This is the second time I bought from Ashely (Ledgewood store) I have had 2 very satisfactory experiences. Just bought a bedroom set (a few weeks ago). I just had it delivered and I am BLOWN AWAY by how much better and BIGGER it looks in my home. I was given a delivery time of 3-7PM and drivers showed up at 1PM. They were efficient, careful, and polite. They cleaned up the wrappings and hauled it away. The salesperson and other personnel I dealt w/were ALL very pleasant to work with and talk to. I 1st went on line and got different prices for the same set - ASHLEY matched those prices!!! I would highly recommend this store in LEDGEWOOD. I will definitely shop there again. My fiancé and I went to Ashley's yesterday to purchase a living room and bedroom set for our new home. Joe could not have been more helpful. He was the perfect balance of friendly, informative, and personable without being overbearing or pushy. He let us explore on our own but stayed nearby to answer any questions. He worked out a great deal for us, while providing cold water on a hot day and cracking jokes along the way. When you're about to commit to spending a nice chunk of money on furniture you plan to use for several years, it is really nice to have someone so genuine make that experience enjoyable. If I have to be quite frank...don't spend a single penny here. I'm writing a review today, July 2nd and I ordered my furniture late April and I still haven't received my bed set yet. For 3 months, my wife and I have been sleeping on a mattress that has been on the floor and when I complained about it to them. On the week of June 13th, they had told me that my furniture was going to be in on July 6th. Just got the call today that I have to wait another 2 weeks. The most they were able to do was give me 100 dollars compensation....100 dollars for a 2200 dollar order. This company is the absolute worst in customer service and are unwilling to help with any problem. Please, I beg of anyone reading this, go the extra mile and spend a little bit more money somewhere else. This business sucks! read more

My wife and I bought a living room sofa and love seat. While there the sales guy helping us named Joe said he was an expert at fitting people for mattresses too. We came that day for a sofa but we also needed a new mattress. So I asked him to show us those too. Wow. He really was good and knowledgeable about mattresses and about getting a good night's sleep. Bought a sofa and a loveseat in December. The delivery men could not fit the couch into my apartment and put a hole in the wall of my hallway. They took the big couch back on the truck, promising that I would get a call from the store. I have called twice and twice I was told I could not talk to the manager and that the salesman - Joe - would call me back within 10 mins. Still no call back. So now they have my money and the couch and will not call me back. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

