I don't know the mattress base height because I purchased 3 sets. After delivery I realized one of them is too high for my 5-year old, however when I ask about exchanging to a lower one, manger said there's no exchange at all for mattress related items. My fiancé and visited Ashley furniture several times purchasing about $10,000 between us. the last time we were there we bought a pair of lamps that was not coming from their local warehouse and was shipped UPS a couple days later. We were in the process of moving into a new home so we were not able to get to them until 5 days later once we were in our home. They were delivered to our new place and we were there and able to put them in the house right away. One of the lamps was broken so I called and because it was not opened within their 72 hr time limit (which was on back of order in small print) they would not replace the broken lamp. After the amount of money we spent , they should have replaced the lamps that were $79.00 . They have a no return policy with their store even on situations like ours. ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS!! I highly recommend inspecting everything and reading all the small print. They will not make any exceptions once it's in your home and they leave. If you decide you don't like it or it's not the right size and just need a bigger size, etc. ... you're screwed! They need to change their policy when it comes to returns. My husband and I had another great experience here at Ashley and we have Leonard to thank again for that. For starters, you'll never enter this location without being greeted by a friendly face who is willing to direct you to the part of the store you're looking for or let you shop solo if that's what you'd prefer. Tonight we stopped in to purchase two tufted dining chairs that I had seen online. Our goal was to take advantage of the Black Friday Weekend / Cyber Monday sale. While they unfortunately didn't have the chairs I was eying within this store, they were able to order me them to be delivered to my home as early as next week. Because there was a 35% off sale going on, my husband and I also ended up extending our shopping list to include additional items we needed to complete our living room look. We found a beautiful huge shag rug, a rustic coffee table, a farmhouse buffet table to store our formal dining dishes, and two rustic counter stools. We were blown away with the deal we received for this huge package. Even further, we ALSO ended up making our first big purchase as newlyweds by buying a new King Tempur-Pedic mattress because we were on a shopping roll and the incentives were too good to pass up. Leonard was great to work with and broke down all of the details for financing these items on my Ashley Credit Card for 0% interest for 6 months. He was very patient with the amount of questions my husband had and really took the time to explain to us the breakdown of all delivery fees, warrantees, taxes, etc. In fact, Leonard stayed with us over one hour past closing time to finish our transaction and never once did he rush us. His degree of professionalism is high and I felt honored to shake the manager's (David) hand and share my sentiments with him about Leonard. This location will continue to be the first place we stop into whenever we are on the hunt for any piece of furniture and we will always make sure to work with Leonard. The day of delivery, the driver calls me TEN MINUTES prior to arrival to confirm my address and it was WRONG. They had an old address of mine from where I lived 2 addresses ago !!! Obviously we provided our new address in store when we bought the table, our receipt even had it on there..so where they went wrong I have no idea. Please, please get your furniture from someone else. Sales people will do or say anything to close the sale. We purchased several pieces of furniture. We were promised that the furniture would be delivered to two separate locations, one was a gift (recliner chair). I have invoices to show which pieces of furniture were going to the correct addresses. On the day of delivery, the driver calls and has delivered to the wrong address. He said he will not turn around and hung up on us after telling him he is not at the right location. I have left several messages with the Montclair store, they have not returned any calls. The company itself makes it difficult to get a hold of a human being to talk to. The only remedy is for us to get a manager to override another delivery date since they rescheduled delivery for our furniture for another 2 weeks! Unacceptable customer service. Came here a couple days ago to take a look at some mattresses with my wife. She's been bugging me to look at mattresses and I was putting it off. Long story short we end up here looking at some mattresses. I spoke with one of the salesman on the floor who answered a couple questions on a mattress for me. We were looking at a very nice mattress that had a bunch of different features. Being that this will be the first mattress I've ever purchased I had a ton of questions. He was not able to help me answer all the questions but had his manager Puya help answer my questions. This manager was beyond helpful wasn't there to push a sale, but for me on different options and pros and cons of the matter is I was looking at. He was very patient and was extremely thorough. Do not buy from Ashley! After spending 2.4K we purchased a dining table along with a recliner. First we dealt with shipping/pick up issues. Second, upon receiving the table it was made incorrectly. The preholes to screw together the table were off. Ashley had to order another and had a tech put it together. Third, after having the table a month the top began to lift. We wanted a refund/credit to our card but Ashley wouldn't refund us just give us store credit. By this, forcing us to buy another piece of furniture not wanted or we'd lose the refund within a time frame. We were made to purchase a a credenza. Fourth, this was the worst part. They delivered a credenza with wood boring bugs! I started to notice small sawdust piles. Not noticeable enough when walking by it but noticeable upon cleaning it. I didn't give it any thought since I don't know about wood until someone told us what it was! Wood boring bugs! Now because it's too late to report it to Ashley we're stuck with a defective dining table, a credenza w/wood boring bugs that are slowly it eating away and still paying off a credit card! The sells person who sold me the cabinet told me I should get the insurance Incase something happens to the furniture during delivery or any damage in general So I did buy the insurance. We got the free delivery and was dropped off "inside" the house. When we opened the box the first panels where damaged on both ends. I called the store and spoke to the manager "Jorge" explained my situation to see if we could get an exchange or if I could return it. He said we have to make an appointment to take it back since we did not pay the delivery fee. I told him I bought the insurance it should be covered and someone should be able to come and replace it. I can't speak for all the employees who work there, but my husband and I had a bad experience with two employees in particular: the store manager Jorge and an employee named Christopher Alonzo. My husband and I recently bought a house and we were very excited to go furniture shopping. Christopher Alonzo was recommended by a friend, so we decided to give Ashley's Furniture a try. Picking out our furniture was a great experience and Christopher answered all of our questions. We purchased over $10,000 in furniture and couldn't wait until it arrived. A week or so passed and our furniture was delivered in 2 different trips. Everything was fine until we saw that too many pieces were ordered for the couch we purchased. Apparently, Christopher ordered 2 extra pieces totaling about $900. We called to say that there was a mistake, and we were told that once we signed the delivery paperwork, the furniture is ours. There are no refunds or exchanges, NO EXCEPTION. WE WERE NEVER TOLD THIS WHEN PURCHASING THE FURNITURE. Christopher and I were going back and forth via telephone of how to fix the situation. The couch was way too big for our loft. I inquired about store credit and Christopher said that option was not available. After communicating on the phone with Christopher for two weeks trying to find a solution (which became very frustrating), he came back to tell me that his manager is going to give us the cost of the couch in gift cards. What else were we to do? So, I went to the store and met with Jorge the store manager who apologized for the mixup and gave me 9 $100 gift cards. He said I can come back and use them at any time. Now, 5 months later, my husband and I see a piece of furniture that we really like and now we want to use the gift cards to purchase it. My husband went to the store today and Jorge, the store manager came at him with an attitude telling him that the gift cards can only be used ONE AT A TIME and cannot be used on anything that is on sale. 5 months ago, when I was handed the gift cards, Jorge PURPOSELY DID NOT tell me about the gift card limitations. How DECEITFUL is that? Today at the store, my husband told Jorge that I was never informed of the card limitations. Jorge's response? "YOU SHOULD HAVE READ THE BACK OF THE CARDS".
