DO NOT BUY ANY APPLIANCES FROM HERE! They will sell you broken, junky appliances. When you're still in the 2 month warranty, they will cut corners and do a temporary fix. Then, when it's time to pay them for repairs, they will lie to you, overcharge you, and then it will just break again in a couple weeks. We are out thousands of dollars because of this shady place. We have purchased a fridge, a washer, and a dryer from them and they ALL have needed repairs/replaced within 3 months.
May 3rd, we got our $355 beat down, dirty, stinky fridge delivered to our driveway (we paid for delivery, but they will not enter a door or garage unless you pay $100 extra). We were told the fridge would be completely cleaned up and working perfectly. Within a couple days, I knew something wasn't right with the fridge. Aside from the smell, it hardly got cold. I tried to give it a few days thinking maybe it needed time since it had been unplugged. We went grocery shopping finally and the next day we had to throw out the chicken, milk, etc. During all of this, I had the fridge and freezer both set to the highest temp allowed.
While all of that was happening, we had another dilemma, and we were now in the market for a washer and dryer. We checked Lowe's, but they only had gas dryers. We were going to head to Sears, but we thought, "Hey! Appliance Synergy is on the way. Why don't we just stop there to tell them about the problems we are having with the fridge, since we can't reach them on the phone!" For some reason, and I have no idea why, we decide we buy a washer and dryer while we are there. I figured we would be safe choosing the only scratch and dent appliances he had, since they were technically brand new (according to him), and were only sold to him at a discount because they had a small dent or scratch. We paid to have it delivered the next day, and he also agreed to look at the fridge.
John came out, and all he did was turn our freezer down to the lowest setting and said that should fix the problem because when they are both up high, less cold air gets to the fridge portion with side by sides. That's BS. But, he's the "professional" so we thought, we should just see if that works. I don't remember if it was just time or if it got a little colder. However, it's been just over 3 months and it's just horrible. It still doesn't get very cold, I would say it probably gets as cold as the lowest setting on a newer/working refrigerator, and that's with the fridge still on the highest setting.
The absolute worst part is the SMELL! Since the day we got it, the fridge has had this nasty odor. I have taken all the shelves out and deep cleaned it many times, and I always have baking soda in there. It has to be something inside the fridge or something. I've tried looking under it, but I refuse to spend any more money on repairs from appliances from here, so we are probably going to just have to buy a new fridge. For just a little bit more money, we could have gotten a brand new fridge and avoided all of this.
Now, onto the washer and dryer. We purchased them on 5/7 for $750. The appliances here come with a 2 month warranty. Keep in mind, these were supposed to be brand new, scratch and dents. I wasn't expecting to have any issues with them. Literally days after the 2 month warranty ended, the dryer stopped heating. Now, I really didn't want to work with Appliance Synergy again, but I decided to call since we were only 3 days out of the 2 month warranty. I figured they would stand behind their product and loyal customers. NOPE! We were still charged full price and John ripped us off.
He found out some coils in the heating element had broken. Now, he had said on the phone that since I was a returning customer, he would not up-charge on the parts. I trusted that. My husband was at work, and I was home alone with the kids when he came, so I didn't have time to double check the cost. He told me that he could go get a brand new heating element for me from the place he buys from, and that it would be $90 just for the part, and supposedly that's what he is charged at discount! Then he said that I could do that, or he could sell me a used one he had in his truck for $40. He said it would work exactly the same as the new one. I had to get the used one because with all the other repair costs, it would have been more expensive to repair than we actually paid for the dryer. $150 later, the dryer was fixed. After he left, I googled the part. I could get that part BRAND NEW for $15-$25!!! He told me it would be $90 new, and he charged me $40 for a USED one. That doesn't include the labor, diagnostic, and other costs. And what do you know? The dryer broke again two weeks later. That time I just replaced it and bought a new one. Yelp doesn't give me enough room to go into detail about the washer, but we have since replaced that too. Please, save yourself the money and the headache by buying new, or even check Craigslist. read more