I've shopped at Ashley before and had pretty good experiences; as good as can be had at a furniture store. The most recent time after they moved was not so good. The salesman was great, but I feel bad for the people that have to work for the sales manager. He was rude to his salesman and us alike; as if he couldn't be bothered taking the time to crunch the numbers that the salesman asked him to do. 1/26 update: I have finally received the loveseat this morning completing my order I initially paid for on 11/10. If you are interested, there is a segment on News 12 NJ discussing my story. The investigator shares that there is not much recourse to take when someone is treated like I was here. However, any furniture purchase above $100 in NJ should have a contract (which I have) listing a delivery date. If the order is not delivered by that date, the customer is to be given the option for a full refund or a later delivery date. On our Ashley contract, the section that outlines this was left blank. Instead, we were provided a secondary delivery date sheet. Again, I find this practice quite sneaky. I was not ever offered a full refund, just a later and later delivery date. The investigator shared that I could try and ask for more credit, but as I shared, Lisa denied anything beyond $200 because then Ashley would lose money. I urge you all never to purchase an item from Ashley. Their supply chain system is extremely flawed, and while the customer service manager would like to say the below only happens to a slim percentage, Ashley's corporate site begs to differ based on the reviews posted there as well. Please take your business elsewhere. I do not gain anything from you going to another store - all I can say is that you should not come here. 1/15 update: Lisa - I am currently waiting on a call back from you. One of your store managers informed me you are in a corporate meeting but will return my call before 5pm today. I was informed our sofa would be delivered on Thursday, but our loveseat will not be available for delivery until February. This is absolutely unacceptable. I am requesting a $500 credit as I already took off work for delivery on Thursday and now will have to take another day in February for an item that may not be in stock in February either. This waiting game is growing very old. I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB and the FTC regarding the scam that is occurring with this organization. Taking my money upfront and then waiting for an unknown time frame. Lisa called. Only a $100 credit can be offered again. Therefore, I am paying 800+ for an item I do not have. Lisa will call back Monday with an update. I will update this when (if) I receive the sofa & loveseat I ordered in store on November 10. Service in store was ok. Rep informed us we would receive a call about the delivery date in two days because the date provided (late Dec) is not always accurate. I never received a call so called mid-week to check. Rep told me they were still working on a delivery date. Called me back the next day to say we were scheduled for 12/29. A little annoyed by the lengthy wait time but all good. Received a call this morning (12/27) from Tanya sharing that both pieces are now out of stock and delivery has been moved to January 17th. I called the number back and spoke with a friendly Cindy. She shared that the main warehouse does not inform stores of stock until stores pull inventory, so when the store pulled for our set, it was gone. Cindy offered a gift certificate which I declined as I will not be returning to any Ashley. I asked for credit, and she agreed. She informed me the store will be calling within 48 hours to obtain my credit card information for the credit. I will be calling if I do not hear from them within this time frame. I appreciate the credit, but $100 does not make up for the 2+ months' wait for a set I paid a few thousand dollars for. Very disappointed at this process for what I thought was a solid brand. Communication and planning are very poor. I do not recommend! Guess I'll be sitting on the floor for a little while longer... 12/27 update: Obviously no couches yet, but store manager (Mark) called to apologize. I asked about the 17th, and he said it should be delivered so only time will tell. I asked if I could provide my credit card info. now to have my credit processed, so he had one of his associates (Jazmin/Jasmin) enter it. Should take 3-5 days for me to see it. The sales and service were good. The guy was nice that helped me load up my van. We bought several pieces from Ashley since they were cost efficient and looked nice. Never again! Our dining table lost it's luster within a few months. The chairs were sent incomplete, then they sent us random pieces since the product was discontinued. To their credit, they tried to accommodate, but the product is inferior. A rep at another furniture store said, "Don't buy there, you get what you pay for". She was right and I should have listened. The dresser drawers, pffft, the backs are way too low and clothes fall out the back. The desk, sheesh, after just a few months the paint was coming off. The bed frame, are you kidding, the wood holding up the box spring was full of knots and it collapsed. I will say the hardware on the dresser is decent, no problems with the slides, but the knobs need constant tightening. It's not that I will never learn.......it's that I cannot afford anything else. Ashley Furniture is the struggling middle class poor shlepps only option. And I am in that category. I have bought so much furniture from Ashley over the last 6 years and it is all sub par quality that you will be lucky if it lasts you more than a few years. Now they will sell you the insurance or whatever that "extra deal" is. They basically tell you that you can light your couch on fire and they will replace it for free. I have purchased those "warranties" and have never gotten a single piece of furniture replaced or fixed when it inevitably breaks after normal wear and tear. My first experience with this was with my sofa sectional. After about 3 years of use (I am single, no kids no pets- so imagine the use?? barely any) a piece of support wood broke in the spot where I sit under the frame (I am 150lbs) I bought the warranty for replacement "NO MATTER WHAT!!!" and I still had to pay for the repair man to come fix the wood. I made a big stink about it though and they ended up splitting the cost with me. I think I ended up paying $100 to fix the wood piece. Next I bought a mattress. It was the weirdest thing ever, none of the sheets fit that I bought for this King - and it was NOT a California. Not to mention is was not as comfy as it was when I tested it in the store- But I do know, that's the trouble with Mattress buying, you never really know until you sleep on it for a night or two. but this thing was HARD!!!! Turns out is was a discontinued model and they were just trying to move them, so the salesman REALLLLLY Sold me! (Yep, I guess Im a sucker) and you cannot return a mattress. Next, I had to replace all of my furniture upon my most recent move, so I went to Ashley yet again. (Real deal furniture is SOOOO Expensive!So what was I supposed to do??) Got a living room set and some bedroom furniture and a new desk and leather office chair. I am waiting for the sofa to fall apart, I have had it for 5 months and the recliners are "questionable" and the fabric where the recliner - reclines, is getting really worn out already. 1 Month in, the office chair broke, And this thing was no Staples $100 special! this chair as like $300 !!!! The piston to raise the chair up and down was broken (I am not a fat person! Believe me!) So I called them up to tell them how annoyed I was and the girl took a message and said someone would get back to me. 1 week went by, nothing! I called again and left a message this time. 1 more week NOTHING!! Horrible customer service!! The following week I get a phone call from my old landlord telling me a package arrived fro me from Ashly Furniture. To my OLD ADDRESS! (They had just a month earlier delivered a house full of furniture to my NEW ADDRESS!!!!!!!) So I had to drive an hour to my old apartment to get this secret delivery only to find it was a new piston, no directions or anything. I tried to fix it myself (but SHOULD I HAVE HAD TO????????????) Over $8000 spent the month before and they send me a piston?????? I watched youtube videos to try to fix this thing and could not. The chair is WOOD and LEATHER. And I was like a monkey with a hammer. I called a handy friend of mine who has a wood shop in his basement. He had to create some sort of Press machine to get the piston out of the chair base so he could change this thing adn fix it! And they just sent the piece as if it was easy as changing a light bulb!? Really annoyed by all the warranty selling they do, and fixing they DON'T DO. I swear with y'all as my witness I will NEVER GO TO ASHLEY FURNITURE AGAIN FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE. Thank you. read more

