open box. Went in looking for a fridge there all dented up and way to expensive. He says there new that the fridges are the ones that have been dropped from other places from delivery. May or may not be true but who wants dented up appliances in there home. I would not go back did not like this place at all read more

I would give zero stars if that was an option. We have purchased major appliances from Ruddy's twice, to support local business. NEVER AGAIN. First purchases were a cook top, microwave oven and oven. We had issues with the cook top and microwave both needing the GE tech. Ruddy's installed the wrong oven , which I pointed out to the installer. He said this is what they gave me. Several days later, Ruddy's called and said the wrong oven was installed. I could pay the difference and keep the oven or wait a few days for the correct oven. I opted to wait. Second experience was with a refrigerator. These were all kept in a dimly lit room. We chose our model, and the next day went to sign for it. That's when the dents were pointed out, with the promise of ordering a new drawer. After several notices of "wrong part ordered" we figured it was a lost cause. We wrote a letter to them, with no response. They offer zero customer service and promise things they don't deliver. read more

This review is a little over 2 years in the making. I purchased 3 GE appliances as part of my kitchen remodel. In the first year, I had a repair tech in my home NINE times for the refrigerator and FOUR times for the dishwasher. As the one year anniversary of my purchase approached, I decided to buy the extended warranty on the refrigerator even though I have always been philosophically opposed to them. As I sit here now, the refrigerator is making so much noise, I have to turn the volume up on the TV and the freezer is reading 28 degrees. I have also been washing my dishes by hand for 3 weeks because the heating element is broken. Never, ever will I again do business with Ruddy's or buy another GE appliance. read more

I purchased a "new" dishwasher last September 2017. The end of July 2018, the dishwasher started leaking water onto the floor. Discovered, the dishwasher was broken. The door would not latch. However, the dishwasher 'worked' and the condensation from the drying cycle would leak onto the laminate floor. Repairman came, 'ordered' the part, but Ruddy's decided to put in a brand new dishwasher. Unfortunately, when the installer came in, Mr Ruddy decided he didn't want to put in the new one. This all happened around August 19, 2018. I called Consumer Relations to discuss the problems with getting the dishwasher either fixed or repaired. GE would NOT cover the expense because the dishwasher was made in 2013 and USED...totally dishonest. Very upset with this business and will never purchase from them again. Supposedly, a new dishwasher is to be installed tomorrow...no one should have to put up with this long of a repair....oh, and the part of the used dishwasher will be arriving October 19-25 of 2018...by then, the warranty has expired. I purchased a GE Monogram refrigerator (out-of-box) but sold as new. After it was installed and I was wiping it down, I noticed marks from cans and food spills on the inside. The water dispenser appeared to be scrubbed and the finish was gone. The second day after installation, it froze up. I went through GE to have it repaired and the service man had to replace the "brains" (computer board) and other parts. I have been in contact with Ruddy's for the past 7 weeks trying to get them to replace the water dispenser and provide a kick plate as it arrived without one. They have not returned one call and cannot give a date when the parts will arrive. I called GE and they are having the parts delivered to my home and it should be repaired this week. Why didn't I just return it? I had to have the space for it custom finished. I would not recommend Ruddy's to anyone and I will never do business with them again. read more