I went there on December 3 to buy a recliner. Amy pulled the classic "up sell" on me and promised me up and down, after looking through 2 different computers and finding everything in stock, that my family would receive delivery of our "recliner, sofa and loveseat" before Christmas. December 20 to be exact! On 12/18 I get the call to confirm my delivery for JANUARY 17th!!!!. Say goodbye to the $2500 Christmas present for my family! What happened AMY? I thought it was all in stock on 12/3? LIAR! You got your commission, liar! They made good on it though, offered me a $200 store credit on a future purchase. Like I'd ever shop there again LOL!! I'm ONLY leaving 1 star but it deserves -5. The first time we bought a kitchen table, it took 2 weeks to receive our table & chairs. Then the chairs were delivered but no table. The delivery guys had no idea why we didn't get our table. Then we called the store & they didn't know why we weren't receiving our table. Finally after a few hours we learned our table was broken. A month later we purchased a couch, put it layaway. Then paid for it 2 wks later on 10 Dec. we were scheduled for delivery on the 16th. They called is to say it was back-ordered but wouldn't be available until 13 Jan. Now I got another call, saying it's back ordered again. They said they can't promise the couch will arrive so now they want to reschedule for the 20th of January. That's 1 1/2 months after we paid for it. They want to offer us 100$ refund of store credit. Update: I purchased the dresser from Ashley Furniture in August 2015. They had cancelled my delivery a total of 5 times. As of the middle of October I cancelled my order with Ashley and purchased the same dresser with Suburban Furniture. I got the dresser in less then 1 week from Suburban Furniture! Ashley Furniture could care less on the trouble they caused. Their only response to me was... Cancel your order then! I have called several times to speak to a manager, but of course no manager was ever available and they told me that I would get a call back. Guess what... Never call back from anyone! When leaving the store we checked the website pricing and saw how much we had just over paid for a sectional, then when we went back to question it we got the "deer in the headlights" looks from the sales staff knowing they were just caught red handed. Well today is the 12th of October. The warranty company called Ashley in Ledgewood about my claim .I was on hold almost thirty minutes. The manager was too busy to talk so a sales's person was taking to company. They have to look in the warehouse for the parts and the manger will contact me. I am not going to wait for another month to go by. I will take all my documentation,receipts and warranty info and go to the store this week in person. I want answers not the run around again. They told the warranty company the same info I am not in system they were bought out and new management. That is terrible customer service . Buyer again I am going to write this -Do not buy there unless you want to go through this nightmare like I am going through. Chair was left with packing materials clinging on parts of chair. No problem with delivery men but that's not a way to leave furniture after it is unpacked. Also, make sure you check the stores return policy. My Sister received as gift but couldn't use chair because of injury and wanted to return but was told that she could only receive store credit. The back of receipt states that refunds of money back can occur within 7 - 10 days. I am seeking legal advise. read more

This place is so useless it's not even funny. Do not buy a mattress from this place, period. I purchased a new mattress for $2,500 from this location 5-years ago, obtained a 10-year warranty, and purchased their "amazing" $200 mattress protector to go along with it. A quality bed is an investment, truly, worth making. Issue #1: Their "amazing" Guard-Master $200 mattress protector they just HAD to sell me for "my protection" didn't help with preventing stains. If anything goes through, Guard-Master will clean the bed and, if/when that doesn't work, they're supposed to replace the mattress. Simple. My problem was from candle wax that had gotten on the mattress cover and, amazingly, leaked through dying the mattress at the head of the bed. After failing to be able to clean the stain, they shipped me a new protector; refusing to replace the mattress. First breach of contract. Issue #2: My once-upon-a-time extremely comfortable, softer-than-clouds Stearns & Foster king I've owned for 5-years has sunk nearly 6+ inches in the middle. No matter how you lay, you're going to end up dead-center of the mattress and waking up with horrific back pains. Seriously. This is a structural issue. I'm not obese. I'm not having "jumping on the bed" parties. It's a structural issue, and there's no reason for it. Issue #3: I walk into Ashley's and ask for the manager. Bryant (or Brian; it's hard to remember since he was too busy helping as little as possible; walking off with associates to take a lap or two around the store looking for sales; or chatting with his sweater-vest buddies; rather than doing actual managerial work). I explain the issues with Guard-Master from several years before, and he attempts to tell me that cosmetic issues such as stains voids structural issues - even though this is dye. I explain something very simple: "if you purchase a new car and obtain a warranty for mechanical coverage and there is a ding on the car or some paint chipping while under that coverage, the dealer isn't going to void the warranty for engine repair. Cosmetic is cosmetic." He agrees, then continues to go on about my warranty will be voided, anyway. Customer Service looks up my information with their sorry excuse for a records-system and it only has my City State, Telephone, and products purchased. No policy, warranty, price, or other important information needed for post-purchase. How convenient. I'm given a card to phone Sealy, re-explain the situation. After a half-hour I was placed on hold. I walk up to the for-show manager and ask why he hasn't gotten me their policy yet. He goes: "I'm trying to work with you; why are you yelling at me?" "You're standing around chatting with this guy (an associate), when you told me you were finding the policy. That was over a half hour ago. You've done nothing. You're the manager! DO SOMETHING". He has Customer Service print out a screenshot of my City and State, telephone number, and name, with the products I purchased from 5-years ago. No prices, no coverage, no warranty information and (here's the kicker), the print out was, literally, half of the screen. It wasn't even the entire screen! (See attached) I look at him & ask if he's serious with this. At this point, he completely disappears and hides in the back.These people care about nothing post-purchase and provide horrific service. Sealy emails my warranty to Ashley's and specifically tells them to highlight the section that, again, has nothing to do with the reason I'm there; trying to (again!) scare me out of my warranty! Unreal! Then Sealy, finally, sends a request out that will take 2-3 days to reach the techs so they can reach out to me, and schedule a date to inspect the bed (to come up with any excuse not to replace). If they can (keyword: can) replace the bed due to the structural issues. (We already know where this is going, don't we.) What a waste of time. I WILL BE spreading the word about the HORRIFIC post-sales customer and managerial services. Stay away from this location at all cost! read more

First after sitting all day waiting g for delivery the guy calls me 5 minutes before they are supposed to arrive and openly admits he knew from the morning that it was broke and forgot to call me!! 2nd attempt - Missing pieces and I was originally told by a customer service guy that had a poor attitude it would be mailed in about 5 days then someone will be out - he wanted to offer me $75 GC to buy more crap in this store and didn't want to credit me anything until I said I was refusing the delivery!! Go somewhere that cares about you and not just you $$ still never heard from a manager and if you call they won't let you talk to anyone but the girls at the desk in the stores that's also don't care and get attitudes when you try to explain the situation ! He was rude when I decided I wanted a more affordable mattress. Idk, too passive aggressive for my liking. I canceled my order and was asked "why," I said I bought another from somewhere else. We purchased a chest and 2 nightstands for our bedroom the beginning of Jul and had them delivered within a couple wks so a little sooner than they initially told us which was good but on the day of delivery I contacted the service center about 30 mins after the guys left as I noticed they were missing legs on one of the night stands . They advised they would log a ticket and get back to me within 7-10 days - this alone is UNACCEPTABLE I would think they are able to contact the drivers right away or know where they are but they only stated they would chk. I followed up 7 days later no update 2 wks 3 wks and now we are over a month later and still no update when you call and I'm missing legs on one night stand . For a company like this this is completely unacceptable even if the responses - it should not take this long to correct such an error the drivers should have been able to turn around or atleast come back another day or warehouse mail out the legs by now . Granted I know U get Wht u pay for & it isn't that high end of a store but Ashleys is pretty reputable & I expected better customer service . I am giving 3 stars bc I can't give half star & the store rep that sold us the pieces was really pleasant and helpful but the customer service on any issues is not up to par for their level of store. read more

I actually had a pleasant buying experience at Ashley. Hey it is not Bassett, but neither is the price. My wife and I went in to purchase some furniture for a rental unit and found out that they were having a big sale. Home Run ! We were greeted by BRIAN and found him to be very helpful and not pushy (though he did want to sell us the furniture protection plan, which we immediately rejected). He found us a decent couch and love seat for an incredible price and we were on our way. Easy transaction, decent furniture that should last two years and the price could never be beat. On pickup day I was greeted by CARLOS at the loading dock and found him to be very pleasant and willing to help the customer. He went out of his way to make sure the couch was properly wrapped and placed in the truck in a safe manner. Thanks for your help Carlos !!!! read more

My Wife and I ordered a bedroom set for our son. We bought a platform bed, nightstand, dresser and mattress. The furniture was delivered July 10th. Besides knocking a picture off the wall on their way up to my sons bedroom, they also failed to put the bed together properly. I pointed out their error but they said, "no, it's supposed to go like that." It wasn't. They had to send someone the following day to fix it. But it gets worse. As soon as they unwrapped the dresser, I noticed a ding on the front of the dresser that had been sloppily repaired. I refused the piece. They tried to talk me into keeping it by offering and expert repair, but I pointed out that I paid for new furniture, not damaged and repaired. So they took it back and told me they ordered a new one and they would call when it came in. On July 26 they arrived with the dresser. They made it up the stairs without knocking the pictures off the wall and unwrapped the dresser. Surprise, they delivered the same damaged dresser that I refused over 2 weeks ago! Unbelievable. So I sent it back again and have to wait almost 3 more weeks to receive, hopefully, a NEW dresser. I will never buy from Ashley Furniture Home Store again. read more

This is by far the worst customer service I have experienced. My family and I went in and they looked right at us and we weren't even greeted not even a simple, "hello". Finally a sales rep came and asked us if we were being helped and we told her no and she proceeded to help us. As soon as we showed her what we were looking for she said yeah you can order the online and left us hanging. We were also interested in looking at the clearance area, which you need to be supervised. We asked at the desk and the told us that our rep has to assist us. I have been purchasing from Ashely's for years now and the last two times were not pleasant. I purchased a family room set a couple of years ago and the coffee table top was damaged and they NEVER came to fix or replace it after numerous calls. I just brought another family room set thinking I should try again. Hugh mistake. My cuddler section of my couch is damaged and after sending them pictures per their request and then having one of their technicians come to my house to order the fabric it still is not fixed. It has been two months and many calls and all I get is that they have a procedure to follow. Obviously the procedure is not working. I asked to have a manager call me and they never did. Now they expect me to take yet another day off work because they can't get it right. I asked them to please just replace that section of couch and they won't. read more

My experience in-store was fine and the actual delivery guys could not haven been more accommodating and understanding. But that's where the positive experience ends. Upon delivery, I learned that the order was missing the electric bed frame/built-in box spring and the chest had a crack. That's when a very frustrating experience started to take place and is still not resolved 3 days later. I will never use this Ashley location again, however I have used the Ashley on Rt 46 in Fairfield and would return there with no hesitation. The attitude of the warehouse/customer service team in Ledgewood is horrendous. Fairfield was a completely different experience. I wish I had known this sooner. Would have saved at least 15 phone calls, much frustration and my mom sleeping on the couch for 2 nights. They lied about the resolution just to get me off the phone after telling me she could sleep on the mattress on the floor because they didn't know where her frame was. Go Elsewhere! Prices in store wayyy higher than online store prices. There website states they price-match Amazon, Hayneedle, Overstock, Target and Wayfair, if certain criteria match. I'm my case it did, however, not a single salesperson was willing to follow the written policy. (see attached) I was given a multitude of stories from the sales staff, such as, we are not a corporation, we are a franchise; we have different prices depending if you finance with us or pay cash; we could sell for that price, but would have to charge tax According our price, not the price you pay and would have to charge shipping. Shipping went from 140 to 250 if the online price was used. Is that even legal? Hello IRS! Amazon also offered free shipping, so why would I get charged for shipping? I understand sometimes they only ship to the door, not the case with this item, they offered free shipping and inside delivery unless a thin stairway, no elevator or other difficult scenarios. Bottom line, Ashley price gouges and misleads the consumer on many levels. Do yourself a favor and do a quick google search to find out better options. over the last 6 years, we have purchased many furniture items from Ashley. We have had some minor issues here and there, but nothing that wasn't resolved...until now. We purchased a couch a matching oversized chair just over 2 years ago. The chair is broken, and when a repairman came out he said it was due to the cheapness of the furniture. when my husband called to follow up, they said they will NOT be replacing the chair (which the repairman deemed hazardous and to throw away immediately) due to excessive use. WHAT?!? we use the chair often, but there is NO reason it should be broken from sitting on it. the furniture is cheaply made and of poor quality. it may look nice but it doesn't last! when my husband called the sales associate he spoke with was incredibly rude. when he asked to speak with a manager, no one was "available" and he was told by the associate that the manager would tell him the same thing. totally obnoxious! what kind of warranty and customer service is this??? also, anytime I have had deliveries in the past, and exchanging of furniture due to poor quality or marking etc., the delivery men were always extremely rude and inpatient. we will never shop here again!!! its worth spending more to get furniture that will last read more

Don't purchase anything from here. The sales people were great but I have a very expensive couch (3 pieces) that I bought in November 2018 that is coming apart literally at the seams. The one piece looks like it was made incorrectly and is uneven and looks horrible in general. They have sent several repairmen in this time and it is still not fixed. I also noticed they repeatedly are posting my payments late to my account, I think this is a scam and I have purposely sent the payment in a week before it's due and it keeps saying it's late and charging me a late fee. I have never had these issues with any other furniture company and I am disgusted that I have spent all this money and already know this couch is going to be useless within 5 years. They don't apparently care about your hard earned money. I will never purchase there again. read more

Bad experience with the salesman and their delivery service! Sales guy tried to sneak some extra furniture into our purchases and thought we wouldn't notice! The delivery sucks! They had a 2 day delay and tried to deliver it 2 days late. Tried to deliver my furniture at 12pm when I called and stopped by the store to request an after 2pm. My requested was ignored. Had to reschedule the delivery for the following Tuesday and double check that they didn't double charge me for the inconvenience they caused me!!!!!! read more

The worst. Purchased a bed for my son. Waited three weeks for delivery, no problem. Delivery people broke the bed while putting it together. Now they tell me nearly two weeks for a replacement. They left half the bed behind. Went back to store to ask for refund. Told the money won't be back in my account for 7-10 business days. The phone customer service offered me $25 store credit. Store manager offered $100, but why would I buy another piece of furniture from them after this experience. I just want my money back so I can buy my son a bed. I wish I would have read some of the other reviews. Company is just a bunch of scammers. Stay away. read more
